North africans didn't start out as white. They became white through mixing with Mediterranean countries. North africans started out from the horn of africa. A group of east africans left the horn of africa and settled in north africa. Even after all the mixing, their male population still retained their african paternal haplogroup E1B1B. It is the female north africans that have an overwhelmingly non african DNA haplogroups.

After a long time i did this test and this are my results:

I expected myself to be more mixed, but i turned out that i am mostly Balkan. 🙂

I got 65% Greek and rest is East Europe(28.2), Balkan (2.7%), Baltik (1.8%), Jewish and I am born and bred Bulgarian from Plovdiv. I should be more Greek than these people as per the test. All my family traces are in the Thrace/Macedonia region (which we have in both Bulgaria and Greece), but all my relatives have Bulgarian national identity and Bulgarian names. I was never told that one of my great grandparents was of greek descent or any of that...

South Italians also have high Greek percentages, i've seen Neapolitan and Apulian DNA results go as high as 60-70% Greek.

Hello, so I am Spanish and Italian and I get 18% Greek. I could have gotten this from both sides. So I am not shocked that you have Spanish DNA, you sort of look like you could pass. But then Spaniards and Italians and Greeks look similar. Also your cousin could also very well pass as being Spanish. Nice taping. BTW, it would be very easy for your to learn European Spanish as it has similar phonology to Greek ( sounds) .
Ancient Greeks came to Iberia back in 500 BC and made small colonies there, also the eastern Roman Empire had control over a small portion of it alongside its Mediterranean coast.

My mother was Greek from Corinth along with my Yia Yia but my papou was from Eastern Thrace and born in Constantinople. My results were 18% Balkan, 17% Mediterranean Islander, and 16% Italy. There was also 1.2% from Sardinia and 5% Hispania. Of course from my father's side it was 44% western European but strange 3.2% from Finland and 1.2 % Northern slav. My father being half German American I am sure the northern slav came from there. My paternal grandmother's family is mixed European who have been in the Americas since the 16-1700s. I've been to Greece 3 times but I can't speak Greek. Living in sunny Arizona no one speaks Greek, but I can speak Spanish.

Because Greeks come from Mycenaeans in Southern Greece ( Peloponnese ) as long as history can go back. In order to understand, Mycenaeans were already "ancient" to our "ancient" philosophers/scientists and we remained linked to this day. Balkan people came to the area 600 years after Alexander the Great. Also, Peloponnese was Greek-only even during Ottomans.

@@sergenoglou96 The records clearly sate that his mother was a Molossian princess. An Epirot Greek tribe which is today near the Greek/Albanian border. His great grandmother on his mothers side could have hailed from an Illyrian tribe though. That said, the Thracians were very similar to Greeks biologically. This is what the ancient specimens show.

@@sergenoglou96 He could have been partly Thracian without knowing so. Biologically at least they would be pretty hard to distinguish. Especially before the Slavic migrations in the Balkans, the biological distinction would have been very grey.
It's True.My origin is from Eastern Rumelia.My family left there and went to Constantinople during the Byzantine era.One of my ancestors held a high position in Byzantium.After the Ottoman occupation of Constantinople , half of us left for Europe and the rest for Chios Island,with other families from Eastern Rumelia.

Όταν είναι mixed δεν είναι ποτέ 100% σκούροι. Η συγκεκριμένη έχει ένα πολύ μικρό ποσοστό για να μοιάζει αφρικανα προφανώς. Αυτό δεν σημαίνει ότι οι πρόγονοι τις δεν ήταν. Έλεος!
