I think Karma's main issue is something a lot of games fall into, that being that while trying to convey a message, it forgot that inconveniencing the player doesn't necessarily always convey what they want. There's a different between smartly conveying something and still making it functionally annoying without being too much and just making it too overbearing and therefore...well, stressful, lol. And yea, I get the point is stress, but there's a point where it actively hampers the game design. Maybe more clarity in things like purchases etc would've fixed this.
I was just thinking about that too. From what I've seen, it seems like there's an element (perhaps accidental) of inducing irl stress in the player too from the appearance, to the constant movement of edges, to the stress of trying to figure out how to move forward while not overloading on your stress levels. But it's missing an element of decreasing irl stress levels too. I'm not sure how they would manipulate the player's emotions in that way to match what they're trying to do with the mechanics, but I think if the player felt that balancing act between trying to reach your goals and trying not to overload yourself with stress in a direct way and not just as an "I can totally relate to this issue" type of way it would bring it into a genuinely good game.

As always, I'm proud of you, son.
With the release and success of tekken 8, any chance we could get a retrospective on the series???
I've been interested in making something like that for a while, but I'm generally not a fighting game guy. I'd have to really learn a lot in terms of controls and mechanics for the genre, which would be an interesting video in and of itself. My answer in short is...maybe someday haha.
@@YourFavoriteSon1 thank for the replay love all your retrospective videos n and regardless of what's next I'm gonna watch it. Keep up the great work son!!!
Son we love you. This doesn’t have to keep happening!
I feel like Karma is missing a more irl interactive element to drive its point as well. Elements that would increase and decrease USER stress as well. Not just as a game mechanic, but as something that the user would feel in their body as a result of interacting with the game. If they could have figured out how to manipulate user emotions that way, I think that could have been super interesting. As it is, the game JUST looks like it has increasing user irl stress levels down pretty well though. It needs elements that decrease stress of the user too.
I saw LE in the thumbnail and was about to Deus Vult but its literally because of the reviews eviscerating the server issues that have been fixed by now lol.
I've played it far too much since launch haha
The whistling is so nostalgic
This video series is comfort food for my mind. Yum yum yum.
Enjoyed your comments on Last Epoch, and agreed with all of them. Good work being balanced regarding the 1.0 launch.
if u have time try the first cobra kai game : cobra kai the karate kid saga continues , actually brougth me back to old style scrolling beat 'em up and actually had really fun going trought it , second one was meh fun dialogue tho if u are in to the series
day of payment 2 had me cracking up for some reason
Bro baited us all with the thumbnail of LE. We all know LE is great
Steam page currently shows "Mostly Positive" for Last Epoch
Mmm want to try last Enoch. Think i hate about most arpgs is that i do more reading on the game systems and build than I do playing the game
I think Last Epoch fixes a lot of that. That's the main appeal of the game is that you don't really need to do a ton of research just to be good at the game. With that being said, there's still a ton of variety in builds. It's great.
GameMill almost feels like a modern incarnation of LJN.
you know what sucks? Im the son that is not the favorite. My family went out to get pinkberry and left me in the bathroom.
Well its been ten years and im now assistant nightmanager of the lowest rated pinkberry in the tri city area.
Ah son.. You make me proud!
I played Fobia on the Switch and I reached the end.
I didn't even realize it was on switch lol
How do you get past the wheel? Would you recommend it?
@@zachwathen9689 I can't really remember, but I'm pretty sure, only the spikes should hurt. It wasn't that hard and I'm not very good at Jump'n'runs.
And I liked it. It's not very long but I bought it on sale. Later there is also an enemy, a shadow version of themselves. That was kinda hard.
So yeah I'd recommend.
Streamer Simulator and RUclipsr's Life games brought me a flashback of a piece of history I had totally forgotten.
Pewdiepie's Tuber Simulator. Anyone remember that one lol?
I actually completely forgot about this game
It's still relevant!
It looks like all of the games from the Dark Astral Dev including Dark Astral are no longer even listed on steam. So thats good news I guess.
I've never heard of Last Epoch. It actually looks like a lot of fun. I'm gonna check it out as soon as I'm done with FF7
Last Epoch is really good. The story could be told better, especially from a world building perspective, but the game itself is really fun. I only play it in offline mode, so server issues don't affect me. (It's so nice to have a game with an offline mode in these days.)
16:50 Yes, yes it does. As long as the game or product doesn't work, customers are eintitled to say so. It deserve the rating, so other people don't buy it and maybe wait until the issues are fixed, so those customers can have a better experience.
It's what the reviews system is for. People get mad at review bombs but they're informative and a large warning for uninformed buyers.
1:55 had me dying lmao
hey son, can you make Retrospective video on Hitman series?
It's on the list eventually. I'd like to get into that series.
THE MENTION OF CUBEWORLD HAD ME SENT. I still love cube world, Just hate what happened and the lack of what happened.
