Good information, thanks! I don't think I've ever seen either of these birds, but I think I will recognize them now if I see them.

I thought I'd seen a LeConte's earlier this fall in Western Wisconsin. After posting a pic of it online, I found out it was a female or juvenile Bobolink. LOL Oh, well. Thanks for the detailed ID info!

Nice Ammodramus species and video explainig characteristics in both birds . In Argentina we have A. humeralis, looks a bit different with a yellow eyebrow.

I love the orangish color of them. I have seen the Nelson’s before in winter , but the Leconte’s doesn’t come to my area. Good ID tips for the overlapping regions!

I tried unsuccessfully four times last winter to see a LeConte's Sparrow in a field it was reported in. I'll try again this winter...

Thank you! This will extremely helpful if I ever come across one another! And a quick question , is there a link to download a comparison chart like the laughing gull vs Franklin’s gull comparison? Great video!

I am really bad at sparrow ID. They all look the same to me! lol

Yes, it takes some time to learn them. The Song and Lincoln's Sparrows look similar also, here you go by time of year (sometimes!) to determine which one it is. Friday I actually had both species. Sheesh...

@@OspreyFlyer They all have such similar size and colors. Then you throw into the mix that they are always moving, never still. It's difficult to say the least. Buy I love a challenge and hopefully will get there some day!
