Enjoy Yourself mr Enthor., it is real fun making figures. (I use freeskates ; the wheels are placed behind eachother.) I am 65, but never too old. Greetings form the Netherlands.
Thanks Joe! As a new skater I really enjoy your videos. I recently bought skates from China (and they're super tight as you mentioned) I'm going to adjust them like you suggest.
hoping you can help with some instruction/ demonstration. I'm coming from the roller derby side of things but I've been seeing people dance skate in Tonawanda and I really want to learn. I can't figure out how they propel themselves without the traditional cross over- they don't lift their feet, it seems, but their legs still cross(?) I wanna learn!!
Hey Joe, glad to see you making videos again. I grew up skating at Depew (and being told to slow down over the mic by you) and I worked at EHSC/ Rollermagic. It's good another rink gets to work with you and the knowledge you have. I just picked up a pair of Riedell 3200s and a Labeda Proline plate for some rhythm/JB and am skating down in Texas now. I definitely miss the Depew floor (except for the back corner that always warped.) Take care!
Joe! You are healthy again, i prey! GOOD to see you on utube again. Can you explain in depth the three turns, especially backward to forward, but all four edges. Many would benefit greatly from an incisive description of this move from you. Really good to see again and skating!
