    FINALLY! AN UP TO DATE AND AMAZING PRIEST VIDEO! Finally someone shares content from this class's perspective :P
    if i may, playing the game since the start and even during the playtests as a priest, i have a few tips to share from myself and other priests, to all of you c: (this is gunna be long i'm sorry)
    KEEP THIS IN MIND, at Level 20, priest stats are 4/6/9/24/15/30 (the spawn mace and orb boost Stamina and Will by +2, but you can swap them out for another staff or sword/orb so i didn't include their stats)
    1. Stat Priority
    For Priest, the stats you should pay most focus on finding in any gear you acquire should be faith = intelligence > stamina.
    - Faith boosts heals n shields, has two passives.
    - Intelligence boosts your elemental damage so your orb attacks, staff attacks, and even Divine Guidance will get flat damage boosts.
    - Stamina makes you harder to kill despite cloth armor AND that "mana on crit"? yeah headshots with the searing staff count as a crit, so you'll be SWIMMING in mana.
    (Personally, i recommend Intelligence and stamina first to help YOURSELF, then pump up that faith :P)
    2. Heirlooms
    I would recommend a Faith Necklace, Shoes, and a Searing Staff;
    - Even at just greens the standard Faith Necklace will give you +10 faith so BAM you already have the base faith passive at all times (Cleanse debuffs of anyone affected by your E skill).
    - Intelligence being your second highest stat means that like other casters you have some good elemental damage, staffs boost intelligence, ergo, more elemental damage (and this is passive, so even your Ice Damage from the orb attacks is boosted so long as the staff is equipped in your other weapon slot).
    - The Shoes in green quality immediately boost your crit chance by 35%, which is AMAZING since heals will crit, and if you have the stamina passive, that means +5 free mana per crit even if you miss a headshot.
    As for the first Enchantment Upgrades for said heirlooms?
    - Necklace and Shoes should get +6 Intelligence, this means you're getting +12. so 24 to 36 INT, the staff boosts that to 46, so even a WHITE ring of intelligence will give you the INT Passive
    - Staff should have Max Damage Increase Stack on Kill / Attack Damage at Full Life. will explain in step 3.
    Enchantments in general?
    - Major Attributes; Faith, Intelligence, Stamina, Other. you're basically just trying to fill the gaps to activate thresholds you may be just barely missing
    - Major Attack; Mad Damage Increase on Kill / Attack Damage at Full Life. IF YOUR OTHER TEAMMATES TOOK DAMAGE STACK ON KILL, DONT TAKE IT. you don't need all three of you fighting for those stacks.
    - Major Defense; Max Life Stacks on Kill > Max Life. Self Explanatory, which to pick? see the previous for Attack Enchantments
    Of course, there are some exceptions you can weasel out for some cheeky tactics such as;
    - +4 Mana on hit: Searing Staff + Divine Guidance + Faithful? oh buddy literally infinite mana for strong continuous fights
    - CD Reduction: easy, less cooldowns, more skill spam, more heals n shields
    - shielding bonus/healing bonus, again self explanatory
    3. Healing/Skill Math.
    The math for your heals is, Weapon Damage Holding * Damage in Stat * Healing Bonus(Shielding Bonus) in Stat * Skill Coefficient
    this is why you want max damage, not Elemental Damage or Physical Damage, PURE damage. this is also why you want to HOLD your staff before you cast your heals, because the staffs have higher damage numbers, ergo, more healing.
    4. Skills Options
    Both the heals are fine, depends on your comp. If you want to get the most healing per second DG is great for AOE heals but Cleanse is awesome for single target burst heals. i recommend FOR THE MOMENT THO that while the 3-6s invulnerability of Divine Protection is awesome, Guard is way better because that shield lasts a minute, you can stack it with shield flasks, and you can keep topping it off with guard while KEEPING spare guard casts at hand.
    5. Solo Priest
    Don't play priest solo right now, it's an absolute nightmare. also in trios you COULD be convinced to run a Druid in your team over the Cryomancer that way no one is fighting for so much of the gear (Cryo and Priest both wear cloth). they still give good zone control and shadow damage.
    6. Self Defense
    Avoid melee as much as possible. Remember you have at least Strength, Dex, and Stamina stats of the classes. Also you're stuck in cloth armor. If you HAVE TO FIGHT A MELEE FIGHT? try to abuse the ice magic of orb. slow the enemy down, and then hit them with a Searing Staff beam, Ice Wave-> Searing Staff-> Ice Wave-> Searing Staff-> Ice Wave-> Searing Staff.
    repeat until your out of 3 ice charges or the enemy is in melee distance with you. In which case pop your E Skill and just start swinging and aim for the head with those Ice Buffed melee hits...
    You cannot run, as you're also one of the slowest classes due to your low Dex.
    7. Orb/Mace or Orb/Sword?
    - Sword has faster swings and better recovery animations if they miss a swing, can combo swings even if they miss, have more reach than mace, and have a diagonal slash as a ranged attack from orb, and have Dex and crit chance as their main attribute stats.
    - Maces, despite being slower, more punishing on misses, and less reach, get stamina and max health as their base attributes (which is a stat we love as priest), has an Ice Wave attack that is actually harder to dodge imho, and have arguable the best combo melee chain in the game. infinite combo that is an overhead so it has an easier time landing crits? maces arguable have the highest dps of melee in the game IF you keep landing headshots.
    personally, go Orb/Mace, it's very self defense oriented, and that's all it needs to be, you're main source of attacking stuff will be your searing staff anyway.
    and there you go, a massive list on things priest, if you want more tips for a player in general, i may just put that in a reply to this comment as this is long enough as is :P
    Have a good one Brothers and Sisters, I hope you all have many victories with your friends.

