@Samara, I have a question. Suppose I merged person-level income data into your municipality layer (e.g. 5k people in the City of X). Now, I want to calculate the average personal income in each municipality. I am not sure yet how that can be done because for each 'field' (i.e. municipality), I have thousands of observations. Any advice?
I'd look at the Basic Statistics for Fields option under Vector/Analysis Tools from the QGIS main menu. I think that might give you what you're looking for. Otherwise, it might be worth considering making the calculation outside of GIS and then joining the results your GIS dataset of municipalities afterwards.
I would agree with most of the people who have commented on this video: - Very concise and to the point commentary - Easy to Understand instructions - At each step you allow the listener to absorb the previously conveyed information before moving on to the next step - Pace is very important, and you have nailed it If I were your adviser, I would suggest you publish a detailed QGIS Course at websites like Linkedin Learning If you have more tutorials planned for Spatial Analysis in QGIS, I would be the first oje to be notified. This is really a great video. Clear and easy to understand. Congratulations. My only recommendation would be to rerecord with creaky voice set to off. I found the vocal fry distracting.
Hi Olivia - to calculate the sum of a column, go to the main QGIS interface (not the field calculator), click on the Calculate Statistics button (the Sigma symbol which looks like a sideways 'M') and then select your dataset and field you want to sum the values of). It will show you the sum, count, average and other statistics.

Hi, glad you found it useful. For the Function Editor, do you have experience with Python already? Or are you new to Python? I honestly haven't used the Function Editor before but will look into possibly doing a tutorial in the future.
