Flair, my dog had the same problem not bringing it all the way so I would say to practice put the bumper in her mouth make her sit then take 10 steps back then call her whilst standing straight up and if she stops then take another few steps back and encourage her on then encouraging her on tapping high up on your body so she lifts her head up then stroke her chest and under her head this should encourage her to lift her head it might help if she's sat down then keep doing that and see if she keeps better but Lucy's retrieving is really good now well done you've definitely put a lot of work in hope this helps
I marinated some " white tail" back strap with Coors and onions over night and brought it to a family BBQ, seasoned it with S&P, grilled it just off the hot coals to a medium rare..... everyone raved it was the best they ever had! ; thinly slice one whole onion, loosely separate onion rings and spread out in a large baking dish, place back strap or any "game meat" on top of onions season with a little salt and pepper then pour in one or two cans/bottles of your favorite beer, marinate over night. Grill, roast or pan sear to your desired doneness.
