Thank you to everyone who commented on yesterday's video (it's been rather popular). I will get round to answering every one of the comments and I will update you all when I have more news 😁
Does it have overcharge, undervoltage, overcurrent protection?
Old comment, but it certainly hasn’t got any cell balancing.
Yes it has even polarity protection
Iv got the wireless charging one and when I put it on charge it was 2.8A at 5v charging. I was amazed and it very nearly turned my charger off with its hungry charging habits. It smart charges at 9v fast charge and will PD/QC3.0 charge @ 9v also awesome 😎
Sorry mate, I'm only just catching up with comments.
I didn't know it does fast charge. I've just connected mine to the phone (USB C to USB C) and the phone says it's not compatible with the charger..... Xiaomi crap 🤣
@@Vortecks They sell different versions and yours appears to be the normal USB model as the fast charge versions have colored USB ports. There are USB, USB+QI, PD, and PD+QI versions of this bank, where the it /appears/ that QC and PD are both supported on the quick-charge version, but the specs vary by seller. There are also 12 and 16-cell versions. I've also found a 6-cell single-layer version that has the same output layout and feature options, so it's likely the same electronics. Wireless bumps the price substantially, but still worth it if you need it.
@@antibrevity correct mines is QC and one of the ports is orange
I have the wireless model and it works pretty well It also has a quick charge 3.0 apple charge protocol also.
That's brilliant 👍
I bought an almost identical 8p version a couple of years ago, but it wouldn't discharge past 50% for some reason !! Hope you have better luck.
This one does take the cells down to 3.2V so I'm very happy with it, especially the price!
How can I get the powerbank without battery
The only annoying thing is that when it shows 4% left, the capacity is really something like 40%
Yes I had the same problem I recharged and completely emptied the battery 0 percent it took forever and ages was stuck a 4% over a week after charging it and emptying the battery three times and recharging it it works like a charm
Thats because if you put one or fewer cell and turn on the power cell and latter add more battery, it with retain the first battery information. You need to remove all battery and press the power button to drain power on the motherboard.
It Looks like a decent product it certainly holds a lot of power.
Ampere is the app you want to test charging the phone
Tony respect from scotland mate also are you still going out on your electric bike if so some blogs on it would be grate oh im sure you said a while back that you were going to do a new bike when you planing in starting that project correct me if im wrong mate 👍👍
Cheers David 😀
No, I'm not going out on my bike. I haven't been on it this year at all, I daren't. Although I could get it up here and build V4, it's looking very doubtful because I couldn't ride it. I couldn't even build it and sell it because I'm not prepared to sell anything that is untested, sorry.
That doesn't mean I'm not building anything else to VLOG on - far from it - I'm working on something now but I'm having problems sourcing any decent parts for it at the moment 😉
Time to Patreon you (again) !
Yes, I'm doing a lot of dangerous stuff in the background and you're missing it all 😉
Hello have the same part.
In the meantime, however, it no longer works because I unfortunately inserted a deeply discharged cell
belongings.
Board does not emit power or pass it on to the batteries
I ask for help.
I have the wireless charging version and my iPhone 11 will not charge via wireless…need to try it on a Samsung type phone with wireless charging
I have a powerbank from the video but I don't know if it is normal for the powerbank to download itself, I understand that if it is not used there is no download
where the best place for 18650 mate i only need two 3000mah 20a
If it's for vaping mate, I've tried the LG HG2 at 20A and they take it fine - www.18650.uk/lg-hg2-18650-battery
I think you’re capable of making that wireless charger 👍
I'll have a closer look - it may just be a case of fitting the coils. When you buy the cheaper versions of something, they usually just leave out the optional parts but all the connections are there.
If it was made from better material it would be a super cool Power bank . Like rav power or Anker Which I think are the two best out there
Hi there I wasn’t impressed Chinese calling you a liar you tell it as it is keep up the good work you know you’re a nerd at heart 👍
And can i Load a laptop with the Fast Charge Model?
But it is not automatically go off after full charge of mobile.
Looking on there website thay do a wireless version
Can you Charge a laptop with it?
how is the efficiency though?
Will the Cels be Balanced?
Can you give me a link to the 18650 please?
Cheers man 👍
If you're in the UK, you can't beat Fogstar mate. I've updated the description with links.
I honestly wouldn't buy batteries from China now, there's too many fake ones on the market.
Is there an email i can contact you on regarding something?? thank you
Well, it all depends on what it is? I don't want another wife if you're selling one 🤣 As long as it's an easy answer, I'll help but time is rather limited. My email is vortecks2000@gmail.com
Tone, would 16 cells of differing capacities from used laptop packs be ok to use?
Yes mate, as long as they're all at the same voltage, you can use them.
I can guarantee that some uneducated keyboard warrior will argue against that 😂
@@Vortecks Can you put in just 1 at a time? That way I could get them all to the same voltage before inserting them.
Thank!
it is safe to use li-po battery from laptop? i just want to modify the battery
It depends on the voltage. If it's a single cell with a maximum of 4.2V then yes, it's safe to use.
@@Vortecks thanks i might check the battery first
how do you charge the power bank itself? (all 16 cells)?
Simply by plugging one of the ports into a phone charger 😁
@@Vortecks thanks
@@Vortecks and waiting for 10 decades if it's a slow one 😁
@@Anonymous-qx5uk Oh yeah, at half an Amp, it'll take over 3 days if it's completely empty. With a 2A charger, it'll take 20 hours (if you have a 40Ah battery like mine).
I'm surprised your still shopping at Aliexpress after your last experience w/ the hub motor.
I bought this months ago mate, I thought it would make a nice change for people to see that some suppliers are actually selling decent stuff at a decent price 😁
I bought one of these. I noticed it discharges rapidly until it gets to 1%.
It stays on 1% longer than it does throughout the discharge cycle.
Its a good powerbank but its misleading in capacity. It was also advertised as "wireless" but its not.
I still like it providing you know the meter isn't accurate.
it's a shame one of these doesn't exist with a full BMS set up.
the way these are designed, cells will drift and eventually going to fail.
also, charging through USB, it's going to take a hell of a long time to charge than many cells in parallel.
Sorry John, they're all in parallel so they can't drift?
@@Vortecks seems you are correct, and I was simply uninformed/confused.
time to look for one that has the features I am after (12v out as well as USB and fast charging)
Not sure what would happen if one of the 16 cells decides to short out and all other 15 dump their charge through that one cell?
Pretty sure we can say that this bank has even all the cells separately fused (connector spring will probably melt).
The spring tab would burn out like a fuse happened to me, inserting the battery backwards.
Most quality cells also have a current interrupt device (cid) which will open when the cell gets hot and builds pressure.
Great idea, no BMS on it, but at the price great. could test it on my tester mate. You sold me mate. lol from Oz.
It's technically only a single cell so a BMS would be useless mate. Worth every penny though 😁
