Finally someone said it! I never felt Denmark performance was MU worthy both in swim and EG and neither in QNA, just put her performance overall to past MU and tell me she stands nearby to any of our MU winners period!
Miss Denmark truely reflects the taste of the owner and the value of this organisation. Nothing wrong with her. This is just their new lower standard from now on. Period.
@@chanSPKXLshe has so much to learn and grow from currently she posted a video on TikTok saying the N word while lip syncing to a song 2 days after the video is still up Idk where is her PR team ! Idk how she is representing women especially the ones that do not look like her This year the competition was just exhausting The owner raul is also so all over her it’s actually disgusting I hope she is fine and farrrr from that man. I really hope she Is being treated well But I just don’t feel like she is MISS UNIVERSE
Right! If you are going to add 43 more beauty contestants, why not reduce the top 30 to 15. Don’t they usually go from top 20 to 10 when there are less candidates? I agree with you on some of the candidates not making the final 12. I was shocked that Philippines, Dominican Republic, India, and Zimbabwe did not make it into this group. What exactly were these judges looking for?
Victoria certainly had one of the less stellar performances of MU in recent years, I guess she was just solid all around. Even though she didn't stand out during any round, her projection and enthusiasm propelled her to the top. Victoria won because of her attitude, she had the winning mindset from Day 1
The production was like watching Miss Global or Miss Intercontinental. The expensive, glamorous and exciting shows that we expect from Miss Universe is gone. There are national or even local pageants with better production than this. It was so disappointing. Anne and Raul supposedly has billions but it seems like they didn’t invest anything into the production and contestants’ time in Mexico.
Hopefully the organization will learn from their mistakes and make a truly decent pageant next year. These things tend to happen AT LEAST in terms of production. 2022 and 2020 were also very cheap in terms of infrastructure and staging, let's hope there's a comeback next year
I thought that the last two standing should have been Nigeria and Thailand. I thought that the crown could have gone to any of these two contestants. Now, I just listened to you read Miss Thailand’s words again after her ordeal with working with doctors and surviving breast cancer at such a young age, “As long as you believe, your power is infinite and as long as you have hope, your sprit and power will shine.” She used such impactful words, such as believe, hope, sprit, and power. What was so genius, was how she had interwoven the word “infinite” into her final answer, as “the light of infinity” was the name of the crown and given that there was a big infinity sign on the stage. To me the final answer of these two ladies had more substance and left me more inspired than Miss Denmark’s answer. Now, I believe more than ever that the crown should have gone to Miss Thailand.
pageant winner doesn't have to be the one who is good in Q and A if you are really a true pageant watcher for years. Thailand does not even deserve Top 12. Peru or Chile should be in Top 5
@@pineappleognam421 well what you said is true but Q and A round is the segment where all the contestants are on the same boat and those who can handle the pressure and deliver such an effortless answer moves forward. So I disagree what you said about miss Thailand but yeah I agree about miss Peru and Chile.
Also, I hope that Miss USA needs to change the rule that women can compete for the Miss USA title once, so I can compete for the Miss USA title limitless times. Other countries like the Philippines have women competing the national titles multiple times before winning to get a chance to go to Miss Universe.
I'm happy for Denmark too. Nothing wrong with her. Obviously, despite what we saw on stage, she clearly did not win the competiton but rather selected by the owner of the organisation. I highly doubt that Denmark wouldn't even make pass through the Miss USA competition, based on the performances she gave during the final night.
I’ve noticed that whenever Olivia hosts with Mario her energy is low and seems nervous. But when she was hosting with Jeannie and Maria she seemed much more relaxed and had better chemistry with them. Just something I’ve noticed.
@@mokuuuokeawe I’m not trying to imply anything but it’s very obvious based on Olivia’s body language and energy who she seems more comfortable cohosting with.
@ if she wants to make it in the hosting world, she needs to know how to hide it and get the job done as if nothings wrong. It shows she can't work with everyone and that's a flaw.
Thank you for being a realist Dani. In my opinion, Thailand was the strongest overall performer of the bunch and deserved to win. I think the organisation was taking Raul, Osmel and Anne’s country’s heavily into consideration, trying to ensure that bias is not a topic for discussion. Also, Anne said blue eyes and blonde hair was the evolution they were looking for, so they kinda made their mind up prior to the final competition. I just hope that someone comes to save the organisation from these people who clearly do not know wtf they’re doing. Anne and Raul work on my poes!
If a competition is fair and audited, Anne should never, ever being voicing that they're going with a particular look this year. It gives me the impression she and other execs play a big role in the decision making behind the scenes.
