If Darren were a country singer, he could be Darren Twang.
Now I wanna see that(I'm a metalhead٫ I don't like a lot of country music٫ but if Darren made country music٫ I'd so listen to it)
He certainly doesn't look like a country singer.
@@stupendous1068 To you he may not but I see it, not trying to be an asshole btw
@@Rachelbowls24 He needs a cowboy hat.
@@stupendous1068 Exactly, then he’ll be the cowboy bowler
The fact that hes even somewhat accurate bowling that way is insane

I wouldn't say that - the only difference is the way the wrist flicks and what fingers do the lifting. I've back-up bowled my entire life, my wrist just refuses to turn the 'right' way. Just means I look like a lefty until you watch my hand.
@@lauralyn8785 Also, your wrist is normally strongest through a supinated position, with force going through the pinky and ring fingers as that's the major flexors in the forearm connect.
not hard at all

There are people with way weirder styles that are great at it. Tim Cagle II, Jim Cripps (aka the Backwards Bowler). If you practice enough you can be good at just about anything.
Damn that is such a violent back up ball soo smooth and dialed in
He definitely has got some talent.... I think the lights and cameras impacted him enough to throw him off his game. Plus, rolling against Darren has quite a bit of intimidation factor mixed with excitement from meeting a celebrity pro athlete.
3:06 That rev rate is insane💯
He's got better ball roll as a backup bowler than I do as an actual lefty 😂
Pretty sure I bowled with Gee and his family at State in Vegas a few years back. Saw him bowl a 300 if it's the same guy lol was mesmerized by the back up ball!
ruclips.net/user/shortsvEcGtWYmiDg?si=Kj6P5NhXojN0KqxS
Vegas knows what's up with Lil Gee and his fam! All great bowlers!
Started doing this on my own when I was a kid (mostly to pick up the ten pin). Had no idea anyone else did it for a long time and just now learned that there’s an actual term for it.
Wow! That's the most powerful spin I've ever seen on a backup ball!
Gee shot 300 at the Military Tournament the other day! He's also leading in points!
D.Tang is one of my favorite bowlers that I learn alot from
Darren: don't hook at your spares kids
Bowlers that never developed, not being able to throw straight: watch this
I was a backup bowler before it was cool. Not sure if that guy had his ball custom drilled or if he just uses a lefty ball, but I had mine drilled custom just for backup bowling. For a long time before that, I had just used a lefty handed ball and thrown right, then I finally paid to have a ball custom fit and drilled for me and my game improved. Backup bowlers used to be pretty rare, but I hear its more common now. I have yet to ever meet another backup bowler though.
Oh shoot. Greg is awesome bowler and even better dude.
It was fun to watch him bowl for sure… What kind of ball speeds did he have? It look like it was getting down there pretty fast lol. 🤪
Around 17 mph ..I have seen him first hand in league and it is definitely impressive…
His fast ball speed is part of the reason he misses the pocket. If he slowed down a bit he would do better. He seemed a little nervous bowling on camera though, so could be the reason.
Darren looking good in those shoes!
Glad to see you using your right arm again :)
I just like him rocking the Creating The Difference patch.
Dude really felt good after those first 2 shots haha.
Got to watch the process of this video being made! so happy to meet Darren he’s a great guy even when he’s got the booked schedule
I'd really like a slow mo video of the action he puts on the ball from behind.... incredible video regardless!
great strike shot when he hits target and the pocket but his misses are punished so hard
All based off his speed and revs
aw man, he tilted himself when he missed that turkey and couldn't get the spare T_T
damn. he was DELETING those pins too.
but lovely turkey on your end. i love watchin you bowl. the smooth transition
from hand to lane with no loud ass sound is *chef kiss*
uh wtf just happened, 4:08 we said the same thing almost.....
that's scary AND trippy as hell
The captions “he’s gonna blow me straight up” 💀
That's my boy G from Staten Island 💯💯💯
Seeing this and seeing someone throw backup so perfectly is amazing bc i do backup ball
Damn miss that boy Greg.... bowled league with him and his pops at jersey lanes...
