I think the other way around. It was abandoned, and then partially scrapped by opportunists, removing the valuable parts.

Nöö, in Polen gibt es meines Wissens keine 44er mehr.

Schade klar Dampfloks sind nicht so Umweltfreundlich aber alle zu verschrotten ist nicht gut.
