Absolutely an amazing song, been listening to it on loop while I’ve been working on my ruin dlc Roxy cosplay and props for my friend’s Cassie cosplay! (Which Shawn saw on tiktok!, I was the one who made the Vanny mask with this playing in the background 😅 ), will always be a favorite of mine 😁
I just realized, after several repeats, that this song has a double meaning for me... Some backstory: I used to be friends with toxic people who just kept using me for their own gain and just dragged me in an emotional circle and just gaslighted me when I tried to speak my mind. Always found some way to pin it on me after I bend my back 'till it broke in order to help them out with their own constant problems. But yeah, they never really did repay the favor that well... It was mostly online work for passion projects they wanted to make. When I say "they" it was mostly one friend, with an occasional other two, three friends, but yeah. And in this songs, lyrics go as this: "I found myself stuck in your ruin" "You wouldn't help, you just put me through it. I can't trust you now" "You made me feel like I was your puppet. Wish you would just leave me alone, I don't want it." Which heavily reminded me of those toxic "friends". How they used me as their puppet for a punching bag, and errand boy. And these lyrics remind me of when I finally broke ties with them: "You're lost and stuck in your own ways". After I broke free, they still acted like they were better than me. And the "Maybe that's why you're so f---ing lonely" hits home to that fact. "You can't break me down". After dealing with their toxicity, I won't be affected by it again. I won't be broken down again. "You caught me in your ruin, put me through it" "I've changed and I'm searching for safety" Those lyrics say to me that they were probably dealing with their own issues and just putting it on me. I don't know. But after I left, I wasn't sure I could trust anyone again. I've lost my mind after that and i've become more self concious and I put myself down a lot more because I was in the mindset that maybe I was wrong about everything. And these final lyrics hit it home for me. "I've changed and i'm searching for my peace" Luckily I found it after finding other, real friends, that actually cared for me. And found peace from those days. Thanks for reading
I am glad I am not the only one who took the lyrics that way. I heard this and also got hid hard by the lyrics and I am glad someone put them to a comment section way better than what I could have done cuz sometimes my brain goes brrr with words lol. Well put speaking for many who saw the song from more than just one angle with the theme, you did it elegantly. I kinda had a situation like this myself but with an awful ex who lets just say there is no redeeming him for his 'ruin' he is stuck in and refuses to better himself for.. Like ol William; he hurt alot more than just me and refuses to realize his errors. I found my peace with a wonderful guy who is teaching me to trust again and helping me to heal and show what real love is. Not what my ex put me through. I am glad you got outta your situation and are healing too, bravo you walk tall for that achievement.

something weird ive just realized is that it feels like the ruin animatronics arent as terrifying because now instead of possessed animatronics its AI. AI that is effectively people, sure but still, AI. So these ruined animatronics feel more like appliances that have been left to the elements rather than terrifying zombies that are trapped between this mortal coil and the cold touch of death. This is also the reason why I hate the idea of glitch trap being the mimic. I mean its a *little* scary to think about the implications of self-taught AI and what that can do when it goes off the rails, get's data it shouldnt... but honestly just not as scary as the idea of a child murderer who literally can not die, worming his way back to life via any means necessary purely to continue his psychopathic tirades. Its a similar reason to zombies being scary but plus intent. Which makes it worse. It just being an AI removes both. No real intent because an AI cant *have* intent. And of course the zombie element is gone.
I know this is a FNAF song, but it kind of reminds me of the relationship between the Arch-Illager and the Orb of Dominance, which was controlling the Arch-Illager in a sense, manipulating him to do its bidding.

