AFAIK waikiki is the only place in Hawaii with a high enough persons-per-area density to be able to do the "street photography" stereotype. even downtown honolulu seems deserted comparatively. i don't get to waikiki often enough for it to be a regular thing, and i did get a couple tips from your vid. thanks! once when i posted a photo from waikiki walls and tagged it #streetphotography i got a comment "where's the street?" i think when you're shooting in Hawaii you gotta adopt a very, very broad definition of "street". in my view, any photos of anybody, anywhere, from a documentary/observational viewpoint is "street". at least I think of what I'm doing as "street photography" even though there is no pavement in sight. cool vid! mahalo!
You’re right. It doesn’t have to be “street” really just has to be public space or candid. You could photograph something or someone at foodland and it’s candid and still be “street photography”. Thanks for watching! See you in Waikiki!

Glad I found your video, I am vacationing in Waikiki in June and wasn't really sure what to expect for some street photography. I mostley shoot film and will be bringing several cameras to capture as much as I can. Asides from Waikiki I am going to be going to other parts of the Island to photograph some nature.

Oh ya just like any metro city. Unfortunately