      @@meganobgutzkraka2398 I’m curious if going full crit on heirlooms is better than damage since your heals can crit? Seems like trying to get to 100% crit chance would make for stronger heals than going for damage bonuses. Also would help with infinite mana from fire staff. Thoughts on that?

    i personally think the shield is better. it lasts for 60 seconds and it applies a shield to the entire party, assuming everyone's within range. and the cooldown time is shorter than the damage immunity skill.
    You can cast the shield pre-emptively before charging into a fight, it'll cooldown while the fighting goes down, and you'd likely be able to cast it again while the fighting is still going.
    It helps your team soak up the initial volley of skills at the start of the engagement and the longer duration makes it more manageable. coupling this with shielding potions is also pretty effective.

    I do like the área Q if u are going with no gear but if u have atleast Will, Int and first Faith passive i like more the target Q
    Guard E with area shield will always be the best imo

    Telling new/bad players to play priest is so, so counter productive, it is not only the hardest class to make it work, that more often than not it is just having 1 person less in the team. Even most if not all the clips showned the priest was just wouldnt make a difference and against half decent parties it is just a 2 vs 3

    • @thoughtgaming492
      @thoughtgaming492 4 месяца назад +1

      Not to mention what he says about fighter whirlwind. Against a competent enemy the ability does nothing. You can literally just block the entire thing. His team and his comp is basically just an anti noob team but against anyone who knows what they’re doing this team would get stomped with no competition

    • @VNdoug
      @VNdoug 3 месяца назад

      It seems kind of a pointless class at the moment. Why bother healing my teammate for 200HP if I can do a single longsword attack and do that much damage to the enemy instead, turning the fight into a 3v2 quicker?

    • @thoughtgaming492
      @thoughtgaming492 3 месяца назад

      @@VNdoug I mean it’s not as simple as that. A player dodging and blocking means that guaranteed healing CAN outpace potential damage, but yeah either way the priest is not in a good spot. They said a rework is coming though

    You mathematically can't make the priest make sense.
    It needs more, if it can't have a good dex passive then it's condemned to be slow. If it's gonna be slow with no peel, then give it heavy armor and call it a cleric.
    The issue with priest is you can do nothing to getting blitzed by melee.
    A rogue is gonna just cc the melee your with and rape you.
    With heal pots being the way they are and the recent buff to shield flask there is quite literally no reason to play this class outside of 3s.
    Even the devs stated they are looking into changing the class up

    I like priest but in almost all situations cryomancer is better than priest. Cryomancer does more damage, has a lot of crowd control, and can shield allies. The fights in this game are who can kill each other the fastest. Having a priest slows your team dying but effectively priest does very little damage. So it is really 2v3.

    • @stirred1
      @stirred1  4 месяца назад

      I’ve personally really been enjoying having both a cryomancer and a priest on the team. I think their supportive abilities synergize really well with a fighter.

      @jordank5551 4 месяца назад

      Yep then a rogue turns your crymancer to stone ignores the fighter that can't hit him without maybe a good Q after a thunderflask, maybe; then kills the priest in about 4 seconds

    Fighter could be good in your team comp, but i think dk is better overall. Because the whirlwind ability is situational. If you play against other melee classes that actually know how to counter your fighter they would block almost all or even all damage done by the whirlwind ability. So in some team fights that ability gets totally nullified and you just wasted a skill. I’d rather go for consistency with a dk that has crowd control, dmg reduction and skills that cannot be blocked for more consistent team fights so you don’t have to worry about what the other team comps are. I’m always laughing at fighters that are using whirlwind at me because i know they do no dmg to me and in some of my builds even heal me. Even if they try to third party me with their whirlwind ability while being under 50% hp they cannot kill me. So tldr; either use the other ability or go for dk for more consistent team fights.