@ I think this year more than ever, they definitely played a massive role in the selection process. If the video’s released of her an Osmel is any indication of how they’re operating internally, then MU is fucked. Let’s not forget the video that was leaked of Anne saying that mothers, trans women and plus sized women will not ever win, it’s just to push the idea of inclusion. Tbh, I don’t remember them mentioning an accounting firm auditing this years results. Also, they had like 15 judges, most of whom know nothing about pageantry, most likely just went for beauty and if you looked at the judges during the performances, they only looked at the contestants for the first five seconds and then had their head down. I hate this😭
@@mattgilfellow Sadly, we all need to lower our expectations and accept that MU is no longer the crème de la crème of pageantry. There is no doubt whatsoever of involvement behind the scenes. I'd be interested in the auditing as well. Just the fact that the host country almost always gets a by is suspect. Add to it the executive choosing their favorites publicly!
@@JensenAlexis0007 sad reality! It honestly breaks my heart. Miss Universe is the pageant that got me interested in pageantry as a whole. I have the most beautiful memory of the first time I fell in love with pageantry through watching Miss Universe. I miss that nostalgic feeling.
@@mattgilfellow I'm very much with you! It used to be a beautiful production where the contestants were the focus. Now egos and politics take the stage. We do need that nostalgia back. We can dream, right?
Honestly, I have been waiting for this recap for so long, and I keep refreshing this page . Finally, it's here. One thing I appreciate about Dani reviews is her authenticity . The production of Miss Universe this year didn't give the glamorous Miss Universe we are used to, and truly, someone needs to be held accountable for it. DANI, I agree with you based on the continental ranking, it should have been chosen based on the highest placement and not necessarily preliminaries. I was actually happy for my country, Nigeria. Our placement this year is like a big win for all of us. I actually do hope there is a better production next year.
Honestly, my top 2 would have been between Thailand and Nigeria. and my winner would have been Thailand. Thailand was strong on all segments. And her gown was truly a work of art. I would choose Nigeria as winner, but her green-orange gown was not a good choice for finals. My personal results: Winner - Thailand 1sr RU - Nigeria 2nd RU - Denmark 3rd RU - Mexico 4th RU - Venezuela
Dani, i saw a video that showed Sheynnis in the Miss Universe's apartment. It seems the apartment that MU 2023, Sheynnis took photos of, is not owned by Miss Universe Organization but privately owned by Raul Rocha, one of the owners of MUO and thats where he spends his time when he is in New York. It is also speculated that Sheynnis didnt live in that apartment but rather lived in a hotel when she was in New York until she completed her reign. Plus, the man is getting too comfortable with the titleholder based on the recent photoshoots and how he fully inserts himself in Miss Universe activities, I think the speculations might be true.
With Sheynnis I noticed she was visiting her Mom in California a lot during holidays and about a week before the MU '24 I guess that's why she did not use they apartment that much plus all the traveling.
@@fredminfredmin2911Am not attacking him because he's Mexican and Trump is not. What Trump did during his era as the owner was wrong but he didn't insert himself in appearances or activities that the former Miss Universe titleholders engaged in unlike the new owners. They don't allow the winners to have their moments to shine or have peaceful reigns. They can just support them from the background and not be present in every activities they perform or every places they go to because Anne and Raul are giving creepy vibes at the moment.
There are rumours circulating that Miss Denmark was in a relationship with Raul before the arrivals. She met him when she went to the offices in Mexico before the contest. I thought it wasn’t true when I heard it but now I think there may actually be some truth in it with how close they are and him constantly in her photoshoots. Nothing would surprise me anymore as this organisation has really gone to the dogs.
That would explain why Honduras was not put in the top 30. In one of the photoshoots, Denmark and Honduras were painted together and Honduras outshone her for days. People were commenting Honduras over Denmark. All she would have to do is say to Raul, not to put forward Honduras. She was my winner and i was so confused on how she could have missed top 30.
Ugh thankgod im not the only one who thought Denmark did not deserve to go through. Every other pagent reviewer was singing her praise and i was like - did we watch a different show? I did not expect her to go past top30. Her pasarela was horrendous, so jerky and uneven - felt like a newcomer miss-teen contestant learning to walk after a few months of training and her answers to both questions were medicore at best and a ridiculous word salad at worst. How is it possible that the most undeserving of the top5 won the title 😒
The big sister in me is worried about Miss Denmark. I hope she has a female chaperone during her reign. Why is Raul inserting himself into photo shoots with her? Why is she flying in private jets with only males(that we can see). I worry for her. I don’t like it😢
Yes Dani, the translator made a mistake and if you watch the clips you’d see Venezuela wasn’t entirely sure the translator was right so she turned back when she said “Mi momento” and the translator nodded in affirmative. That was sad to see
So amateur hour to see her running from backstage after the final question was asked of Venezuela. Then standing behind a delegate a foot taller than her who clearly had problems communicating with her because she didn't even have a mic in a noisy arena.
