A true classic 70's film with a superb sound track. I love this film, John Carpenter inspired some of the best films ever made, not the crap we have today!
What are you talking about? There were lots of awful movies being made in the '70s and lots of great movies being made today. If you can't find good movies, that's your fault.
John Carpenter is amazing in both his musical scores and the majority of his movies. He and Kurt Russell need to collaborate again before it's too late.
It was as if John had predicted the future nearly 45 years ago. You look as these films and John had stated how he accomplished the gritty look. Escape was shot in what was left of East St. Louis after rioting had left the city just burned out shells of buildings.
I went to see him perform at The Myth last November, on his "Anthology" tour. Great show! He was on stage having a ball, playing all of his old classics and a few new cuts. He's not just the Master of Horror, he's also the Maestro of Horror!
Forever a fan of John Carpenter. Ever since "The Thing". Basically, ever since the early 80's. Anything he's done, anything he's been a part of. I loved Precinct 13, I just didn't know John Carpenter back then. Thanks John! 😎👍
What I like about Carpenter's themes is how they perfectly foreshadow the villain. - Christine's theme describes her subtle influence and when she fully takes control. - The Thing's theme describes it's mysterious origin and evil nature. - Halloween's theme describes how Michael Myers slowly closes in on his target and then strikes. - They Live's theme describes walking among what is not seen and the alien's hidden propaganda.
Outstanding. Brilliant music for some of the most iconic films of all time. Wish I had been at this. I play bass along with these tracks. Easy but powerful.
A Very Powerful piece of Music,So simple, but yeah Evokes feelings..I watched Assault on Precinct as a kid,and those Blood Red Credits,With this Dark Music just flowing through Me,Awesome...👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🤘👍👍🤘✊
I can't actually tell, is that Daniel Davies of the Halloween 2018/Kills soundtracks on one of the guitars there? It looks like him, but from his distance away from the camera and the lighting he's under I can't really tell.
Brilliant classic film maker Of the mid to late 70s More so Hammer horror films inspired Him to become a film maker As well loved all the gory Color of it he did as well
Die Neuverfilmung ist so weit weg von Original wie man nur sein kein! Nicht eine Ikonische Szene, lahme Musik! Ich liebe Carpenters Gefühl für Mucke und Kult!
One of the things i really enjoy about Carpenter's scores is how minimal they are, but evoke such strong feelings.
You say minimal, I would say pure....
He always wanted his scores to act more like "wallpaper" than anything. He's the anti-Hans Zimmer.
Sasaaaa

Very rare example of Great director and Great composer at the same time.
Double in one Talent- Awesome.
"In England, I'm a horror movie director. In Germany, I'm a filmmaker. In the US, I'm a bum."
And in my opinion he is a genius
Never understood why he's not well respected in the states - he made some great films, absolute timeless classics that still hold up today.
When Hollywood wants to put you down, the media come with their tongues lolling out.
@@MickeyKnox because in the states is full of assholes

John Carpenter is amazing in both his musical scores and the majority of his movies. He and Kurt Russell need to collaborate again before it's too late.
It's too late...🥺
"Got a smoke?" =)

I still get chills when I hear this, I remember the first time I saw this on Turner classic movies uncensored 10 years ago
Sound track to the modern world

Astonishing movie and OST, JC is a cinematic god.
The Dance with the Dead cover of this tune is unreal, this is pretty good to.

Watching old Carpenter on his little keyboard is the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen!
This has to be the coolest B-Movie theme song ever!!
Best concert I ever went to...

Same as his theme from The Fog
I see your point. Escape from New York’s theme foreshadows a Snake Plissken ass kicking
Damn, he does live shows?? Amazing!
I'd love to see him perform and try to meet him. I'm hoping hes still alive in 2021...
A critic once asked JC what do you want people to think when they see one of your films . JC replied nothing i want them to feel .
Haunting but beautiful in equal amounts.
Great job gentlemen.
Belter tune belter film! Legend never gonna be another like him!👊🏻
True masterpiece, i used to listen it for hours!
The best zombie movie ever made
Yeah, but nobody got bit and then turned...😏
Only one thing and one thing only to say to this masterpiece….
“Gotta Smoke???”
The deadly appearance and movement of those gangsters is on another level.
Lucky to see this live at Manchester Uk, Carpenter is a legend!

Always liked the way Street Thunder used the cars as rolling barricades to close in on the police station while maintaining defensive cover.
I seen this movie at rhe drive in theater. It was bitchin then and is still today. Thank you John Carpenter
Terrific and the original is far superior to the needless remake.
So bummed I missed his show when they came to Seattle.
