Ha, don't worry about stalling your bike. I been riding for 50 years and still do it every now and then. It happens!

Great job, Rea. I am praying for your safety always. This is from a mother who is proud yet nervous watching you ride.

You had a really good recovery from stalling out. You're learning all about the details of riding and you should be proud. Keep having fun with it 👍

Thank you so much :') It was really scary but the pressure of cars behind me kinda snapped me into action to try to recover quickly.

@@RidewithRea That is a very good instinct to have. You'll overcome your anxiety, just keep your body loose and your head alert

Just started riding myself. Only stalled once so far as I was on a hill and didn't give it enough gas. Surprisingly I kept calm even though there were cars behind me and started her up and went about my way. I still struggle with slow speed turns at times. That is something I really need to work on. The more I get out the more fun I'm having now too. Started listening to music with my Cardo and that helps me really relax

oh gosh! Going uphill is the worst especially if you're stopped at a light and the road is inclined. I'm glad you were able to stay calm. I'll have to try a cardo! I've heard a lot a really great things and I'm still looking for a good brand to try out.

lol, Its perfectly normal. I've been riding a few years now and still occasionally stall it. slight mental distraction. I also have a huge fairing that helps with the wind cause Riding year round in the east coast winters is HARSH. (Never ride in snow though not on a cruiser)

Smaller bikes don't usually have tall screens so there's not much protection from the wind. Cruisers, touring bikes and maxi scooters have better wind protection - you might look at something like that later. You aren't the first and you won't be the last to stall your bike in traffic. Lots of cars also stall although in Australia (where I live) the manual car whilst not a relic is becoming much rarer. Your tips for riding in high wind are all sensible. I fear that many riders don't do enough to ride to the conditions assuming every ride is the same. The bike might be the same but the road and the weather are going to vary each time you're out and sensible riders adjust for that. Enjoy you're rides and keep the videos coming.

Stalking is part of riding a motorcycle imo. So don't worry too much about it.
It had riding in wind, especially if there is gust of wind. But what a view! Take care!

Hey yeah, pay attention to the wind, the right gust, or wrong, can shift you an entire lane over... worst case scenario ... head on into oncoming traffic..... and pay attention to windbreakers, tunnels, rocks, cliffs, forests.... as you leave/pass and get out from your lee, you can shift a lane again.... if it gets real bad you have to counter lean into the wind... thats scary

  • @LH-zv2zq

Safety comment. At vid time stamp 5:19, you came to a 4-way stop. The 2nd car on your left before the red one didn't give you the right away. The left lane of cars is the most dangerous where bike and car hit. This happens especially if you were also going to turn left. Be safe Rea!

Prepare for more emberacing things to happen. Like the clutch wire braking when you're about to enter a roundabout and you only notice when it's already too late :D Also you can omit the music we all prefer to listen to the motor, or well find a good balance (but motor louder pls ty)

Stalling your motorcyle is the worst - people looking at you and honking. I got my license not a month ago, and I'm still learning on my Royal Enfield. You can't help it, only by practicing and repetition you can get really good at this.

Make a habit of always shifting down until you cannot shift down anymore at any stop.

  • @cyclefrst7799
    @cyclefrst7799 Год назад

Practice stall recovery without hitting the starter. With only a little bit of momentum / before the bike completely comes to a stop, you can bump start the bike.
Pull in the clutch when it stalls and let it roll (even paddle the bike forward a bit), then drop the clutch lever to bump start the bike.
Test this drill in a parking lot. Ride the bike slowly - pull clutch lever - hit kill switch off - bike stops running - kill switch on - drop clutch lever and the bike will start without using starter.
Does not work going up hills obviously…

My friend and I started riding together this year also and so we are always going out together. Stalls, sketch and bad shifts all at the worst times here too 😂 Twice I have stalled while rolling and both times managed to restart the bike without putting a foot down which was weird lol I feel ya on the wind and the death grip, made a 100km trip and the wind was awful, hands were cramped af. Fun watching these cause we are at the same progression level basically

I was trying to figure out how you stalled there because you were moving, were you just playing with the clutch with no gas and fethering it? I've never had that happen to me on a flat surface but it happens randomly on light hills.