Dani, I know we’re tired of MU, but can you make an episode discussing Anne’s statement at the press conference regarding evolution, both Anne and Raul sharing Donald Trump Jr’s disgusting post, Anne and Raul wanting to insert themselves everywhere which is becoming creepy, the constant lying when it came to the stream, the situation where people who paid couldn’t even watch in the US, Miss Universe Fiji’s video discussing Miss Universe, the group chat where the girls were talking about how poorly they were treated and how they cannot speak out due to the NDA’s they signed, how there was favouritism (Miss Uzbekistan spoke on this). There’s a lot to get to - I hope you make a lil video.
There was a viral video but I think is now deleted, it showed Anne and Osmel picking their favorite candidates from photoshoots. One of Osmel's favorite delegates was Miss Denmark. So this clearly shows that the winner was already chosen even before the competition.
@ I saw that video yes. There are quite a few pages who still have the video, so despite them deleting it, it’s still out there. Also, we know that Osmel hates black women, so Nigeria never stood a chance. Realistically, she was a stronger performer, but she would never have won next to Denmark.
@@mattgilfellow Absolutely, Miss Nigeria was the winner that night because aside from her intelligence, elegance, grace, charm and poise, she had the best performance between the two. I was so annoyed with Miss Denmark's performance during the Q&A session. Not only was she not answering the questions correctly but she was so loud screaming her answers and had uncoordinated walk which could have automatically eliminated her from moving on to the next round. But since she was in Osmel's list, they made it easy for her to advance and win.
@ THANK YOU! I have literally been saying this! Miss Denmark was just loud, serving pageant patty answers, without any real intellect in her responses. That’s what Miss Universes are known for. I completely agree regarding her walk as well, hence Dani’s statement about her not moving on from Top 30 is more than sensible. Watch how Anne renames Miss Universe to Miss Grand Universe because they’re trying so hard to mess it up, and they’re succeeding!🥲
- only pageant analyst i trust. - is puerto rico officially the oldest contestant to place (or compete)? - regarding venezuela, you’re exactly right. the translator said moment, instead of woman. uhg, it sucked, because venezuela does speak english fairly well, and after she said her first line, “my ideal moment…-”, she looked back to the translator as if to say “moment? are you sure?” which the translator reassured. so sad. - i guess the video anne and osmel made regarding philippines should’ve prepared us for what they were looking for (or rather, what they were NOT looking for) “we have blonde and blue eyes, that is the ultimate evolution” anne, post pageant conference - the continental title felt like a sympathy prize.😂 the only one that made sense was nigeria, since she was actually the highest placing girl from that region. crazy how finland is technically the best queen from europe… while miss universe is from… europe. - dominican republic is a rebel.😂🤷🏾
How times have truly changed, in years past Finland at Miss Universe was anything but "little" in that competition. Maybe they will have a revival soon , I quite liked this year Miss Finland, I would have placed her in the top 12 at least.
Thanks for your honesty dani I feel like every other pageant blogger apart from you ,dell and miss criticiser has been licking the organisation’s toes or maybe just trying to be nice but this show A MESS Till this day idk why Denmark won Idk why Philippines didn’t place ? Idk why Thailand or Nigeria weren’t crowded Idk why miss UNIVERSE has a beautiful skin or clear skin award ? Idk why with over a year of preparation production was horrible it was DARKKKKK So many questions overall horrible horrible year for miss universe.
So many questions lol. Usually pageants have beautiful skin/clear skin awards for a sponsor. It typically ties to a skincare brand. This makes sense because they created their own skincare line. Doesn't mean you have the "best" skin. Usually just is someone they like who'd make a good brand rep.
Venezuelan here 🙋🏻♀️ Miss Venezuela said during an interview after the final, that it was incredibly hard to hear the judges from when they were standing because of the noise, and that the translator was fumbling with her phone. She did say that the question given to her was "describe your ideal moment of today," and that, because of the translator showing up late in stage for the second question, she wasn't allowed to finish her answer.
I was indeed stumped. She was the most well spoken and articulate of the final 5 and she didn’t answer the question. I knew something was up. Doesn’t matter, in the end, the judges went for looks.
Miss U is no longer prestigious as it used to be. Poor management, poor show and irrelevant speech from the organization’s owner. Miss U has become a cheap show. Period.
