Yesterday a Montessori video showed up on my feed. Never heard of it before but it makes so much sense. I've always felt that in today's society we don't give babies enough credit for their ability to be independent. Also I went from looking at a 500 pottery barn crib to now figuring out how to make my own floor bed for my little one when he or she comes. I loved this video and will definitely try the dyi videos.
Love this! So many people don’t understand the baby starts learning from the second brain activity starts. My in-laws were always telling me I spend so much time on my newborns. The rest of the family puts their babies in a swing or rocker and would come back when the baby starts crying. We read books, talked, played, and interacted constantly. It’s so important! Great video! I think I’m going to make my mobile this time and do a dyi video on it. My kids have broken 3 of them and you’re right, they get soooo expensive! Awesome video! 🥰
YES!! 🙌🏻 I refrained from plopping Kylie in any “devices” once I learned about Montessori. I got rid of the few we had. I was sooo hesitant to get a swing for Mis this time, but we literally ONLY use it for one or two of her daytime naps, and then she’s right back out. The only device I put her in regularly is my carrier (and even then, not all the time) where she can see me and I talk to her constantly. So I couldn’t agree with you more! Thanks for watching! 😊
Hapa Family we have a swing that was gifted to us but we only used it a few times. Neither one of our girls liked it. Probably because they got way more attention while not in it 😂😂. They didn’t like the carrier either but I’m determined to try again with #3
@@yashodamendiratta4034 It’s really bold and rude to wrongly accuse someone of lying... 🧐 If you actually take a moment to re-read what I wrote above, you’ll see that there isn’t a “lie” at all. I very clearly stated that I stopped putting her into any devices “once I learned about Montessori” (which was at six months) - and this is consistent with everything I’ve ever talked about in the past in any of my other videos.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing all this information with us!! I’m going to have my baby boy in 5 months and I feel like there’s hardly any information about Montessori “education” in my language.. thank you thank you thank you!
Loved this - especially showing respect. Really enjoying this series. I appreciate how you give examples and substantiate with reasoning. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺😊
I don't remember if I told you this before, but I worked in a Montessori until I gave birth to Alex and I worked with Toddlers mostly. It was a nice experience and I try to implement it as much as possible in our home. I've never seen a Munari mobile before, it's great that you got to do it yourself. Very informative video, love it ❤️!
I didn’t know that you worked in a Montessori, so neat! I’d like to if I ever get the chance when I start working again. And apparently Dr. Montessori herself never actually used mobiles with infants, so it’s a newer approach in Montessori philosophy. Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
I loved this! Such a helpful video! I guess it's easy to forgot or not even realise how important the most simple of tasks can be. I especially loved the treating babies with respect! Great video, Ashley!
Thanks for watching! It is so true though, about the respect thing. I remember reading an article not too long ago that compared it to an adult having a giant walk into their room in the middle of the night, having their covers ripped off of them, their legs lifted up into the air, and their butt wiped. It talked about how startling that would be, and to imagine how a baby feels! 😂
I heard that Rafael Nadal and Lionel Messi both used 50mm balls hung from their mobile. This is why their spatial recognition was so much more advanced and accurate when they grew up to play professional basketball and cricket.
Awe baby Mia ❤️ thank you Ashley, we are expecting baby #2 and I can’t wait to DIY some of these mobiles! I discovered Montessori at 6m with my first daughter so this should be interesting this time around! Looking forward to reading Simone Davies new book as well ☺️
Really waiting for some tips for making a mobile. for my newborn, also general directions to make them even with other materials, that maybe are more reachable in some counTRIES.
Great video!! At 2:32, I see a mirror on the wall for the baby. I would like I similar set up for my baby - is there any info you can provide for getting and using an appropriate mirror (e.g. dimensions, normal vs baby mirror material, or the one you selected , etc)?
Hi, Ashley. Could you please explain how you handled the sleeping situation with your newborn? Were you cosleeping with her being in a baby nest? In general i would be great if you could make a video about infant sleep organization options. Very difficult to find this type of info on youtube.
Where do you hang the mobile. My son is 1 month today and I want to hang his up already but don't know where. He cosleeps with us in a sleeper like you showed Mia being in.
Hi Ashley my grandaughter is now 7 weeks old should we start with Munari mobile or move on to the next mobile in the series. Once you introduce a new mobile, do you stop using the previous one? Thank you
Congratulation for everything you share!!! Very helpful and informative. I heard of Montessori but i never looked into it. I have a 10 months baby boy and i am wondering if is to late to start implementing this way of education, which i think is brilliant!! Thanks you for sharing your experience!!!

Hi, My baby is 10 months old and exclusively breastfed. He will be starting childccare in January 2021 and was wondering if Montessori allows use of feeding bottles as I have never used one ever. He can use a cup but recently he has started feeding to sleep. Any suggestions on how to change it as i won't be there at the childcare to feed him before his sleep time.
I've not heard of this, but after paying attention to what my baby seems to like in the first two weeks, we actually only half-swaddle during the day to keep his hands free for stretching and self-soothing, and only fully swaddle during what we consider his "bedtime" hours. The bedtime swaddle calms him enough to sleep most of the night, and the daytime half-swaddle lets him nap but also lets him stretch out and experience his immediate environment when he's awake. I'm only a first-time mom, so I have no idea if this is good or not, but it's what he seems to enjoy so we're just along for the ride. If it works for our baby, maybe it works for others?
@@NewAbbySquirrel333 I’m a first time mom and I feel like I’m having a similar experience. My son was born four weeks early so initially he found a lot of comfort in a full, tight swaddle. The closer he got to his due date the more I noticed he liked having his hands free or even preferred to not be swaddled at all
Hi thank you for your awesome videos. I am looking a homeschooling mom of a 5 y old and 2 y old and soon a baby. Which books can you recommend me to learn more about the montessori method to implement it in my homeschool? Thx
You’re welcome! And thank you so much for watching, glad to hear you’re enjoying my videos. There’s a list of recommended reading books in the video description box of all my Montessori at Home videos. :) Hope that helps!
Hi. Can you please give me a look to the book shelf you have next to the Ikea kalex 2by4 book shelf? (The one where you have kept all the books) Thanks!
All these people using mobiles definitely don't have cats in the home haha :) Anyone have any advice? I would love to be using mobiles but I can't think of a solution. I live in a small space, too, so there's not really a way to have the cats in a separate area.

Hello, instead of a glass ball... can it be plastic?
Yes!
What is the newborn's bed?
Hiiii Hapa Family!!! I cant download the pdf for the DIY Montessori Munari Mobile please help!!
I have a baby in the NICU that was born 10 weeks early. Are all these timelines the same as they are for a newborn?
I’ve heard in some forms of Montessori that a newborn shouldn’t be swaddled so they can self soothe with their hands. What would you recommend?

Perhaps store it up out of reach when not in use, and then otherwise supervise when it’s down to keep the cat out of the area?

Thanks u speak very fast.. Can u try speak slowly
If you go onto the video settings you can slow down the run time which will make her talk slower
Yes, I often use the 75% playback for fast talkers. 😂
Can you speak a bit slower please? Thank you for the ideas btw
