- Here is the Gears 5 Wallbounce Tutorial! This is a step by step guide on how to get better at Wallbouncing in Gears 5. This takes you from the beginner to expert level. I teach and show you the different types of bouncing as well as give many tips for wallbouncing. If you are new to Gears in general, no problem. I show some things you can do to get more comfortable before getting into some real matches, and I hope to eventually see you guys grinding Ranked. GOOD LUCK!

You are much more refined than I am as I sat out all of gears 2 and gears 4 but one thing I noticed you didn't add that I thought would be very helpful for players to know is when you were talking about the blind fire shot always coming from the barrel, it's actually easier to aim by watching your elbow, your shot will always line up with your elbow as the barrel lines up with it too. And since you can actually see your elbow from a third person view I think it's much easier to aim blind fires that way.

the better I get at this the more fun the game is to me. I use left Bumper to bounce, it just feels better to me (kept the Class/Alt). Appreciate the time and effort here. 🙏
Be prepared to go through a lot of controllers playing on tournament control scheme. I've broken several.

Probably the best, most dumbed down wall bounce tutorial ive seen yet. Total honesty: I have learned the most valuable tips, skills, and pointers from you AVEXYS(#1) and your boy DOMEZ(#1A). My game is light years better today than rollout in September. I was late to the Gears party, and the ceiling for Gears is so high.

Great tips 👍 Unfortunately at 33, I just can't get my hand comfortable with the claw position, even though I can definitely understand its advantages by trying it. Much better to not have to move your hand form the right stick. I will keep trying to get better with the default style though. This definitely helped some.

Regarding the button layout I have found it WAY more efficient to map the A button to LB instead. This way you can keep both thumps on both analog sticks at all times without having to “claw” Great video tho!

I don’t like the idea of spamming bumpers as they’ve been the part of the controller that breaks the most in my experience

i mapped space to one of my mouse buttons, makes bouncing hella easy and fluid
Pad Elite has the ability to freely map the buttons in the attachable wings. I recommend it if you don't have long fingers like OP :)

I never see the camera change back to the middle when he is on cover. Does he actually use single stick movement? Is there a fix for it.

so at 8:45 is that just cancels back and forth while using side to side or angle? im a decent bouncer im just never really able to move in that type of movement. I learned camera bouncing since gears 2 but ive never really understood what made the character glide like that while still moving quick and foward, unless im doing a long glide with cancels
how do you do that one wall bounce where it looks like ur just slide canceling along the same wall on the same angle?

Haven't watched the video yet but heres my tips
1. Play classic alt - will take a while to get used to, eventually it will help. You can also remap to benefit your preferred controls
2. Left thumb stick - while bouncing in a "smaller area" you don't need to move the camera. Try to bounce by moving the left stick in a c motion across the top. Start from the left while moving up then go across from the right. So think of it as a clock, rotate from 10 to 2 and repeat.
3. In larger areas try you will probably need to rotate the screen, try to use a fast but comfortable sensitivity for your play style
- "Thumbs" player I guess you would say, not a fan of claw
Edit: I use LB to bounce, if you use A then I would recommend claw
Your LB button must be wrecked lol. I have went through quite a few controllers just by active reloading with the RB button and the controllers weren't even that old 😩

This is semi-off topic but is there a fix for some of the hotkeys while playing classic alt? I notice instead of Y or something to use Ultimate moves or something, it gets changed to RB + LB; The most annoying thing I've found to date is the fact LB +RB is the same as a reload input when using Classic-alt, it really fucks with me when Im trying to reload and use Tac-com or something and it just does an empty input.
If anyone has a fix for this please let me know

Nice tips but i dont think i could ever get use to grabing the controller that way i play in normal mode and the wall bounce stuff is pretty hard i tried the claw thing and it gets easier but i need the button for other things there must be a way in remapping to put the same button to have more functions but i got to figure it out a bit,i used tha Alt method but could not pick stuff up with X and the Y button always came up when not wanted.

Yooo forget that claw grip crap, that'll put u on the fast track to carpal tunnel syndrome. Invest in an Elite or Scuf controller instead; one of the best things I bought for gaming was my Elite controller, easily more worth it than even a headset. If you play anything competitively the back paddles are a huge advantage, you never gotta take your fingers off the sticks! Besides the grip, great video. Nice breakdown of a necessary skill for Gears.
Hard to justify paying $100 extra so you don't have to bother using the finger that come preinstalled on your hand
appreciate the tips dude, have any tips to stop your hands from hurting? I've gotten carpal pretty bad from gears/halo/cod back in the day and I wanna get back into gears but I just don't wanna ruin my hands more lol

Is there any way you could explain the timing for when you can fire your shot after a cancel or is it right before because it’s so different from gears 4 I used to be pretty good at bounce firing and I’m having trouble finding the rhythm for firing while bouncing in gears 5
I definitely know what you’re talking about, it’s like they added a cool down to when you can let off a shot, it gets me killed a lot when bouncing. ”I didn’t shoot!!?!?”
@@paresismh3413 someone mentioned to get rid of "input delay" try alt so I tried it out of curiosity and the same shit happened to me, went back to default and it works fine.

When wall bouncing is there a difference when you have your left stick going in a "V" motion than moving it just right to left while holding it up?
yeah, the V motion is because you're cancelling the bounce, left and right is when you're angle bouncing
@@Avexys yeah the way i bounce is moving the left stick from like 11oclock to 2oclock as i look left and right and tap A as i bounce, but the V direction for the left stick im guessing you can shoot as you wallbounce by using the V method.

Practice the sniper and suffer the horde consequences lol. They really did not think horde nor campaign controls out on tourney alt

I play on tournament. Do you think using LB instead of A, for bouncing, is a significant difference for bouncing speed, since LB is farther from the sticks, than A is?
A is better in my opinion because you can press it faster, but I don’t think it has anything to do with the distance from the sticks
There are vids of bouncing mechanics and aiming mechanics, but none about aiming while bouncing. You explain things clearly. You should do it.

Hey I watch your videos and I’m good at wall bouncing but my shots don’t work
Well I spent time with each controller setting and found that with the default setting if you map the A button (roadie, cover n etc) to the L3 button wall bouncing is way easier with single stick movement setting is on. Try it out. WARNING WHAT WORKS FOR ME MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU.

Kaotic Greek facts the screen just automatically goes back to whole other direction and it’s mad annoying and throws me off
Because you have single stick movement on, go to settings go to controller and turn it off
@@shmoofpapi I had to take it off of single stick movement because the re-center was very annoying. Maybe they'll fix it in future updates.

I swapped my "a" button to "y" i find it dosent hurt or aggravate your fingers as much at least for me its less of a stretch for your fingers

@@williamjenne5278 I think that default/alternate players have the highest potential when it comes to gameplay. I just personally think those schemes enable the best possible movement + accuracy combination.
