in ur another video u have said larger negative rake is provided for continious chips flow ...but in this video u are saying that positive rake angle is provided for continious chip flow ....not clear plese explain clearly sir ..I m waiting for ur answer
Brother, this will depend on material.if we work on ductile material.Then continuous chips will form in both negative or positive rack angle.but CHIP force on the tool will different. Thanks
in ceramic and carbide material negative rake is provided because ceramic and carbide are brittle material, brittle material is strong in compress and weaker in tension .with positive rake when chip flows a normal force will act on rake face and broke it and with negative rake this normal force will act as compression froce so no failure . but negative rake required high cutting velocity so a impact will act on tool due to high cutting velocity. thats why only insert of negative rake is user remaining part of tool is made of HSS which is ductile material and can wear impact without any failure .