Since you’re in Vegas, you should check out Pat Hunt. He is the best backup bowler I’ve ever seen. He averaged 230 in his prime
Pat Hunt is a beast! Best backup bowler in Vegas hands down!
A Right handed Lefty, that's a pretty rare sight
I’m the opposite Left handed righty (fractured hand age 10, everything switched to Left hand, but still write primarily with right)
Also I use index&middle digits no thumb either
@@aceassn716 That is a pretty interesting grip. Left Handed Righty reffers to how he gets the ball to spin the other way, how a Lefty would get it to while bowling right handed
Anytime I see someone praising backup balling, it makes me consider uploading myself. I’m a 2 hander and can throw a backup ball from the right gutter to the left gutter and strike with 500+ rpm’s consistently
Omg how does he do that? Backward spin. Amazing!!!
He's a backup baller meaning he twists his wrist the opposite way its supposed to
Would be cool to see him bowl with your close up off the hand camera
There’s a back up bowler in AZ who’s averaging 230
I really need a new bowling ball
Hey Darren I am hoping this can get to Gee. I am a backup bowler as well (for about 20 years) and just wanted some advice on what bowls he uses that works well for him and if he could provide any tips I have stalled out in progress and since its very rare for there to be a good amount of backup bowlers I can't seem to find help. Thank you! Love your videos man!
Darren is sooooooo natural in front of the camera. Great job !!!!
Saw Gee bowl when I was in Vegas to practice before I went to the Open Championship.
When he finds that line, those pins fly.
When did Darren bowl 300 with the gold label?
Think it was his “I’m back” video. They didn’t show score but I looked like he threw a 300 in his last game
righty throwing a ball the curves right
when u said best backup bowler I throught u were bowling against simson lol and doesn't he work for Ronald hickland I see it on his jersey! I he ge got lessons from Ronald hickland! and he good bowler beside promoting his product lol
Backhanding everything is crazy
Darren got new shoes?
Speaking of urethane in league, on our Tuesday night The other team had three older men throwing urethane. 1 guy throwing a pitch black 7 mph up 10. Another guy throwing an old urethane rhino 9mph. And another guy who actaully throws it decent using a purple hammer...it was awful, the left lane was 5 boards tighter than the right lane 😂
If your ever in Eugene, Oregon, you might want to bowl with Glen Clark Jr. and Travis Warner at STRIKE CITY, HWY 99 North. Jeff True at FIRS BOWL, River Road near the Randy Pape Beltline.
Backup
Should bowl against a good wrong foot bowler
dude said you're in trouble then missed pocket 4 times in a row, I love bowling lol
I bet hes rolling that backup ball 485+ RPM. Thats some insane power he puts on it. Id be afraid my fingers wouldnt come out the ball clean and I'd snap my fingers😂
Being able to hook the ball either direction is a great skill. I’ve tried backing up (thumb in lefty) at my 7 pins and I just can’t do it accurately or consistently.
I wanted to see Gee shoot a 7 pin. Maybe he'd throw a normal hook
@@coopergates9680doubt it cause I never have
CTD represent
I love this video because I also use a backup
Yeah bring him back. He has an interesting style
The fact he is bowling it right handed and spinning right is huge compared to bowling right & spinning left is huge!!!!!!!!!!
this guy is insane
I used to throw a small backup ball to pick up 10 pins but quit because I was afraid I was putting too much stress on my elbow. Throwing a backup ball with that many revs makes my elbow hurt by just watching.
That’s wild!!! 💯💯💯
The Mintz family are from NY. Bowled UBA. Cool people. Cool to see him doing this video. Mom and dad are good bowlers as well.
2 fantastic bowlers!
Its good to see right hand dtang back at it!
best backup bowler no debating he was too smooth with it !!