This show was one big organized mess. Just like the owners. I'm so disappointed. Top 2 was clearly Thailand and Nigeria. Such cooked results. Did you see Cracks In The Crown on Hulu....and why did they use Rafa to comment when they're are others that's way more credible and intelligent than him? Example someone like you?
I legit thought either THAILAND or NIGERIA will win. My jaw dropped when they announced Denmark as the winner and it was disappointing. My ranking:- 1. Thailand 🇹🇭 2. Nigeria 🇳🇬 3. Mexico 🇲🇽 4. Denmark 🇩🇰 5. Venezuela 🇻🇪
Looks and beauty still factor in the judges, final decisions. Thailand, to be honest was not that strong than Vietnam or Cambodia. Thai ownership and factor was what got her in.
Thailand very strong. Should of hold hands with Nigeria. A woman like Opal worked hard for her advocacy for years. Performed classy and clean and of course great answers . Ann did not helped her because she got knocked out at 4 th place, denied queen of Asia and no crown ..!! Mut suspected this would happened so they send a strong one but sure enough what a slapped in the face of the candidate and Thailand.
@MrHnd1988 Miss USA 1998 is a prime example. California Shauna Gambill gave the best response to the final answer but the crown went to Massachusetts. Besides so many contestants rattled off their responses like politicians or had them memorized. Denmark was a bit cringey but the judges picked her based on overall impression.
I relate to pretty much everything you mentioned here Dani. No hate to Miss Denmark at all, but at the time I was so sure that Miss Thailand would get the crown because her answers were excellent.
The judging was just horrible this year. I’ve been watching MU since 1981 (before you were born) and this one was the most blatantly rigged. Thailand should’ve won. Her responses and performances were amazing. This new owner is just awful.
Exactly 💯. Miss Denmark's performance can't be lined up with the past Queens like Catriona, Harnaaz, Sheynis. Like hellooooo Let's be honest it was either Nigeria or Thailand's crown. Worst production and what not. Miss Universe is gone 💔 I'm genuinely looking forward how Philippines, Thailand, India, Venezuela South Africa and other sash factor countries will select their new Miss Universe 2025 with this 180° change in the prototype.
Thank you for the recap. There was so much to unpack from this edition. It seems like from optics, that the continental queens were hand selected by the Miss Universe organization and not by results of the competition. This also brings up my biggest frustration with this years Miss Universe. The attention was less on the contestants and more so on MUO leadership. They were constantly putting themselves in the headlines, press conferences, sound bites more so than any other edition of MU. Paula always did a good job remaining behind the scenes that as a long time pageant fan since the early 90’s to be honest, I never needed to know what the role was of the leadership was and even the national directors, who also for some reason were overshadowing the contestants. With that being said, Dani as a pageant expert can you do a video to educate us on the role of pageant leadership and the national directors, what they should be doing or not doing. Because in this era of pageantry, I’m confused….
I feel like the moment leadership of a pageant place themselves in the spotlight, a pageant begins to go down hill. If the pageant is leadership-centric, it cannot simultaneously be titleholder-centric. It's one or the other. Queens/contestants must be at the center for an org to thrive. This is what we saw at the peak of Universe popularity. How many CEOs can you name of large brands? Little to none is my guess. The few who are in headlines, usually make press because they're industry innovators that everyone takes cues from. Typically leadership is largely unknown because their focus is their service or product. In this case, queens are the "product"; they should be at the forefront.
@@DaniWalkerI do have a question, Nick Teplitz was named one of the Executive Producer of the pageant and he seems like the only one left from the Paula era. Any tea on that and what really was his role? Given his years of experience with the pageant, producing beautiful shows and cutting edge shoes, how much executive decision making did he really have? This didn’t seem like his work.
I do not think that Alma didnt make the cut because she repeated the same things as in Nationals. Apparently, the tea is Alma has retained a lawyer in relation to her role as Miss USA, so i would not be surprised if she did not make the cut because she is about to sue Miss USA organization and by default the Miss Universe Organization as well.
Venezuela did confirm that the translator mistranslated her question, which is so confusing because in past years the translator would already be on stage and translate the answer into the mic! so unfair for venezuela
and her mic drop did not happen on the last question because if you watch it again you notice that right after the translator finished translating the answer, olivia did not give the mic back to venezuela instead she just said thank you and it seems like venezuela had no pther choice but to leave
The biggest issue of this edition was the huge no of contestants. They gave licences to random people who had no connection with country for which they were organising contests. Then the crowned contestant that didn't even belong to country they were representing. At the end what happened? MUO couldn't handle 125 women because they just didn't know how to handle all the stuff. They could not plan any activities. Registrations took entire week. And then rest is history..... They jumped from 84 to 125 and just didn't know what to do.
