See road riding can be brutal. I am no roadie nor am I a DH or freerider but I mountain bike and road as a messenger and riding on the road is just as if not more dangerous. Cars and pavement vs trees and dirt, which would you choose?
i remember an mtb buddy of mine once shared me that if you're doing road biking, and got hit by a car or truck, this is NOT your fault. on riding an mtb is the opposite way, IT is your fault.
What was rachel`s time at vallnord andorra? I found a trail that is 1200m long which is kinda like the one in vallnord. my time on it was 4 minutes and 52 seconds.i know it sucks compared to gee`s 2minutes and 41 seconds. i hope im close to rachel or sabriena jonniers time.

I used to dh mtb, but i only got 1 ligament remaining (PCL) in my right knee, so I got a road bike thinking itd be safer................ Now I overtake cars (going dh) at 40-45 mph into and out of blind bends, without gloves or helmet (top speed 57mph), but I`ve never fallen off (at speed, anyway, but i broke my hip going slow on ice). at least with a road bike, when you do fall off and need the ambulance, youre already lying on the road, so theres good access for the paramedics
Yeah not paying attention will get you killed, but being able to hear the vehicles especially a truck would be possible if she hadn't been rocking out to AC/DC. I watched one of my fellow riders wife get killed because she had her earphones on and couldn't hear the car coming from behind her when she entered the street. All of us that ride everyday know that hearing a car is just as important as seeing the car.
For 140 years bicycles speed and safety have been limited by pneumatic tires. Rolling a radially sprung composite hoop is more efficient with superior power transfer than the best pneumatic. Significantly more maneuverable at the highest speeds. Composite hoop protects rider from wheel collapse.

I couldn't imagine riding on the road without my hearing sense. I use it all the time. I can tell if a car is coming up behind me. I really only rely on my vision to confirm what my ears already told me.
I ride freeride/dj and have taken some brutal slams. I will take tearing myself up on dirt and rocky slopes than on hot, flat 100 degree asfalt. No thanks. Road Bikers for what it is worth you got my respect.
i have dislocated my sholder not plesant. but the last thing u want to do is put it back in urself cause u can get ligaments caught. i went into hospital and had xrays befor they put it back in. though there was a paramedic there so did what he said lol but this girl is tough.

UCI road bike races should set a standard mandatory 29lbs for road bike and only allow Alloy frames. This moronic get it down to 1 lbs bike shit needs to stop. 29bs is average and also more safer for all riders. This would also eliminate chicken leg midgets from the tours.
thats how my bike looks like:( i crached in to a motorbike but on some fucked up way i only schratched my little finger. i was sooo friggen close to break my neck. but the worst part was that happens on the schools lunch break so i Had to have a lession even tho i was a cm to get killed XD
Races downhill mountain bikes - is fine Rides a road bike - nearly dead. I never understood why anyone would want to ride a road bike. Its really, really, boring and there are trucks and cars that try and kill you. Ill stick to the trails thanks.
