Studying this for a while. I think 800 is perfect. Keeps engine cooler, easier shifting (clunk), with charging and oiling at reasonable levels. A slower running engine just lasts longer IMHO. Compare high revving 4 cylinders to V8's.
Update: I recently dropped my idle on my twincam to 800 RPM using my Screaming Eagle Super Tuner Pro, SESTP. At 800, oil pressure is equal to 1000 approx. 30 psi. At 800 charging is approx. 12.5V. At 1000 its 13.5 v. Still safely above 12 volts. It is definitely easier to shift.
Well, I won't say its 100% safe for the engine coz it is out of factory default. But so far, its been more than a year I ride my bike everyday to work facing heavy traffic jam with that setting and it work fine without any failure indications. During the routine check with computer on the service station, it also showing that everything a okay. Just hope so.... \m/
Thanks. Those who modified the exhaust is a specialists. They don't replaced the original baffles, they just removed the dimple on the original baffles. So now you can see through the exhaust. Its like a free flow but still with a baffles.
touches the heart. ride safe bro.
