- On the 18th of May 2012, Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall hosted a dinner at Buckingham Palace for foreign sovereigns and royalty in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Here the couple greet their guests, Their Majesties the King and Queen of the Hellenes.

She didn't even wish to divorce her husband for Edward. Also, Edward abdicated in 1936; Camilla married Charles in 2005. Are you surprised that attitudes to divorce have changed in a 69-year period? Attitudes towards illegitimacy changed wholesale in a far, far shorter period.
Who said Camilla having an affair was "OK"? The woman has endured more bile, hatred, and vilification than any other public figure, yet she carried on quietly, dutifully, with a smile, without ever murmuring a word of complaint to the press, to be with the man she loves, supports, and is evidently ideally suited to. She has well earned her place in the Royal Family.
It's nice to see King Konstantine in good health.

Why is it incredible for the King and Queen of Greece to speak to each other in Greek? They aren't going to speak Romanian to each other, are they?
What I find incredible is that their eldest three children speak flawless Greek, as if they were raised in Greece, while the youngest two don't speak a word.

The king is the only one real monarch that can actually claim his throne. You got Maria of Russia who claims she's the heir or the Bulgarian and Yugoslavian ones also. None of them are direct descent of the monarch who was disposed.
That's untrue. The claimant to the Bulgarian throne is the same person who was deposed and the claimant to the Serbian throne is the son of the king who was deposed.

There is no King and Queen of the Hellenes. The monarchy in Greece was abolished in 1973 and 1974.
Important to note that deposed royals obviously don’t have their titles recognised in the countries they used to reign, and when other people, or even themselves, style them by these titles it is a matter of courtesy and a way to show respect for the role they used to perform. Once a King always a king, even without a country, when the king dies, the heir stays as prince or princess.
Titles are line long and inherented, so a royal family is still a royal family, even if the country dose not have a monarchy
If the country was ever to reinstate them then they are already there with titles
@@alexanderthegreat3 There is no ownership or inheritance of titles without the country that bestows them. Since 1974 these people are civilians with no special status whatsoever. Titles are imaginary anyways, and without a function of state they are without justification. The Hellenes have no king or queen.

Actually it is since 1974. But according to the Vienna Treaty of 1815, expressly mentions that the king who has lost his throne retains his title but not the values to him. So the title is valid

The Greek Royals are also the reason several of the islands were restored to Greek rule. The democratically elected leaders of the Hellenic Republics have caused far more catastrophe to Greece than the Royals could dream of reaping.
Those denying the Greekness of the Hellenic Royal Family based on ethnic descent alone are usually the first to say we should accept people like Sadiq Khan and Lewis Hamilton as British.