1. Thank you for recapping for us Dani...Idk what this pageant said they did this year but bwoooiii. 2. The production was horrible....I wish I could fire people too! 3. I feel it for the delegates this year, imagine the time, money and energy these women put in to just chill in the hotel and participate in whatever this show was. 4. Thailand or Nigeria should have won! simple as that okay sorry Denmark seems sweet but she was not the winner that night okay. 5. As a fan of this pageant I'm really really disappointed....anyhoos hopefully next year is better 🙏🏾 Dani idk what's your advice for anyone who wants to compete at MU?, because at this point it looks like wait and pray for a leadership change....pageants are an investment of more than just money which it takes a lot of and to make that investment to partake in this subpar mess is not intriguing...Miss Universe used to be the standard, this Olympics of beauty pageants now idk what this is!
You know this edition of miss universe is bad when one of the most earnest, most calm and constructive pageant analyst become heated while recapping the show 😂😂😂
Honestly I'm surprised she even did one with how busy she is with real pageants. It was only out of loyalty to Danni that I even finished this recap! And by the end I just wanted it to be over, just like when I watched the pageant live.
That's what exactly I'm saying. Why are we even competing at this point. MU lost its credibility and purpose. I really hope someone else will buy out MU and change it's management.
I didn't watch Miss USA for the first time since 1991 (because I was in boot camp for the US Navy) and what I saw from Miss Universe this year severely disappointed me & it would not surprise me to see both of them disappear if they do not get back to what made these two what they were in the past. I've enjoyed Miss & Mr. Supranational the last three years and I feel they will take over being "supreme."
1. You need to work for Miss Universe Dani lol they need your expertise. 2. Your doggo seems bored with the pageant too lol 3. Canada placing in the Top 12 is such a win for her and her advocacy of bringing light to issues facing Indigenous women 🎉🙌🏼 She's a queen inside and out, and that's probably what the judges saw.
I thought that the venue looked crappy. I wish that they had announced what the Continental queens would do during their year. I think Denmark won because she showed her personality. I agree that the production was a mess.
Was the E&Y Auditor even there this year? IDK Something seems sketchy about having a 'head judge' and no auditor to audit the scores this year. Also, anyone else recognized that 3/5 of the top 5 were from the countries of key MU stakeholders? lol Anne = Thailand Osmel = Venezuela Raul = Mexico Seriously, they're been fighting for a blonde blue eye prototype since last year since Australia made it to top 3 for no reason. Someone in the U.S. Needs to buy out the organization and bring it back to FOX. That's the only way we're getting back to the good old days and away from this cheap circus.
I greatly appreciate your recaps and as usual you did not disappoint. Literally your recap is everything I been saying also verbatim. I been watching the Miss Universe pageant since a little boy in the late 1980s and this year’s edition was the most confusing ever, especially after the fantastic program we had just last year.
Yes dani, the translator said the wrong word to venezuela, she translated: what’s your ideal moment? instead of women. It seems like venezuela kinda understood that it said women because she asked the translator “moment?” for reassurance. There’s a lot of memes in spanish going around about that moment
Yeah!!! You are totally correct!!! The interpreter did a horrible job… Miss Venezuela answered like that because te interpreter told her that WHAT WAS THE IDEAL MOMENT TODAY??? It was a disaster!!! They are rumors that she was sabotaged because the organization didn’t want a mother to win!!! I think this is not fair!!!
Don’t think too much , continental queens are selected by the organization/ owners to represent the brand globally. Top 5 are selected by judges often bias and not always the best to represent MU. It is pretty much how MGI selects their finalists.
So disappointed with MU this year! It was boring, especially when they announced the top 30. The 30 sec video of each contestant who made it was useless.. waste of time. It took way too long in between each announcement. Dominican Republic and the Philippines should have made it to top 12. Final Q&A doesn’t determine the winner anymore. And to make things worse, why announced the 4 queens after crowning?!! Just super hot mess! Needs immediate clean up 🧹
Miss Universe is already losing fame since 2010 but really went downhill when that man from Thailand took over the pageant. He is destroying the Miss Universe brand.
This edition was a bit better than previous year's but still not up to par. I fervently wish that Dani Walker should be the Production Director of Miss U. She will definitely revive this dying pageant.
This year's edition has been a disgraced. Everything from pre pageant to preliminary and all the way to finals. Like who in the right mind to do the preliminary evening gown like that? Also, watching the final show was difficult to find for me. MGI was free to watch and it's in 4K. Mind you, IT'S 4K AND IT'S FREE ON RUclips! I even appreciate Miss Earth for livestreaming it on youtube regardless of the quality of the show, while you have to get a roku or pay to watch MU with such low quality show. I feel hopeless with the new MUO, and I can't wait to see them meet their demise in the upcoming years.
