Received mine last week. So far it's been a blast. I have been using trackballs for years, but this one has the best precision I have ever experienced by a mile. The right click button feels kind of misplaced in my case, so I switched the two ones on the right and I use right click on the bottom one with my little finger now. Much better.
I just bought an Elecom Huge for my desktop after being forced to get something small (Elecom Bitra) for my cramped office workspace. I had just enough space to put a tiny mouse, but not enough to actually move it. That's how I was reminded trackballs were even a thing, and that sent me down the rabbit hole. If I get used to the Huge for gaming, I think the GameBall is the next logical step. The videos are cool, showing us the actual, practical application.
I'm glad to see it being used with a MMORPG. I've been looking for a solution to play FFXIV without a mouse, thanks to carpal tunnel. The gamepad is just too weird for me to get the hang of. So, I'm gonna give a trackball a go, and I'm ordering one of these this week! I'm sure it'll be a learning curve, but I'm looking forward to it.
This mouse inst replacing my current huge, but it is reallllly close to it. I look forward to seeing an updated model or pro model, hell im even excited to see a thumb model. I think your company has some big potential. Keep up the good work!

Hey guys , really have enjoyed seeing your journey here . Was very exited to see such intuitive ideas on the creation , reminds me of the time i carefully drilled a hole in my Logitech trackball back in the day , only to insert a thumb stick into it 😀 . Really like the idea of the " thumb ball gaming track ball " , as a part of my own " home " DIY devleopments , i have become infatuated bye creating laptop stands , cradles for key pads along with small monitor " eco set ups " for want of a better word . Thses ideas you have are all so great for energy and space saving , the health element which although very relevent and one of the main reasons for commercial production , seems to have stigmatised the concept without due justification . It seems purely due to the trend of " if my bicepts don't match those of the games character , I'm not into it " , hence the obsession with the mouse and a reservation about a more relaxing , economical and energy saving set up . Anyway putting that aside , it would truelly be great if you can master the thumb in accuracy , speed and control for game play with a ball . What has me on the " edge of my seat " is that once , that no small accomplishment is achieved , there's an area for several switches under the now more free " four fingures " ! .
had mine for several months now, i had forgotten what its like to have a track ball, much easier to aim, easier on the arm, and so far no carpal tunnel money well spent!
Bright color balls are much better than the black ball for use with hand cam. Black would be hardly visible I think - much more demanding on camera and light. Besides balls kit I'd love to see a different switches kit (heard some feedback for the switches require a force above average and people replacing them with lighter line of switches) and a different button shape kit (LMB and Forward buttons extended forward parallel to the table outside of current envelope to make it easier to reach for some people). I guess small things like this would have much quicker time to market than Pro model, that also might do other things differently so it would be a whole lot of things to consider compared to adapting a well known model. Oh yeah, and no word on firmware customization (key mapping specifically). Wasn't it brought up by every influencer so far? Turns out people don't take it as granted that you can use XMBC...
I was in the 2nd pre-order for the Gameball, took some getting used to for games, but now I certainly prefer it over my MX Ergo for general usage and gaming. I had to switch to the lowest DPI from the default, as I found that even at the lowest DPI the sensitivity felt higher than I was used to, but I may have adapted enough to the current DPI that I can step up now. I look forward to the Pro model.
Any tips? My decades old muscle memory doesn't want to let go. It's completely fine for normal usage (and I've started to use it for work too). But when gaming (eg. Sea of Thieves), my muscle memory takes over. Right click is specially annoying. Great device, but old habits die hard.
I would love to see this built into a controller. I'm interested in this but the price is a little high for at this moment in time but I will be keeping an eye on this.
I've been stuck using Logitech trackball for 15 years, putting in 10s of thousands of pc gaming hours in MMOs and dota2, sc2, so excited to get my shipment
hah - same boat here, I refuse to give up my Kensington Expert Mouse PRO... been close to 20 years now and still rockin... now i just might get this new one.
Suggestion on possible future prototypes: Ditch the ambi design in favor of better ergonomics on the right side. I think having pointer+middle finger seems to give more precise control, which leaves your ring and pinky for right click. A 70 ish degree angled button for the ring finger that allows for a "pulling" motion, while also being in a relaxed position seems optimal. The pinky would do well with an oversized button that pushes directly into the desk rather than squeezing will help with finger and hand strain. Or, you could ditch the right side for major button control and have the left/right click control at the thumb. I'm not sure which would feel better for me but definitely would try them out!
Oh, it's the first time I saw a yellow ball! Does it add anything good to the performance? Also, may we expect a full-fledged product review from you? And lastly, any plans on a wireless version?
Please look at the design of the trackman marble fx ergonomic. That is the single best trackball I've ever used, and excelled in gaming for accuracy. The ball is large, and positioned where your fingers easily manipulate the ball as most of your fingers movement is in the opening and closing of you fingers, versus lateral movement. Back in the days of Tribes and Tribes 2, other fps games it literally improve my accuracy over a mouse. Please try one out if you haven't.
But what about if you want to do fast flicks?^^ You simply can't do it with the trackman marble. You have to either turn up sensitivity a lot or not flick.
leagman1 you can absolutely do fast flicks. Here’s a link to the one I’m talking about. The large ball, and specifically the ergo design is recognized by many to be one of the best designs ever put out. Only reason it got pulled off the market was do to some shyster sueing over a patent (which has expired). ruclips.net/video/DWp96KZWzAE/видео.html
@@0heck What I'm talking about is the sensor not recognising movement past a certain speed. Unless the Trackman Marble FX has had a special sensor, he will have had the same problem. I haven't tried that one personally, although I would have if I had gotten my fingers on it. I tried the M575, Trackman Marble and the Optical TrackMan Cordless, which also had a bigger ball. They all have the same problem of having an unfit sensor. You _can_ do fast flicks, if you turn the sensitivity up. But if you have it lower and then do fast flicks, it sill spin out, not recognising movement properly anymore. That is what Gameball does not have, because it has a proper sensor. Ofc I can't speak for Trackman Marble FX, because I don't have it. Did they release a version with a better sensor?
@@GameBallTrackball I really don't think it's weird at all. I don't really understand why you started using the angle of "if you have wrist problems" etc. . A gaming trackball is enough of an angle. In my eyes, the only reason Logitech or any other company has not really reached the gamer market with trackballs is because they did not put a sensor that picks up fast movement in any of theirs. I would have completely used their M575 thumbball and the trackman marble, if they had just went bloody logical step and put a sensor in that tracks for regular games.
I haven't purchased the gameball, but it looks good. I bought a trackball mouse and curious how it'll work for me. I am dropping my mmo mouse for something similar to this. It will take so long to get use to. But I am also not that sweaty anymore. Don't need the quality of life benefits of 12 thumb buttons.

Just found out about this trackball, it looks good BUT it seems there’s no software for it and there’s a touch scroll. I used a Kensington Expert for a long time with CAD and even used it with Fortnite, I like the ring scroll around the ball. So I think the touch scroll is an over engineered part.

So you haven't actually used one yet? As a user since the first release, I can confidently state that the 'ball hopping up issue' isn't an issue. The very few people who claim to have experienced it were new to trackballs and their hand placement was incorrect. I have been able to replicate it, but only by trying hard to make it hop. I use my Gameball all day, everyday for both work (I'm a product reviewer) and for gaming. I have NEVER once had the ball hop.
