@@Balance-222 It is EPIC. I get goosebumps every time I listen to this and because I'm also a musician, I pick a different instrument every time and makes it new...
Yabo when he sings "zizwe" there by the beginning? Kuvele kuphithaphithane ikhanda! The vocal range is insane. Nalosisi osibusisa ngezwi lakhe kwi chorus! Ugh man, African voices are insane and have hella range. The rasp voice in the whole of the second verse? Mxm ay abaniyeke 😭 this entire song nje Nkosi I cannot fault ngisho nento eyodwa! Every second is filled with soothing, calm, rasp and insane vocals! Nginishayela izandla
What's a Great Music , so Divine and Sacred. You are what our Ancestors are, they are living through you. Baba how I wish to be in your Presence one day. 🙏🙏🙏
Can't explain what happens to me when I listen to this. Don't know wether to call it a song. But it wouldn't be fitting. This is musical magic. Siphiwe. So much gift
This show Nandi which I watched it for the second time, is a riveting and a world class Zulu traditional masterpiece traditional dance show I have ever watched. It can only be compared to UMABATHA, a 1970 play written by the late South African playright, Welcome Msomi, which I was fortunate to have watched at Princess Magogo stadium, KwaMashu, more than 50 years ago, when I was a learner at Shayamoya LP school. It was an adaptation of Shakespear's Macbeth set in the Zulu Kingdom during the early 19th century, and details how Mabatha overthrows Dingane.
The story, show, the cast, the production, the design and the music come together like a beautiful thunderstorm. We want, we need more stories like this as a nation. Change the narrative about who we are as a people. South Africans have always been one, we just didnt know who we were according to todays society. Zulus, Ngunis, Tsongas, Sothos can take a slice of their identity and origin from this story, This is truly an African story, a masterpiece. Our story. And we love it, its beautiful. We understand that its a depiction of what was, but there is a relative truth of the real story Out of the ashes rose the phoenix that was Shaka, out of Africa, i hope a great nation can rise that is SA, away from battles of tribes, but together as an African people. This show speaks to many of todays issues, corruption, greed, war, cowardice and most importantly battle for identity, purpose. Take a page from Shakas and Nandis story, learn from it, own it. You are a child of the soil, they thought you were buried, but you sprout out of the ground because of the seed that you are. Khula ingane yaseNingizimu, khula Mzansi
I love most of what you have said. However, I will correct you here: This is a Zulu story focused on the formation of the Zulu Empire and the growth of Emperor Shaka kaSenzangakhona from being a baby to the legend that we all know him to be now. Pan-Africanism is a cool theory but its applications in real life are not feasible. Additionally, Pan-Africanism does not and should not call for the erasure of people's unique cultures and identities. This is not African history, as many regions and tribes, clans, and kingdoms have their own lineages and history; THIS is Nguni and specifically Zulu history. Stop trying to erase Zulu people's history with the intent of funneling us into Pan-Africanism. You can push for Pan-Africanism without trying to co-opt Zulu people's culture, lineage, history, achievements, and hard work to belong to every African tribe that doesn't even believe in Zulu philosophies, Zulu gods, and Zulu worldviews. Uma you want Zulu history to be Africans' history then bonke kumele bazokhonza KwaZulu.
Njomane is a clan name for the Mhlongo surname, like all clan names Njomane was one of offspring to Mhlongo. This song is praising Nandi , the mother of Shaka , and calling the Mhlongo clan names and praising her for giving birth to a chosen one.