For me, Miss denmark didn't deserve the win or the placements. The walk wasn't polished as the other comtestants. Her answers weren't good enough. It should be Thailand and Nigeria that hold hands in top 2, from the answers in q and a. Denmark's answers were generic and cliche. Theres been speculation online that miss denmarks win was already planned so this organization would expand in the European countries. the new organization feels like stopping Philippines to be in the q and a. Miss Denmark's win was planned. In oct. 7 the miss universe acount in ig and facebook's story its all miss denmark. They've been promoting her even though the pageant didn't even started yet
I had the exact same top 2 as you did. Thailand and Nigeria.. better answers and performances overall. I was so disappointed I unfollowed the MU account. I just don’t believe in whatever method they have to pick their queen. Also when I saw Sheynnis final walk and the awful staging and lighting (you could barely see her), I immediately thought Dani must be yelling at the TV
Would you do a fun little video going over your favorite dresses designers have released this year? Like the Sherry Hill Amara, ashly lauren? Or going through a d giving thoughts on most. Maby adding how these gowns might do in pagents?❤
Im glad im not the only one who thought Miss Denmark was overrated. Beautiful girl, but if we were to go based on overall package, Miss Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri should have been crowned Miss Universe. Opal's performance has been consistent and her Q/A were by far the best answered
totally agreed. After the Q&A section i thought Thai & Nigeria will be top 2. Thailand totally deserved bring back the third crown for miss universe. But for the new organisation, they might change the direction for miss universe. The worst edition ever . Miss Denmark is gorgeous , but to me her performance is still very grand style . Just my own opinion no offend🙏🏻
Tbh that dog is more alluring, and i have fun watching him. He's so calm and adorable. May i know his name? Please include him next time in your future videos. Thanks, Dani.
Hi Dani, another great recap. I agree with you 100%. I feel the organization over promised, high expectation for not only the finals night but the whole pageant month but instead it was underwhelming and lackluster. For me when the delegates arrived and there were no tour of the country and they spent most of the time in the hotel, it somewhat gave me a prediction that the finals night would be same. The finals night I agree with you. The stage was dark, camera angles were off, and the infinity shaped LED floor was useless. Sheyniss' final walk was so dark. During the prelim evening gown, the audience was yelling 'pasarela'. And the continental titles: Africa and Oceania? Europe and Middle East? This is the first year without Paula Shugart and already it looks like it is falling apart. Not to mention delegates from South Africa, Fiji, Nigeria, Puerto Rico are coming out saying the experience was bad. And the ABC documentary came out. Oh well, are we still going to be excited for next year?
About the Continental Queens, Anne already explained it via a post. I think the rationale is choosing continental queens that they find to have a good work ethic onstage and offstage, notwithstanding the judges' scores during the finals, and who would work well with the reigning queen and the Organization. In a local pageant, the Continental Queens would be like the Organizer's Choice or some sort of a special award but not necessarily high placers.
What happened at this year's finals are not surprising given all the controversy pre-pageant finals. It's great that there are other pageants out there girls can join and fans can enjoy watching as the shows have been excellent. Although it saddens me a bit that MU is becoming less and less like Miss Universe, I feel more worried that this is only the beginning of its decline. I feel sad for the girls who's dreamt of joining for a very long time, only to find their dreams shattered when they get there because it's no longer Miss Universe, it's Anne, Raul and Osmel's universe now. I'm still hopeful that change will come. By change, I mean a change of ownership. We need owners who want to support the girls and not be the center of attention.
Let's just call this what it was... the worst Miss Universe pageant in recent history!!! I've watched every year since the 90's and this was easily the worst show I've ever seen. Anne has ruined Miss Universe.
