    I caught them in the wild. They're pretty easy to keep in aquarium. After couple days, they're not afraid to pick flakes foods on the surface or even the ground. And they loooOoove bloodworms .

    I came here to see if I was keeping my small school correctly and was happy to learn I am doing everything right. They have quickly become a favorite of mine and having had them for a year now I have found they eat whatever I am feeding including flake( they live in a community tank) and love to play in the current from my spray bar. I definitely recommend them. They are also stunningly beautiful when the light hits them and they turn iridescent!

    Nice video!
    I've got 2 at the moment, they're a little bit boring or should i say nervous? There's 2 of them in a 110 litre tank with some mollies and guppies.
    Would their attitude/behaviour change if I were to buy another 3?

      Hi, i dont have any but ive been researching them, its recommended you keep 5 so they can feel more comfortable and less shy

      I agree, you need 5 or more, if not, it might get stressful for them especially if you got other fishes in the same environment. I have 6 glass catfish with 6 Harlequin Rasbora, 6 neon tetra & 6 black noen tetra. They adapt to each other well by now, it’s nearly a year together 🙂

    These easily became my favorite in my community tank. They are like sharks with food and mostly hang out in their squad all day until night time. I "chum the waters" by dipping my finger in the thawing blood and brine shrimp them into the tank and seconds later and they go crazy in anticipation at the top of the tank.
    I feed brine shrimp and blood worms and they both fall slowly enough that when they are in that shark mode they can get their fill and leftovers all go to the bottom feeders

      My rope fish live with tiger barbs and gold barbs. I have never tried them with a beta fish. Rope fish are most active with cooler temperatures

    if the glass catfish have a hall pass does that mean they can skip playing with the evil bass?

    my ghost glass catfishes spine started to curl… and then he was swimming like that for a couple weeks. he passed away today :( what does that mean?

  • @zakosist

    I just got some glass catfish today. But one thing I notice is the glass catfishes sticking to one spot in the aquarium despite having way more space (I got bought and its a 350 liter/92 gallon aquarium, there are more other fish but they are tiny), and it's like wagging fast back and fourth, not actually resting. Is that normal behavior?

    • @fishknow2903
      @fishknow2903 2 года назад +1

      they’re nocturnal, sometimes they’ll stay down the bottom/in plants because they aren’t a massive fan of the light. as long as they’re moving at night (all the lights off for at least a few hours) then it’s normal. also, they usually take about a week to adjust to the tank/area, so that’s probably why if they aren’t anymore.

    • @zakosist
      @zakosist 2 года назад

      @@fishknow2903 yep, Ive found out that by now. They now hide most of the day and only come out after its dark

    I never see mine eat. I have two. One stays in a log 24/7 and the other one just started to come out yesterday. Do you think they’re okay? I have a gourami, 3 guppies, 2 glass cats, and a dwarf frog.

      The glass cat and the frogs prefer to be kept in groups so they'll feel better if you keep 3-4 more glass cats and 2-3 more frogs

    I drop the food on the surface of the water, then the filter drags the food underwater like a current straight into the catfish, allowing them to eat :)

  • @LorienInksong
    @LorienInksong 4 года назад

    I'm concerned: this doesn't look like an adequately sized tank for the species and the waterflow/current appears to be of moderate strength rather than the low steady flow this species needs.