My FNAF timeline and story. Prologue (1951-1982) 1951: a boy who is 7 named William afton went to a circus and saw a dancing bear on the stage where William Afton has the idea of making that fun for kids. 1956: William afton met a beautiful girl named Julie afton and they both loved the dancing circus bear on the stage. 1962: William afton made drawings of a bear, a bunny, a chick, and a fox hanging out together and going on adventures. 1967: William afton becomes friends with Henry Emily. 1969: Michael afton was born. 1970: William and Henry established Fazbear entertainment. 1972: they opened Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria and Fredbear's family diner. 1973: Elizabeth afton and Charlotte Emily were born. 1975: William afton decides to open circus babies pizzeria and circus babies rental to where guests could go have fun at and where people could buy their own animatronics. Michael afton made 3 friends Andrew, Jeremy, and the phone guy. 1977: Evan afton (cc) was born. 1978: another Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria opened with toy animatronics. 1981: the pizzerias became a huge success and William's dream came true and his wife and 3 kids were very happy with his ideas. Fazbear incidents (1983-1993) May 1983: Evan Afton has been experiencing nightmares of animatronics attacking him inside his room. July 1983: Evan was turning 6 and Michael afton was eating pizza with his 3 friends at Fredbear's family diner. Andrew asks if he could pull a prank on his brother Evan by kissing fredbear. Michael afton accepted it. Unfortunately Michael afton accidentally kills Evan afton in the Fredbear's mouth when it crushed his head. Evan died from his injuries and possessed golden Freddy. October 1983: Julie afton died from a car crash after she left Michael, Elizabeth, and William behind. William afton blamed Fazbear entertainment for the deaths of his son Evan and wife Julie. June 1985: 5 kids were enjoying the entertainment at Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria as they watched the animatronics sing. A guy in a springbonnie suit lures the kids inside the storeroom and reveals himself as William afton. William afton kills 5 kids at Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria. Golden Freddy (Evan afton) puts gifts next to the corpses and inside were animatronics and the souls took over them to get revenge on William. August 1985: Henry Emily installed a security puppet to protect his daughter Charlotte Emily at the pizzeria. William afton dressed as springbonnie lured her out of the pizzeria into a backlot and killed her. Charlotte's soul takes over the puppet. April 1986: Elizabeth afton went with her father at circus babies pizzeria to see the circus baby animatronic. She tries to get the ice cream from the animatronic but she is clawed inside it. The animatronics were moved to circus babies rental after that. June 1986: Michael afton went to the pizzeria to find his sister Elizabeth afton. He saw 2 technicians come in and were killed by one of the animatronics and listened to a recording back in 1975 about the circus baby animatronic. He was scooped by ennard but survived due to remnants from the scooper. June 1987: Michael afton went to the second Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria that has toy animatronics after William afton killed 5 more kids at Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria. Golden Freddy (Evan afton) resurrects the souls inside the toy animatronics making them aggressive to security guards and calm to guests and families. Jeremy Fitzgerald was bitten by mangle and died from his injuries. July 1993: Michael afton was hired as a nightguard at the first Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria to patrol the office. but was fired for tampering with the animatronics and odor. The phone guy died. October 1993: William afton went back to the pizzeria to destroy the animatronics thinking it will kill the souls. The souls were released from the animatronics and golden Freddy (Evan afton) appeared to get their revenge on William. William ran into the storeroom and hid in his springbonnie suit to protect himself as the 5 souls and golden Freddy followed him. William afton was springlocked in the springbonnie suit and died from it and the 5 souls William afton killed and Evan afton were released to heaven. Michael afton and the puppet (Charlotte Emily) were happy that the souls of the 5 missing kids and Evan afton were released to heaven and William afton being springlocked. Michael afton and the puppet (Charlotte Emily) choose to live in shadows together in the underground facility. Freddy Fright attraction and Freddy Fazbear's pizza place (July 2023- October 2023) July 2023: the former owners of Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria opened up a fright attraction that talks about the Fazbear incidents in 1983-1993. The springbonnie animatronic came to life and started terrorizing guests at the attraction and summoned phantom animatronics. Michael afton and the puppet (Charlotte Emily) saw on the news that William afton is alive as a monster called Springtrap. Michael afton Burns the attraction down but springtrap survives it. October 2023: Michael afton and the puppet (Charlotte Emily) meets Henry Emily who opened Freddy Fazbear's pizza place for a plan to stop Williams madness and Free the souls. Henry burns the pizza place down and dies along with Michael, The puppet (Charlotte Emily), and the animatronics. FNAF help wanted, special delivery, and curse of dreadbear (2031) June 2031: A woman named Vanessa who works at Freddy's funtime complex as a janitor. She was tested on a VR simulator game that talks about the Fazbear incidents in 1983-1993 and 2023. July 2031: Vanessa was transferred to Freddy Fazbear's pizzaplex. FNAF security breach (May 2034) 14 kids were enjoying the entertainment at Freddy Fazbear's pizzaplex and watched glamrock animatronics Freddy, chica, Roxy, and Monty sing. The entity possessed the animatronics except Freddy. Vanessa was also possessed as well she dressed as vanny and killed 13 kids except Gregory which he hid in Freddy's stomach. Gregory and Freddy make a plan to survive. Vanessa went into the pizzaplex and found Gregory inside no longer possessed by the entity. Vanessa, Gregory, and Freddy left the pizzaplex and started a new life together. FNAF security breach ruins dlc (August 2034) Cassie went to the abandoned pizzaplex which had fallen into ruins and was being lured in by the mimic using Gregory's voice in her walkie talkie and speakers through the pizzaplex. She was chased by creepy animatronics and the entity that lives in the pizzaplex. She went into the elevator and was injured and unconscious but survived. Roxy found her and escaped the pizzaplex. Cassie woke up outside the pizzaplex and found Vanessa, Gregory, and Freddy living at a small house. Cassie is happy to see them. Roxy apologized to Gregory and Freddy for the way she acted. Gregory, Vanessa, Roxy, Freddy, and Cassie lived happily together as a beautiful family. What do you think about this story and timeline?