25:20 Filipina beauty queen, The Miss Philippines Miss Supranational Philippines Alethea Ambrosio, was named Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania 2024 title with a sash and tiara for the first time in pageant history after finishing in the Top 12 of Miss Supranational 2024 held in Poland on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Alethea won the continental title as the top delegate from the region (Asia and Oceania) who failed to enter the Top 5, just like Chelsea Anne Manalo, who failed to make it to the Top 12 after the swimsuit round but she was given the Miss Universe Asia title. When The Miss Philippines Supranational 2023 Pauline Amelinckx won the Miss Supranational first runner-up last year after losing to Andrea Aguilera of Ecuador, she didn't take home the Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania title. It was given to India Pragnya Ayyagari. 👑 TOP 30 Semi-Finalist #Philippines 🇵🇭 - Chelsea Anne Manalo is #MissUniverseAsia2024 👑 TOP 30 Semi-Finalist #Finland 🇫🇮 - #MatildaWirtavuori is #MissUniverseEuropeandMiddleEast2024 👑 TOP 12 Semi-Finalist #Peru 🇵🇪 - #TatianaCalmell is #MissUniverseAmericas2024 👑 1st RUNNER-UP #Nigeria 🇳🇬 - #ChidimmaAdetshina is #MissUniverseAfricaandOceania2024
Always lovely to see your recaps and hear what you think Dani. I definitely agree the production this year was abysmal at best. But I’m hopeful the new org will take the learnings from this year and give us much better next year and future. I also agree with you that it was between Thailand and Nigeria as final 2 but I’m content with Denmark winning as she is was very prepared and it was just her destiny to win. Now when it comes to the continental queens I actually like the new format, I like that the organization pick the girls from each continent at prelims that they want to travel with and not just who makes the highest based on the finals night. To me it keeps the stakes higher and opens the chances to more non sash countries getting the tittle.
8:29 Chelsea's walk, in our native Filipino language, is called "tampisaw walk" (tam-pee-sao) or transliterated in English would be "paddling" or "wading in the water".
From your face in the thumbnail I knew exactly what your opinion was. Honestly I do agree with you. My thoughts about the continental winners is that I like the Idea, however I think they need to polishe and work on that addition.
Dominican Republic didn’t advance because of her well known attitude behind the scenes. Those stories have followed her since International. But I guess she thought since she got away with it at International (with a 4th RU placement) that she’d get away with it at MU too. Quite frankly she’s lucky she placed at all. And I’m not surprised Philippines didn’t advance. She’s never impressed me much although I did appreciate her swimsuit performance. I feel they just gave her that BS continental queen consolation prize just to satisfy the toxic fans and keep them from calling MU a cooking show, which they’re doing any way 🙄 I’m not mad that Denmark won but I don’t feel she necessarily deserved it either. I think MU wants to go back to that bombshell queen era. They seemed to emphasize a lot about Denmark being blond hair and blue eyed, so apparently that’s a big deal for them 🤷🏻♀️ also Puerto Rico was hospitalized for dehydration day of finals and almost missed the competition. But still managed to pull off a top 12 placement 🎉 although her gown choice was disappointing ☹️
Misa Hotel Universe 2024. The problem with these owners is that they keep on making promises that they don't eventually deliver, like literally. What's cringe even more is the level of difficulty of Top 5 Questions. School pageants even have more difficult ones. As to answers, only Nigeria saved the entire show.
Continental Queens were awarded to all "Top5 fan favorites" who didn't actually make it to Top5 or even Top12. I don't think the Continental Queens will get to travel around the world as much as Anne said... why would they invest in Continental Queens, while they never really supported any runners-up in the past years?
It was announced that in the Top 30, 25 are chosen by he judges, 4 are the continental queens, and 1 fan vote. This means the continental queens are like the "fastrack" sinners of Miss World but they have additional perks by traveling with the winner when they tour on their respective regions. Once the Top 30 is selected, it is now up to the judges during the telecast. I think the fault here is that they didn't announce the continental queens during the announcement of the Top 30. I'm not quite sure how to take this but it is what it is. The infinity symbol I think is in reference to the new crown which is called the Light of Infinity and not a slight to Miss Cosmo.

Judges were there as a facade....the whole show is RIGGED😒🤨🤔
R u sure they have billions ??!!!! I think no
Or miss Earth/international. Same thing. Only supra, grand have a proper upscale production

Hopefully the organization will learn from their mistakes and make a truly decent pageant next year. These things tend to happen AT LEAST in terms of production. 2022 and 2020 were also very cheap in terms of infrastructure and staging, let's hope there's a comeback next year
@@FunAnimator we want the comeback without the creep Raul who is very clear ..... Straight men controlling the game is big no no
I thought that the last two standing should have been Nigeria and Thailand.
Totally agree. She was robbed.
The real Top 2 was Thailand and Nigeria

So happy for Victoria! But heartbroken that this organization is going to shambles. MU needs a complete 180, the delegates deserve it.
@@rlrcia agreed!
Raul and Anne ruin it. Just like Layla did to Miss USA

Very Huge Downgrade!!

Congratulations to Nigeria!!!!
This Miss universe edition was definitely……….. a choice 👀
@@himbocities 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, my top 2 would have been between Thailand and Nigeria. and my winner would have been Thailand. Thailand was strong on all segments. And her gown was truly a work of art. I would choose Nigeria as winner, but her green-orange gown was not a good choice for finals.
My personal results:
Winner - Thailand
1sr RU - Nigeria
2nd RU - Denmark
3rd RU - Mexico
4th RU - Venezuela
I think Denmark give the worst answer in top 5, she should be 4th runner up.
