I was such a Lutte Grand Prix fan as a kid: Tarzan ''la bottine'' Tyler, Denis Gauthier (he owned the first gym I went to), André the Giant (then known as Jean Ferré--- greatest match ever was André VS two midgets:) ) Ricky Martel, the Rougeau brothers... I had hoped there would be some of those matches on RUclips, but sadly they were from before the VCR era...I would love to relive these memories!!

When I first started watching wrestling. Tarzan Tyler was the first heel I can remember in the WWWF. They were building him up to wrestle Pedro Moralas.

International Wrestling was awesome! What ever happened to Steve DiSalvo? I'm surprised he never became a huge name.

Yes. He was called King Tonga then. This was a promo for a match between him and Dino Bravo from 1984. King Tonga would go on to win the International Wrestling title from Dino Bravo in Montreal.

That "creme puff" is Meng/King Tonga considered the baddest man in wrestling, even other wrestlers were scared shitless when they went against him in the ring, and he could probably make you his bitch in about 10 seconds.

He did wrestle in Calgary and had a few try outs for the WWF and WCW. Unfortunately he apparently had an attitude problem which prevented him from going to the next step
