- Today I am continuing on with our page from Rita Berman's brand new book Meine Reise durch Asien. For this picture I am using my Prismacolor pencils, and I'll give a comparison of Polychromos vs Prismacolor, and how they work differently to each other.
I will show you how to blend and how to burnish using coloured pencils, and I'll show how to shade with coloured pencils.
Wax-based pencils like Prismacolor work very differently to oil-based colours like Polychromos, so the technique used is different between the two.

Thank you for another beautiful tutorial, l need them to convince myself that l can at least try to colour with pencils - and in such lovely books ❤
I can't wait until my copy arrives. Its just wonderful looking. Such a lovely color along. I learned a lot. Elizabeth
Me too! It looks absolutely beautiful, and I’m so glad to have this page to work on in the meantime. Thanks for watching 💖
WOW! Beautiful color blending.
Thank you so much. I’m glad you like it 💖
I’m a polychromos gal myself as well. You did great with the prisma. I find them challenging to control and I find that I enjoy the technique of laying down colors and smearing it with white when coloring petals or fabric with them. Clean crisp parts of the picture I will go back to my polys 😄 we all find our way eventually lol. Thx for sharing here! Beautiful!!
Yes, that’s exactly my feelings too. I feel so much more in control with my Polychromos. Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment 💖
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching 💖
Incredible amazing!!! Love it soooo much❣ Thanks for sharing your talent ❤
Thank you so much for watching ❤️❤️
This is gorgeous Marit 🙌🏼🙌🏼🤩
Thank you so much ❤️
This was the most strenuous coloring I’ve done with you. So tiny and so many colors. Thank You! Would love for you to use Albrecht Duer watercolor Fabre Castell pencils. Sometime would you be willing to talk about how you select colors. Thanks 😊
Yes, it’s definitely harder to do the small detail with Prismacolor. I’m actually editing the next picture now, and have in fact used Albrecht Dürer pencils for that one 😃 it’ll be up in a 1.5 days.
This is an absolutely stunning little square! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you so much 💙🏮💚
I've ordered the book so I can follow all of your video. It's just going to be a couple weeks before its gets delivered 🙃 😊
Hope you enjoy it! This particular picture was from the free promotional download Rita did, but you’ll find very similar pictures in the book too, so it would be easy enough to adapt this tutorial to those pages.
Wow that's nice! 🤩👍
Thank you so much 💚🏮💙
very pretty
Thank you so much 💙❤️🏮
Great tutorial , but unfortunately I don't have those pictures in my book . I have the German version , may be it's different . Anyway , it's helpful to watch , thank you 😊😊Petra
This was a free download she made for the release of the book. While you won’t find the exact same pictures, there are several similar ones in there. Not sure if the download is still available on her website. Thanks so much for watching ❤️
@@MaritsColourfulAdventures Thank you for the note 👍it is still available 😍😍😍
I've just received the book, l was going to ask the same question... Alas there's no more freebie on Rita Berman's page, but l'll try another one with your tutorial, Marit ❤️
I'd love to see Pablo's or Luminance if you have them ❤
At this point I don’t have either of those pencils (I’d love them, but out of my price rage for the moment). Maybe in the future. I have seen Emily Illustrator use Pablo’s before, so she’s definitely one to check out in the meantime.
Where did you find this in English?
As far as I know there’s no English version available. It’s all in german. This particular page was a free download from Rita back when the Meine Reise Durch Asien was first released.
