    background noise and music distracts a lot from the video, however I really do appreciate this video! I have just started tying flies and threads and types of threads are very confusing at first.

    Fantastic information. This was the first time on RUclips that I took notes. Thank you.

    Thanks for the wise information! I truly appreciate it. Even though I am not 100% a beginner, thread was always something I thought I needed to learn about, and you gave me just the information I needed/wanted.

    Really disappointed that loud music was so distracting I could not watch and learn from this otherwise-excellent video. I would submit that music would detract from the shopping experience as well. So much for “ The Quiet Sport”.

    Thank you so much Dave the best I have seen of someone trying to explain all the threads out there. I just started to tie a year or so ago and thread was so difficult for me and I am a lot better now but still have some issues on what to use when I want to tie certain flies. If you can come up with the dates and of the articles from Charlie Craven and Al Writt could you pass them along. Great video and appreciate you time and effort to present this video. Your students will be well versed and they surely should appreciate it as well. Thanks again for your time

    Love the video but it would be better without the music in the background...my opinion.

    A lot of good information but for me it would have helped to zoom in on the thread when referring to the thread properties, e.g. “as you can see”, but yet at a distance I could not see the thread. Thanks though for the time and effort.

    Some have made the "Sizing System" of threads seem like the theory of Relatively of Einestein! In reality, it's incrediblely Simple!!

    Just don't understand the point of all the several colors of thread if all the material is just gonna cover it anyway?!?

    • @marcjalbert4139

      Thread bodies, thread ribbing, thread heads, thread hot spots. Thread color is critical for many fly types, not so much for others.

    While I can see you spent a lot of time preparing for this video I'm more confused then ever. Too much information. I'm new to fly tying.

    • @stevemorris199
      @stevemorris199 3 года назад +1

      This is not necessarily for someone new to fly tying. There is a lot of info here. Some of which challenging stuff. The real takeaway is there are a lot of different threads and there are advantages/disadvantages to each. As you continue in your fly tying journey you will determine your own preferences in thread regardless of the statistics. Some threads are simply easier to use but that is user preference. The best idea is to try to figure out what you like and why you like it. It really doesn't matter what other people use. It boils down to what you like to tie with that makes flies that catch fish. There is no single answer for every scenario. Best of luck and welcome to the fly tying addiction.
