    I've been watching since you started this channel and I love to see you growing! It's inspiring for me! I've been selling my stickers on Etsy for almost a year and the most I've made in one month is $500, I was super excited! I'm working on growing my business to $3000 a month, that' been my goal since I started. I really enjoy your videos and although I'm always curious about your shop I respect your reasons for not sharing.

    Shady customers, bad reviews that weren't warranted, and people not reading and understanding a listing and shop policies? Karens are real. I used to work retail and had to deal with people at the returns and service desks at more than one retailer. The return policy was LITERALLY behind me in big bold lettering and people still complained. People will do shady stuff to get things for free or return used stuff because they want their money back wven if the product wasn't defective.
    Thanks for the video! Congrats on your success!!!

    Hi Tim! This is very exciting that you are sharing your journey and all you've learned.
    I am interested in the idea of creating stickers. I am an artist and graphic designer who works in print production, so I am confident in my skills and excited about what I can potentially accomplish.
    One concern I have is the longevity of the stickers. Using the equipment and methods you describe, are the stickers you produce water resistant, and are they prone to fading? One thing I want to avoid is customers being angry that the stickers they bought from me don't last. I'd appreciate your input on this topic.
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.

    Hey Tim, thanks for sharing everything down to the details! I’d like you to share your net profit for a month, let’s say July 2022, counting all the expenses for that month (if you feel comfortable sharing this info), cause people easily fall for these huge numbers, but for an entrepreneurial mindset it’s equally important to see the actual expenses behind them. So glad to see this video! I never thought of people leaving bad reviews or claiming they never received their stickers so they can receive free product. Also, I have been in the market for a new printer so will definitely be buying a mega tank now that I understand how it works. It looks like Amazon is sold out so could you link the same one on Canon’s website that way you can get credit? Also, I didn’t know you didn’t have to use the sticky pad when you’re cutting sticker paper! I hate that darn sticky pad! This will eliminate so much frustration and tedious work for me. Are you able to share what force settings you recommend when you’re not using the sticky pad? Lastly, I am in the very beginning stages - I have about 10 drawings completed, all cartoon pastries and animals so far. I have already created my shop’s name on Etsy and Instagram name for marketing. I have also completed my business logo design. Once I get the printer, I’ll just need to decide on sticker paper and my packaging. I hope to open in 2 months. 😁

I'm planning on launching my Etsy store (and website) in the next few weeks and I'm wondering if you don't give you shop name, aside from Etsy ads, how do you get the word out about it? I was always wondering why most if not all the people that make Etsy Tutorials don't share their shop link. Seemed like a missed opportunity. I even started to think that their shops must be scammy or some sort. Cause one time a saw a Tutorial where the woman automated her shop completely. Hooking it up to some apparel provider or something like that. So she basically didn't do anything.
    But I never thought about the risk of ppl stealing your shop basically. Guess you attract different ppl when doing etsy tutorials that include a decent amount of revenue showcase instead of doing studio vlogs which are directed to customers.
    Anyway watched a bunch of your videos over the past couple days and you gave me a good amount of inspiration to make changes to my shop. The way you conveyed those infos just kinda hit different. So thanks a lot.

    Hi Tim, thank you for another great video! Congratulations on your success! Your videos have been helpful and inspiring to me as I've kind of been floundering for a while now with my Etsy shop. I had it open for a few of my art prints for a while, but I'm more focused on stickers and I really struggle with sales. I guess if I had one question for you, it would be how are you making your sales? I think my biggest struggle isn't the quality of my products per se, but getting eyes on them. I have been watching tons of YT vids and trying to educate myself in sales and marketing (calling myself a beginner is probably even being kind lol). I advertise on a few social media platforms, but perhaps I'm just not doing it enough. I have been focusing on getting more items up for sale though. Thanks again so much for your videos as well as your time - good luck on all of your future endeavors!

    I'm just getting started and looking at materials. I already have a Canon tank printer and a cricut I use for fun so I figured why not start a side gig and earn income from my hobby. I'm trying to keep my COGS low but still offer a quality product.
    I'm curious about shipping materials. I see a lot of people using standard envelopes to ship their stickers and vinyl products. Do you have any issues with things getting damaged from the elements? I am concerned with rain, snow, moisture.

      I ship most of my orders inside a polybag -> regular envelope. Polybags are super cheap and will prevent stickers from ever getting wet. If someone makes a big purchase I'll put them into a bubble mailer. Hope that helps :)

    Hey Tim I'm wanting to make a sticker shop because I've been enjoying designing stickers. But I'm not sure if im willing to invest 500$ for a new printer and a cutter straight out the gate. What should I do

      Maybe find used ones?

    • @TimKoa

      It's super tedious but you could always cut stickers out by hand, which saves you from buying the cutter. I tried this for a bit and got major hand cramps :(

    Hey Tim! I was in the market for a new printer because I was blowing through ink for my stickers. I just picked up the same Canon pixma G3260 and I’m loving the quality, but is it just me or is this the loudest printer on planet earth? Is yours also really loud?

    • @TimKoa

      Lol yes! It does make a really loud noise when it’s taking ink from the tanks. I work with headphones :)

    Why don’t you have them printed for you? Will save time and might even be less cost?

    • @TimKoa
      @TimKoa 3 года назад +2

      Making them in house gives me more profit margin. I'm also super picky about quality, so making them in house lets me control what customers get.

    Can you explain why you chose to make and ship your own as opposed to print on demand?

    • @TimKoa
      @TimKoa 2 года назад +1

      There's pros and cons to everything, but I went the way I did for the higher profit margins and being able to control the quality of the product.

    Hi Tim, thanks for sharing, may I know your average shipping cost?

    • @TimKoa
      @TimKoa 2 года назад

      I use stamps for most orders so it's about $.90 cents to $1.30 depending on the weight. I charge customers for this though, they don't seem to mind. For larger orders, I'll ship it out with tracking which costs about $6-7.

    ok so now there has to be a video titled 'How I Joined The Illuminati' but it's just a video on how to calibrate your cutter really really well.
    Congrats on your success :) Just starting out myself in the last month or so.

    would it be better to have a shop on Etsy or have your own website?

    • @TimKoa
      @TimKoa 3 года назад

      Simple answer is both! I started with Etsy first and it's still where I get the vast majority of orders. So if you have to start with one, I'd recommend Etsy, but I think it's important to build a brand and get off Etsy at some point.

    Thanks for sharing! I have no idea that you could cut stickers without the mat. I tried to set "no mat" in Silhouette studio, but the cut area would then become much smaller, is this normal? Thanks!

    • @TimKoa
      @TimKoa 3 года назад +1

      You can change margins in the software to give you the maximum workable space, but yeah it's going to cut off a little bit of usable space on the bottom of the sheet. To me, it's worth the trade off to not have to use the sticky mat again! :)