I just realized, after several repeats, that this song has a double meaning for me...
Some backstory: I used to be friends with toxic people who just kept using me for their own gain and just dragged me in an emotional circle and just gaslighted me when I tried to speak my mind. Always found some way to pin it on me after I bend my back 'till it broke in order to help them out with their own constant problems. But yeah, they never really did repay the favor that well... It was mostly online work for passion projects they wanted to make.
When I say "they" it was mostly one friend, with an occasional other two, three friends, but yeah.
And in this songs, lyrics go as this:
"I found myself stuck in your ruin"
"You wouldn't help, you just put me through it. I can't trust you now"
"You made me feel like I was your puppet. Wish you would just leave me alone, I don't want it."
Which heavily reminded me of those toxic "friends". How they used me as their puppet for a punching bag, and errand boy. And these lyrics remind me of when I finally broke ties with them:
"You're lost and stuck in your own ways". After I broke free, they still acted like they were better than me. And the "Maybe that's why you're so f---ing lonely" hits home to that fact.
"You can't break me down". After dealing with their toxicity, I won't be affected by it again. I won't be broken down again.
"You caught me in your ruin, put me through it"
"I've changed and I'm searching for safety"
Those lyrics say to me that they were probably dealing with their own issues and just putting it on me. I don't know. But after I left, I wasn't sure I could trust anyone again. I've lost my mind after that and i've become more self concious and I put myself down a lot more because I was in the mindset that maybe I was wrong about everything. And these final lyrics hit it home for me.
"I've changed and i'm searching for my peace"
Luckily I found it after finding other, real friends, that actually cared for me. And found peace from those days.

I kinda had a situation like this myself but with an awful ex who lets just say there is no redeeming him for his 'ruin' he is stuck in and refuses to better himself for.. Like ol William; he hurt alot more than just me and refuses to realize his errors. I found my peace with a wonderful guy who is teaching me to trust again and helping me to heal and show what real love is. Not what my ex put me through.

This song was so awesome!!! Shawn is always bringing out bangers every time when he comes out of the blue for a track or two! Hope we get to hear more from him than we did in the past! something weird ive just realized is that it feels like the ruin animatronics arent as terrifying because now instead of possessed animatronics its AI. AI that is effectively people, sure but still, AI.
So these ruined animatronics feel more like appliances that have been left to the elements rather than terrifying zombies that are trapped between this mortal coil and the cold touch of death.
This is also the reason why I hate the idea of glitch trap being the mimic.
I mean its a *little* scary to think about the implications of self-taught AI and what that can do when it goes off the rails, get's data it shouldnt... but honestly just not as scary as the idea of a child murderer who literally can not die, worming his way back to life via any means necessary purely to continue his psychopathic tirades. Its a similar reason to zombies being scary but plus intent. Which makes it worse.
It just being an AI removes both. No real intent because an AI cant *have* intent. And of course the zombie element is gone.

Prologue (1951-1982)
1951: a boy who is 7 named William afton went to a circus and saw a dancing bear on the stage where William Afton has the idea of making that fun for kids.
1956: William afton met a beautiful girl named Julie afton and they both loved the dancing circus bear on the stage.
1962: William afton made drawings of a bear, a bunny, a chick, and a fox hanging out together and going on adventures.
1967: William afton becomes friends with Henry Emily.
1969: Michael afton was born.
1970: William and Henry established Fazbear entertainment.
1972: they opened Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria and Fredbear's family diner.
1973: Elizabeth afton and Charlotte Emily were born.
1975: William afton decides to open circus babies pizzeria and circus babies rental to where guests could go have fun at and where people could buy their own animatronics. Michael afton made 3 friends Andrew, Jeremy, and the phone guy.
1977: Evan afton (cc) was born.
1978: another Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria opened with toy animatronics.
1981: the pizzerias became a huge success and William's dream came true and his wife and 3 kids were very happy with his ideas.
Fazbear incidents (1983-1993)
May 1983: Evan Afton has been experiencing nightmares of animatronics attacking him inside his room.
July 1983: Evan was turning 6 and Michael afton was eating pizza with his 3 friends at Fredbear's family diner. Andrew asks if he could pull a prank on his brother Evan by kissing fredbear. Michael afton accepted it. Unfortunately Michael afton accidentally kills Evan afton in the Fredbear's mouth when it crushed his head. Evan died from his injuries and possessed golden Freddy.
