it was prob recorded on cassette tape on a walkman with batteries that were slightly off voltage wise, there fore the recording speed was slightly slow (2percent?) and then when you play that tape back on say a full size deck at the correct speed, it becomes slightly sped up, i had a copy of this recording in the late 90s on tape and it was pitched up back then, prob can correct this by playing it 1,2,3percent slower if you like :)
MariahCentral after re-listening to the first 5 seconds of the video a few times, I can tell it isn't pitched up because her speaking voice is the exact same as other concerts during that era and the fans' screams/cheers all sounds normal.. She actually sang this song a semitone higher that night for some reason
MariahCentral This doesn't make sense though because even if you skip to 3:38 and listen to the fans cheer as she's singing the final "Staaarrss.. Baby baby.." It is still in a higher key but the audience sounds completely normal. I guess I'd have to hear this pitched down a semitone to get a better judgement
it's a little of both. she did sing really high belts and notes during this show but the audio of the recordings has either been edited or pitched - so it sounds some pitching errors happened.
One of the most beautiful timbres I've ever heard, such a gift.
mh g the most beautiful there is 🥰
Love that improvised "A bundle of butterflies" soooooooooooo much

Gently Fading Into Muse no it’s definitely pitched up. Mariah has never sung any of her songs in a higher key than the original lol

@Singapore Pearl No, all of the audios from London are pitched up a semitone.
Why did she raise the pitch only here ? It's amazing !
Deyann CRÉTÉ I think the pitch in this audio was raised
Ginx Teng no actually her voice was really higher in london concert
@@Will-pb1gl
Well..... Both actually
@@TheBritneyMinajSpearsQuartz for once i agree with you
