I absolutely love this! No shade to those who choose tradition, but it's inspiring to see that you and your fiancé have prioritized what truly matters to you rather than following what society dictates.
DO YOU OWN THING!!!! I got married 25 years ago and I had a ceremony in the middle of a party. To this day people who were there talk about how much FUN our wedding and reception were. Make sure you and your fiancee LOVE what you plan and you will have an amazing day. Congratulations!!
I love your content! Congratulations as you are entering your marriage. Pre-COVID, I also encountered not being a typical bride…attended the wedding expo, and as my fiancé and I were talking to a vendor, the Miss DC at that time asked if I was the mother of the bride 😧. Anyhoo, I think the expo experience showed my fiancé that a wedding is always for the guests, and not for the couple, so we opted for a civil ceremony with family, followed by dinner at (now closed, unfortunately) Wolfgang Puck’s The Source, which we booked as a dinner reservation, not as a wedding event. I’d already had the fairy tale wedding 20 years prior, and kids heading to college, so I wasn’t interested in paying wedding surcharges and other related drama.
I loved that turtle neck with the white Jacket❤ The last faux jacket was cute as well! I so agree with you about your wedding. Years ago, I made sure our honeymoon was paid for first! I had a traditional white gown and in 1997 prices were a whole lot cheaper. It is insane the markup on everything wedding related. This is about you and babe! Enjoy your time together of planning your special celebration! Peace and Blessings to you both❤
The way I hollered at " Ion even got no hair, I'm not Rapunzel" 😂 As a 52 year old and member of the LGBTQIA community, I absolutely get you on so many levels. Thanks for the great content ❤
This wedding is all about you and your fiance and that’s what matters. Point blank and to the period. We support you! See that faux fur is a reminder that trying on outfits can be a game changer.
I am with you on making your wedding what you want it to be. You want to enjoy your day. Love your ideas about what you are not doing. Spending tons of money has nothing to do with your love for each other. Love the faux fur. I have seen other content creators showing it. I would wear it.
I really love your list of things you are not doing for your wedding! I didn’t have a traditional wedding. I went agonist all the grains and made it mine.
Tashira you are going to a beautiful Bride !!! I love that you are so specific and detailed about what you like and don’t like while planning your wedding 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I think it’s so important bc when planning a wedding it can be stressful! But going into it in such a detailed way can take some that stress away bc when you find that invitation, that beautiful flower that will adorn the tables , the custom bridal attire, that perfect venue YOU WILL KNOW !!!
I love your non traditional typical approach to your wedding planning. It should be your and your fiancee’s vision and reflect your loving relationship. And the dry overpriced chicken will not be missed. Oh and that faux fur jacket is a vibe. Let me click the link and take a look.
Love your take on knowing what you want for your wedding at this age. I believe that's the best thing about wisdom of living. We don't feel compelled to follow the herd. Also the faux fur is definitely a winner. It's boss without trying. Brava brava!!
Girl, I hear you about the wedding culture. I had 26 people at my wedding, and that included the Pastor. We got married on a beach. Cocktails were served while we took photos. The reception was catered to and held on another beach at a beach restaurant by the owners, who are friends of my husband, and it was a party. What a jam. Our wedding cake was not even traditional. Heck, our invitations were like movie posters. LOL. It was fun and amazing. Do you and enjoy the process you and your fiancè are creating for yourselves? We only live once in this lifetime. Thank you for your video.❤🙏🏽
Thank you for being thoughtful about what is important and meaningful to you, and sharing that. Tradition so often feeds into the wedding industry to bleed as much money out of people as possible, often saddling those without the means, with incredible debt (just attended a wedding that was charged for multiple thousands of dollars). I wish everyone would give the same amount of thought and intention to their wedding plans and honeymoon and their future together rather than just doing what's expected. Of course, if it's their preference and desire to go with the traditional, if they're happy and have the funds - I'm happy for them.
You are so right. Me and my friends started pulling up with our toys . Ropes , bikes , bubbles and whatever else we want to play . My mental health needed it and so did theirs. Never stop playing with your friends . Me and my girl went to go play with alpacas yesterday….ok……Thank you girl , I needed this on today. I love how you think ✨💕
I had an old coworker do exactly as you’re describing. She planned a NYE party. Popped out at the beginning of the party with now hubby and minister and exchanged vows. Apparently the venue was livid - just the word wedding would have tripled the price. Insane.
