How do I use scale to only allow my keyboard to play notes within a chord progression specifically rather than just the scale, Basically could I fold a MIDI chord progression and improvise notes to play within the context of a chord progression?

I really appreciate your usual thoroughness and attention to detail here but I really don't understand what this is for unless it's under development and on the way to becoming either a lot quicker to use or having some musical purpose. I just don't see what Ableton are getting at here.🤷

Would it make sense to use Ableton’s tuner, run the bassline you have already created through the tuner, see the notes of the bassline line and identify your root note that way? Instead of playing the harmony instrument chromatically until it sounds right, or am I missing something? I know very very little about music theory, I’ve been going by ear and by feel for years but I’m trying to push myself a little further musically, get out a little out of my comfort zone of beats and bass and write some chord progressions but I’m a little hung up on the terminology and theory in general, I understand it very well in a very primal guttural way but have very little cognitive comprehension of it

This device continues to be a total mystery to me after watching this video. No idea what I'm supposed to do with it.

Haha... I guess it's understanding the matrix that's the issue... If I understand correctly, it's notes in vertically, transferred to the not out horizontally wherever the intersection is placed.