October 1983: Julie afton died from a car crash after she left Michael, Elizabeth, and William behind. William afton blamed Fazbear entertainment for the deaths of his son Evan and wife Julie.
June 1985: 5 kids were enjoying the entertainment at Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria as they watched the animatronics sing. A guy in a springbonnie suit lures the kids inside the storeroom and reveals himself as William afton. William afton kills 5 kids at Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria. Golden Freddy (Evan afton) puts gifts next to the corpses and inside were animatronics and the souls took over them to get revenge on William.
August 1985: Henry Emily installed a security puppet to protect his daughter Charlotte Emily at the pizzeria. William afton dressed as springbonnie lured her out of the pizzeria into a backlot and killed her. Charlotte's soul takes over the puppet.
April 1986: Elizabeth afton went with her father at circus babies pizzeria to see the circus baby animatronic. She tries to get the ice cream from the animatronic but she is clawed inside it. The animatronics were moved to circus babies rental after that.
June 1986: Michael afton went to the pizzeria to find his sister Elizabeth afton. He saw 2 technicians come in and were killed by one of the animatronics and listened to a recording back in 1975 about the circus baby animatronic. He was scooped by ennard but survived due to remnants from the scooper.
June 1987: Michael afton went to the second Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria that has toy animatronics after William afton killed 5 more kids at Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria. Golden Freddy (Evan afton) resurrects the souls inside the toy animatronics making them aggressive to security guards and calm to guests and families. Jeremy Fitzgerald was bitten by mangle and died from his injuries.
July 1993: Michael afton was hired as a nightguard at the first Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria to patrol the office. but was fired for tampering with the animatronics and odor. The phone guy died.
October 1993: William afton went back to the pizzeria to destroy the animatronics thinking it will kill the souls. The souls were released from the animatronics and golden Freddy (Evan afton) appeared to get their revenge on William. William ran into the storeroom and hid in his springbonnie suit to protect himself as the 5 souls and golden Freddy followed him. William afton was springlocked in the springbonnie suit and died from it and the 5 souls William afton killed and Evan afton were released to heaven.
Michael afton and the puppet (Charlotte Emily) were happy that the souls of the 5 missing kids and Evan afton were released to heaven and William afton being springlocked. Michael afton and the puppet (Charlotte Emily) choose to live in shadows together in the underground facility.
Freddy Fright attraction and Freddy Fazbear's pizza place (July 2023- October 2023)
July 2023: the former owners of Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria opened up a fright attraction that talks about the Fazbear incidents in 1983-1993. The springbonnie animatronic came to life and started terrorizing guests at the attraction and summoned phantom animatronics. Michael afton and the puppet (Charlotte Emily) saw on the news that William afton is alive as a monster called Springtrap. Michael afton Burns the attraction down but springtrap survives it.
October 2023: Michael afton and the puppet (Charlotte Emily) meets Henry Emily who opened Freddy Fazbear's pizza place for a plan to stop Williams madness and Free the souls. Henry burns the pizza place down and dies along with Michael, The puppet (Charlotte Emily), and the animatronics.
FNAF help wanted, special delivery, and curse of dreadbear (2031)
June 2031: A woman named Vanessa who works at Freddy's funtime complex as a janitor. She was tested on a VR simulator game that talks about the Fazbear incidents in 1983-1993 and 2023.
July 2031: Vanessa was transferred to Freddy Fazbear's pizzaplex.
FNAF security breach (May 2034)
14 kids were enjoying the entertainment at Freddy Fazbear's pizzaplex and watched glamrock animatronics Freddy, chica, Roxy, and Monty sing. The entity possessed the animatronics except Freddy. Vanessa was also possessed as well she dressed as vanny and killed 13 kids except Gregory which he hid in Freddy's stomach. Gregory and Freddy make a plan to survive. Vanessa went into the pizzaplex and found Gregory inside no longer possessed by the entity. Vanessa, Gregory, and Freddy left the pizzaplex and started a new life together.
FNAF security breach ruins dlc (August 2034)
Cassie went to the abandoned pizzaplex which had fallen into ruins and was being lured in by the mimic using Gregory's voice in her walkie talkie and speakers through the pizzaplex. She was chased by creepy animatronics and the entity that lives in the pizzaplex. She went into the elevator and was injured and unconscious but survived. Roxy found her and escaped the pizzaplex. Cassie woke up outside the pizzaplex and found Vanessa, Gregory, and Freddy living at a small house. Cassie is happy to see them. Roxy apologized to Gregory and Freddy for the way she acted. Gregory, Vanessa, Roxy, Freddy, and Cassie lived happily together as a beautiful family.