Happy holidays sis! I'm really really enjoying the content. And just so you know that little faux fur. That was nice on you I really like how high the color is and how the fur framed your face and jaw. ❤❤❤
I love your wedding ideas…if I get married…I’m over 40 and I’m having an backyard ceremony with sliders and line dancing…I’ve always wanted a backyard ceremony
Hey Tashira, ❤ to see the wedding planning. I do see you in a lace flared jumpsuit or like you said, a high waisted pant with a corset top and train with a small net type veil covering your face. Something like that. You would look great in either a dress or pant anything. I liked the burgundy boots too.
listen that faux fur is giving total from the 2000’s in the best possible way 😂❤. also do your wedding your way! i’m jamaican and we partied so hard and it was the best night. wouldn’t change a thing
Yes to personalized weddings! I got married over 20 years ago but the brightest thing I regret is having a bridal party. Too many other people to be stressed about and unnecessary spending. I’d rather their support as guests where everyone is not so stressed
I just purchased it in cream. Also have black and burgandy. I have figured out that it's not good to open with the button. Better to just leave it buttoned and pull over the head, slip arms through.
I had a traditional, non-traditional wedding to make sure me and my husbands' dreams came true. 21 years later attendees are still talking about and copying it! The memory will be yours so do you! Also I owned a home and the hubby was moving from another state. We did not need things. I made my own invitations, the family and friends cooked a Caribbean meal. Our backyard was turned into a beautiful venue the night before. Next day we had the ceremony in a church and got in a convertible Bentley and split the scene. My husbands main request...after I say my vows I want to be with you not hosting a reception and throwing garters. We did that as we stood in the back of the Bentley LOL. We delicately asked for monetary gifts. At the time it was new to folks but we did it and most gave. The final day we left to a 1 month honeymoon. It was a 3 day event and the best time of my life!
my cousin had a cake and champagne wedding. It was early 11 AM and she served wedding cake, champagne, sparkling cider and tea sandwiches. It was very nice. Reception was just 2 hours. Good music but no dance only the wedding couple. It was refreshing
Anyone who watches you vlogs would never think your a typical bride. They better take that box and throw it out the window. You are bouje but anything but typical I can’t wIt to witness this wedding because I know it’s going to be simply amazing and out the box 🎉🎉
Let me preface this by saying, I am a "heterosexual" woman and as a woman of 56 years I will never get married. However, if one day I fell into the "stupid love pool" none of this so called traditional crap is for me. A vicious, sweat out your weave and lose a few pounds on the dance floor party is the way to go, food, drinks and a slamming dj is all you need. Keep the vlogmas coming, I love it!💚
Hi’ Politics&fashion The Leather Jacket.. on You ..was.. a Fashion.. Moment.. TheTop I said Last Vlog..A Winner The fur fur was A Keeper You can pull that.. Any way You want..
And IF you did decide not to serve food, so what! Those tictockers aren't invited anyway. Do what YOU do sis! The innenet get on my nerves! 🤦🏾♀️ Excited to see what the two of you decide.
I identify myself with your wedding beliefs. I would rather spend my money on an europe trip with my hubby to be than paying so much money for a food catering
I know of a phenomenal fashion designer who has amazing gowns, dresses and make gorgeous wedding fashion ! Franklin Rowe Located in NYC. I hope you will seek a consult with him. Award winning brother 🤎
You looked amazing in the first corset type wedding dress (outside of my own personal views), but I think you should express yourself as you said. As for your budget and deciding not to have catered food there, that makes sense within the context of what you said. ❤️🩷💕
I absolutely love this! No shade to those who choose tradition, but it's inspiring to see that you and your fiancé have prioritized what truly matters to you rather than following what society dictates.
So glad you're making your wedding your own thats special love it
YOU KNOW YOU are a SHOW STOPPER! I love your outfits!

When you said “bridal fair” I was like “…errrrrrrr!!!” 😮 You are way more exceptional than the traditional bride. Seriously.

Agree 100% as someone who got married at a bigger age [over 50]!! Good for you PARTY
I agree! A colleague of my paid $40k for wedding, not including the honeymoon! That could be a down payment on property!
Edible and a gummy!!😂😂😂 Where do I RSVP plz? Lol