Simo vs. Gee vs. Palermaa backup would be somethin' else. That Japanese lady, too
I like how Darren’s last strike was a Brooklyn - maybe he should have thrown a back up 😮
Watching Gee bowl is like watching Tom Smallwood, but in fast forward
Are those new shoes darren? If so what are they?
Fantastic video!
That guy is Fun to watch Bowl. Holy Crap!!!
i REAAAAAAAALLY love that green splash/tyedye ball or w/e the pattern is called...
i really really love it
That is some nasty work on that backup 🫢
I like that he throws motiv!
The endless tenth is activated on any fill ball strike (fyi)
been a back up bowler for 25 years. a pretty good one too.
Cool video talk tech bowling ball Darren tang
That paragraph joke has me dying 😂
I love the black venom it's soooo good
@Darren I ask coming to Vegas for Thanksgiving this year do you want to challenge?
A right handed bowler bowling left is wild
Wow, such a fascinating style. I didn't know that was a thing.
Lol. Darren, my channel has 320,000 subs. I met you in Shawnee when the pros bowled on the league teams or whatever in Oklahoma at Firelake! We should do a collaboration. Bowling or fishing. Or a combo. And my backup ball would kill this dudes. I can never decide if my regular 2 finger toss is better or my backwards ball
He’s really not bad his mechanics are just so dynamic they are hard to repeat
Very interesting throw from gee in my opinion
Glad D tang humbled my guy
I will go to Vegas and play you , been bowling 2 years im from texas , 2 finger 1 hander with a back ball
He can follow up Jason as another revolutionary bowler. Belmonte revolutionized two-handed bowling. This guy could revolutionize backup bowling.
Darren tang get this guy back on exciting to watch
That logo though.... Man Darren I want to do Pro v Am and I'm coming back to Vegas. I'll donate products for you to giveaway and a Storm Ball 😊
If darren was before creation he would be the big tang
Hope to see you in vegas august 19-23
Awesome vid
Wow! I'm a backup bowler, but this guy.....
I need lessons!
I bowled with him last weekend at Southpoint. Him and his family can flat out kill it.
Wait I thought this was a very very common way of shooting I found my style and it’s this one after bowling for about 4 hours straight first and came out w this technique in my own before watching any RUclips vids but now I can at least improve it
Maybe do a give away to one person every state!?! That would be a fair way to get to your fans in every state !
I have been bowling in league since 1979 and I used to have a rule - there is always one guy who is a backup bowler. But it has been a decade since I have seen one that is any good. I think they disappeared with the advent of two handed bowlers. This amateur definitely has a lot of power for a backup bowler. It is a strategic failure to shoot for the 10 pin with the 4-10 split.
Yeah, IDD. The 4 is as easy as the 10 to pick up if you are just going for one pin. Bu why not give yourself a chance at making the spare? The 4-10 is by no means easy, but for a lefty, or a guy bowling a backup ball like Gee, it's actually not super hard to make. I mean, if you leave a 2-8-10 as a righty, you basically have no shot at covering the split. But lefties have a decent shot at it, as does anyone throwing a big hooking back-up ball. I've seen Anthony Simonson go to his backup ball to make the 2-8-10 split. Gee is nowhere as good as Simo, but I don't understand why he shot at the 10 and didn't give himself any shot at covering that 4-10 split.
@@Ironfangzu Two years ago a righty on my team made the 2-8-10 by hitting the 2 slightly right of center, as it went back it or the ball nicked the left side of the 8 which fell over and hit the 10.
This guy looks really good, and he started with a scary double. But he ended up with a 165 game. I think the pressure of going up against DTang made him tighten up to throw way too many bad balls. By himself, with no pressure? I bet he throws 230 games easy. Haha
Definitely would love the challenge. 🤝🏽💯😅😎
Cool video talk tech bowling bowling ball Darren tang
Where is the submission form because I can’t find it
Is it just me or did Darren change his release?
That kid gone last for another 2 years max with that throw 😅😅
I did back up in bowling. it was fun to do
Have you face a backup bowling two handed
