Appreciated This video is really helpful for telecom engineers that are interested in joining fixed network.

You are using the wrong connector first of all APC to the OTDR port with green tip u can use an adapter or crossover style patch cable for a green to blue style connectors

Brother it's not make any difference if we are using blue tip connector over green it's just give 1 or 2 db loss which is acceptable but it's a case of finding fiber fault we are not checking fiber port power . In case of power I accept that during power measurements we use same tip.blue to blue or green over green

Using the wrong connectors 😭. You could damage port on the OTDR by using the wrong connectors. Per EXFO.

I remember we were told to use these expensive tools as data centre techs in Microsoft.
No one in their right mind uses test equipment, at least not the data centre techs, most of the issues I find are resolved by re-seating optics and cleaning end to end, next is failed optics or wrong port configs, rarely do I see the need to use test equipment especially for the likes of the big data centres like Microsoft where you have to go to security to get a key then walk all the way back to the tools cabinet which is a complete waste of time, then walk all the way back with the key again, meanwhile you're expected to do xx amount of tickets lol, it just doesn't happen and for AOC cables you have to replace them anyway because the optics are integrated and they are much more common now and a complete waste of time and effort and cables.
It's easier to just go back get a new cable and replace it, where it's going through multiple hops and colos it's way easier just to reseat the optics and get the Network team to test.
usually the net tech is able to inform you of the light levels before when creating the ticket and handing it off to the DC tech.
Most common issues I find are
    1 optic re-seat
    2 dirty optics
    3 failed optics
    4 wrong port config
5 not seated correctly in patch panels
    5 cable.
I can see where the OTDR is handy for ISP stuff though.
One of the greatest tools is the loopback cable lol.
The greatest issue is when techs actually don't do the work they say they do and yet clam " oh I got a lot more tickets done than you "

Brother it depend upon company to company and the type of project. Well iam teaching the things as per my knowledge and I try my best to do from two years . Also you cannot teach softwares on RUclips due to confidential property of vendor .

@@telecommunicationstraining7085 I suppose these tools are essential for tele companies, but, as I said not much use in the data centre for DC techs.
