Had my Armada since 2019. Totally trouble free, fits our family of six perfect. Fast if you push it and tows like a truck. Only downside is fuel economy, but for what I bought it, it will buy me gas for the next 10 years or more :-)

This is a well built Japanese suv with great fit and finish, workmanship and a proven design. Of note, I believe that adaptive cruise control is standard on all trims, whereas chevys, gmcs and fords, one has to buy the higher trim levels to get all the bells and whistles. For a reasonable price, as much as 20,000 less than the competition (20,000 will buy a lot of gas) you get a vey solidly built suv….and it has a console shifter!
A used one with an updated info center (2021 and up) legit one owner-non rental with low miles at under 40K is possible to find. Bad mpg would be my only negative in that case.
Is there a point where a solid buy is actually better than a "better" buy? I'd like to think so, not sure if the Armada is it, but I appreciate solid and established vehicles that will perform well for years to come (and if ever an issue arises is backed by a long model history and robust parts and serviceability).
How much more tech do you really want? Drove an Armada for the last three days. I like the price, the v8 towing capacity, especially sitting up high. Not the most comfortable full size SUV; I’m 6’4”. Still a great choice for a big SUV. Gas consumption is the ONLY negative here.
It's just ok. Fuel economy is not the best. Roomy for what I use it for. The carplay seems to be wiggy disengaging every so often on long drives. Not the best on luggage storage when you have a full house on passengers. I have to push the back row seats down to get all our luggage to fit.
Japanese SUVs are doomed. They still using decades old techs, they don't offer as many features as their rivals, and yet they still charge premium prices. Kia and Hyundai will fully replace Japanese in the coming years, becoming the main rivals against European.

But for general family users, would you rather pay the same money for a reliable conservative Japanese car with way less features, or for something contemporary, and packed with high tech features like European or U.S made?

4 runner 4.0 v 6 engine one of the best Toyota engines and 5 sp transmission are bulletproof. Yes not that much power. Armada is nice too and pretty reliable but it’s not come close to 4 runner reliability. Take care of it will run forever.

Being a Nissan fan and previous Nissan owner, the Armada has always been independent rear suspension. A quick look of the under carriage behind the rear tires will reveal so. Thanks for the demo.
Just traded our 2019 Armada for a 2023. We don’t need the 3rd row everyday so it’s perfectly sized for when we do. My wife also loves that it’s interior is updated, but not as high tech as the Volvo XC90 we had. Fuel economy sucks, but you gotta pay to play V8. And it still gets 400 miles + per tank on road trips.
These short wheelbase body-on-frame SUVs are a non-starter for families that really need a 3rd row. The hatch is nearly unusable and third row only fits children.
I don't think third row size is an issue, but trunk space sure is if you plan on road-tripping. Kids probably wouldn't outgrow the 3rd row until age 12 or so? So this vehicle would work for over half the time the kids are in the house.
@@henrybrar I can think of several reasons...car seats strapped into the 2nd row, family members visiting, older children. Happens all the time in my household. I have four children, three of whom are now adults. When we have the grandparents, we're using every single seat. And you can forget about tossing luggage in the back when the 3rd row is in use. These short wheelbase body-on-frame vehicles are really for people that rarely use a 3rd row.

Redesign armada keep the v8 bur buff it nd give a 470 hp nd use the tt v6 as base engine also make it roomy for maximum cargo space of 120 cubic ft then do an xl like a expedition or suburban and offer 150 cubic feet
I rode in the very back and drove one of these Platinum Editions...... the ride was terrible. I get it, it's body on frame, but some other brands handle the ride quality so much better.
no they don’t. nobody buys big SUVs for gas savings lol. if they can manage to keep the V8 and still offer a TTV6 that would be ideal. but just note that turbo 6s don’t get that much better MPGs than their larger displacement counterparts

I love the Armada. Almost got one but instead went for a 4Runner. Armada wouldn't fit in my garage. Wanted an old school SUV still made in Japan.

So why do adults need to sit in back when the kids in family can sit in 3rd row?

I actually like the Seqouia especially the luxury oriented trims. I personally would choose the Wagoner’s with the Inline-6.
My 2014 Ford Explorer with the V6 and 153,000 + miles is still strong!