Ms Nigeria should have won
To be fair Miss universe as they said will be traveling to more than 30 countries. Which means she will probably not need an apartment in New York.
@@kenlau457 its still nice to have a place you can call home. She wont always be on the go and she need a place to store her stuff
With Sheynnis I noticed she was visiting her Mom in California a lot during holidays and about a week before the MU '24 I guess that's why she did not use they apartment that much plus all the traveling.
Did you say the same thing to the pictures of TRUMP kissing them and gripping them??? Oh he’s white not Mexican 😮😮!
Is there any ACTUAL evidence for this? Because if not, it certainly doesn't seem fair to Miss Denmark.

So many questions overall horrible horrible year for miss universe.

I'm genuinely looking forward how Philippines, Thailand, India, Venezuela South Africa and other sash factor countries will select their new Miss Universe 2025 with this 180° change in the prototype.
I'd rather have Dani Walker as MU President, if not at least get to be one of the judges😁
@@DaniWalker random question, did you speak spanish to your "niece"?

Seriously, they're been fighting for a blonde blue eye prototype since last year since Australia made it to top 3 for no reason. Someone in the U.S. Needs to buy out the organization and bring it back to FOX. That's the only way we're getting back to the good old days and away from this cheap circus.
The pageant results were certified by BDO Mexico.
@@BrenCap99 thank you for coming to watch 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Heyy Dani thank you for finally posting the recap 😁
Ive been waiting for this as I know youve been busy
@@igoyschannel3463 I was sick in bed lol
I just love how Dani being honest ! Im such your huge fan. filipino here in Vietnam
Thank you so much!
I agree, she should have had a chance to clarify. That should have been corrected.
My goodness! Been waiting for you to post this video reaction ❤
I agree but leave the transphobic comment aside
This edition was a bit better than previous year's but still not up to par. I fervently wish that Dani Walker should be the Production Director of Miss U. She will definitely revive this dying pageant.
literally
Philippines' signature walk is called the "Tampisaw" walk--meaning, in English, wading in the water.
Every year the walk has a name so tacky
@MasaruMori-z6v True.
@@MasaruMori-z6vand so?
Hi Dani, Hope you can do a reaction video about the "Cracks on the crown" documentary about Miss Universe.organization
Yes! I just watched that video
The traffic jam 💀
@@GreggySorianoGreggysDigest 🙈🙈🙈
All of your observations were spot on👌
National Costume voting ended 4-5 days after finals and haven't announced the winner yet
When you mentioned the Mandela Effect, I knew instantly you're a real one Dani!
?
Would you do a fun little video going over your favorite dresses designers have released this year? Like the Sherry Hill Amara, ashly lauren? Or going through a d giving thoughts on most. Maby adding how these gowns might do in pagents?❤
Im glad im not the only one who thought Miss Denmark was overrated. Beautiful girl, but if we were to go based on overall package, Miss Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri should have been crowned Miss Universe. Opal's performance has been consistent and her Q/A were by far the best answered
thanks Dani, always genuinely honest. I love your insights and opinions!
I appreciate that!
totally agreed.
GURRLLL… I have been waiting for this all week 😊
Tbh that dog is more alluring, and i have fun watching him. He's so calm and adorable. May i know his name? Please include him next time in your future videos. Thanks, Dani.
HAHAHAHAHA I wish I could. I'm pup sitting. She's my cousin's rescue named Pesto Pluma.
Wow, I love the name. A combination of a sauce and a feather, hahaha. Thanks for sharing.
0:34 DR just went of the way to say her name along with her country's name. They were asked not to say their names to save time for a pathetic show! 🙂
Dani can we please see your victoria secret recap
@@Weirdo_Ayden oh yes lol. I’ll edit that.

Ms Nigeria should have won
But still managed to pull off a top 12 placement 🎉 although her gown choice was disappointing ☹️
just stop watching miss universe
@ I’m gonna watch all I want and do what I want and say what I want. Thanks for your concern 🫶🏻
Im so agreeing with you omg… like everything
I can’t believe why DM and PH were not included in top 12. I was there watching live and the two deserved to be in top 12😢😢.
Not being biased but yeah, I agree 😥 PH 🇵🇭 and DR 🇩🇴 with that amazing swimsuit performance should be in the Top 12
Happy you are feeling better…
Happy you give your reviews
I never clicked on a video so fast!! Love you Dani!!!
Thank you for coming to watch
Anyone know why Sierra Burchell doesn’t post about MU anymore?

Miss Dominican Republic bad attitude, i’m glad she didn’t emerged to top 12
