- Our last full day before the Hurricane hits so we tie up loose ends and get as prepared as we possibly can. Stay safe everyone!

If you don't have a waterproof safe, put any electronics, cameras, professional documents, and such in dry bags, and then inside your dishwasher. It is already waterproof. Turn off the water and unplug the power to it so you don't forget something is inside. Seal it up with duct tape from the outside for a 3 layer of water proofing.
EDIT: You will also want to remove the drain hose in the back and cap the drain outlet. This can be done by just putting a latex or nitrile shop glove over the outlet and put a hose clamp on it. You can usually just slide your dishwasher out from under the counter. There might be two or three screws to remove right under the counter lip in the front.
Put all of your soft furniture up on cheap chairs or plywood x's if you are able to get enough plywood.
If you get the amount of rain and flooding that Texas got, you'll want to help prevent your car's engines from being flooded if it does get that high. Disconnect the batteries and or remove them from the cars, and place high up on a shelf, so there is no way to short out things. If you have time, remove the ECU's and store them in your dishwasher as well. Remove the intake tubes from your cars and tape a latex or nitrile shop glove over the TB's. Remove the hose to your vacuum booster and cork that hose, as well as your PCV hose on the engine side. Seal up any other areas of your motors where water could could enter, like where the PVC plugs into the crank case. Cork up your exhaust if you can by stretching a latex or nitrile shop glove over the tip and tape in place.

You should definitely have the truck at home just in case you need to evacuate and in case of flood because the pit bike is small(to go get the truck like you said last vlog) and it will not drive throw 4 to 6ft water.
TiimzR nor will the Ford with no lift kit on it, if anything the pit pike can go around the puddles on the side walks were the Ford would have to go straight threw

The only way I wouldn't have my truck in my home garage would be if the house is in an area that has an extensive history of flooding or if the shop is 20' higher in elevation (if that were the case I'd move a bed and a fridge into the shop/storage and kick back as the generator kept lights on and the fridge kept food cool.
The truck won't do him any good if windows are smashed and there's debris covering it. He said it won't fit in the garage, so he'd have to leave it outside.

the s15 should be under what ever car is on the lift because you won't be able to lift the car very high in case of flooding

Not from grocery store shelves..lol People buy more then usual because they prepare for not being able to leave their home for a much longer time then normal. My father still hasnt been able to leave his house in Texas since harvey hit.
First band just came through here, about 35 MPH. I'm at about 15-20 MPH sustained winds right now. The rain is been on and off. The storm has not made the turn North yet. I'm pretty bored, going to play guitar while I have electric still.

Fingers crossed for you both! Just be sure to over prepare and use over protective measures wherever possible. Hurricanes are no "bad weather spell" they are an actual nightmare so you can never be too safe! If it misses great but if all hell brakes loose at least your prepared! Hope everyone in Florida stays safe, my friend there is busy bombproofing his house too! Good luck guys x

2 things: first, since you're anticipating your power going out, when that happens all of the stuff in your freezer is going to slowly heat up until the power comes back on. If your power's gonna be out for a few days or more it'll probably go bad. Second, why would the stores not be sold out of toilet paper?? It's something every single person needs. People don't know how long it'll be before they can go to a store again. Just two thoughts I had while watching this. Stay safe guys and good luck!

During the aftermath of the hurricane traveling is difficult do many people can't get out to get personal care items. There is also the fact that relief efforts will often bring in food and water, but many times don't bring hygiene products.

Some tips regarding hurricanes. Get some professional shutters, wether it be the steel accordian ones, or roll down. Rushing at the last minute is a terrible time to get supplies. Also, I'd focus much more on protecting the house over the cars. A window isn't a huge deal to replace, but once a window breaks in a hurricane it introduces all that wind inside the house and can lift the roof off much easier. Not to mention that much rain inside the house. Leading to a completely destroyed house (including the cars in the garage). Not saying don't protect the cars but definitely focus on getting the house secure. Also, as you are probably seeing by now you can't count on a hurricanes predicted path, it's not over till it's over and can change at any minute. Oh, and frozen pizza isn't good hurricane food unless you've got a gas oven or want to cook it on the grill. Most times you won't be able to use an oven off a small generator.
