      @@juanpabloducaud9725 the wording is probably not correct, best is a bit vague, trek bikes are always good, maybe not always the best but are always well thought out in design, they probably have some of the best balanced bikes of all manfs.
      People call for steeper seat angles, but its not as easy as going to a steeper angle, you lose alot of leg power transfer when you steepen the angle, its more efficient but not always best in tech climbs when you stand to pedal and again is where bike balance plays a huge role.
      i've ridden many many bikes over the last few years and ratio ranges, ratios and Bike balance matter more than the seat angle.

    Nice rig, run a similar set up
    But 2019 reign advanced 0, 180mm lyric ultimate, super deluxe RCT rear coil, Code RSC brakes, X01 drivetrain, Minion tyres it’s an absolute beast descending. Still climbs fine too

  • @pierrebroccoli.9396
    @pierrebroccoli.9396 5 лет назад +1

    I assume that Lyric is using a 44mm offset. It would be interesting to know how it behaves with the shorter offset fork compared to the 51mm variants my Slash 9.8 came with. Sometimes I find my front end a bit vague on the more milder sections of the trail. Best upgrade for the Slash was a MegNeg on the rear shock, followed by decent aftermarket brake pads and Ergon seat and grips.
    Fun bike.

      Tom Evans the slash runs a 230x57.5mm shock. If you use a 230x60mm it almost gives you 160mm in the rear. Works perfectly fine and I’d say that’s what’s happened here. Looks to be the same frame from the last few years.

    Thanks for this video. After watching I went a bought a Trek Slash 9.8 rather than the Ibis I was looking at. The one thing I would like is to protect the lower rear linkage as on Pedro's bike. It looked like a rubber plug in there was that custom he had made up or an after market product available for purchase? Thanks again for a great video.

      I work for Trek and I have a 2020 Remedy, both , Slash and Remedy, comes with 160 front and 150 rear! Not 170&160! There must be some misconception here in the video! Because..., Mounting a longer "eye to eye" rear shock , will raise your BB and mess up the geo and handling of the bike, which is the last thing an Enduro racers want!

    • @yakbiker75
      @yakbiker75 5 лет назад +9

      @@raheemgahelable I call bullshit! The misconception here is you thinking you know what you're talking about. It's the shock stroke that changes the suspension travel not eye to eye measurement. If the shock originally comes in a 57.5mm stroke a 60mm or 65mm stroke with same eye to eye will give you more travel.
