I think they shoulda had real children play the characters - I'm certain all these actors are jumped up on speed in this 🤨 apart from the guy playing Harry, who seems like the only sane one there. I can't picture this story as a proper live action movie because it just doesn't seem realistic to me.
The reason they hired adults to play the children are because of child labor laws. It would be illegal to have children play Albus & Scorpius because of the hours and work it takes for this production. If they aired an official movie/series they probably would make them actual children because for movies/tv shows they can fluctuate the hours and time put into making it. And as for the exaggeration-this is theatre acting, not movie acting. It’s supposed to be iver/exaggerated and enthusiastic to keep the audience interested and to keep the story flowing nicely.
JG16riffin this production actually did the best at casting young actors. Albus and Scorpius are 14 or 15 for the vast majority of the play and the actors were 18 and 19 here respectively which closer than most actors playing teens in television. Also whilst in the theatre it’s near impossible to realise you’re watching adults as you’re far away and the actors are very talented
I wish they did a world tour, so that I could see it here in Belgium. I know they once did something like that with a Batman live show which was only in Belgium for four days and that was a great experience.
I didn't like the Scorpious in that short fragment. In the drama he was like lost, a bit sad - I didn't visualise him like so... agitated? It doesn't make sense.
There is no musical, it's a stage show. We're lucky enough in Melbourne to be the third city after London and New York to open the show and continue the Harry Potter story right here.

Exactly. It just sucks that this amazing play (with some of the best direction/designs/effects I’ve ever seen onstage) is connected with such a horrible person who’s using their influence to spread harmful rhetoric.
Herohammer Studios it might look weird seeing it in this format, but there is nothing like seeing it in theatre. I saw it in Melbourne and it was truly magical. If you get the chance to see it, don't turn away from it because you will not regret seeing it. This cast is truly wonderful and portrayed their characters and the story amazingly. Don't knock it 'till you try it:)

Uhh no JK Rowling wrote it with other people. It is supposed to be kinda related to the actual HP series and kinda part canon. Plus, this isn't actually how it is performed. The actors rehearse over and over again and also it may seem a little "bad" because 1. Scorpius is supposed to be the awkard hyper smart kid (ex. The singing and voice sounds) And 2. The book itself has scenes were they go from one location to another so its harder to portray that in theater form I haven't seen it yet but some of my friends and favorite youtubers have and they say it is truly a wonderful experience.
