What is a Shapefile?

A brief but detailed overview of what a shapefile is. Firstly the broad definition as a vector GIS format and secondly a detailed look at the structure of a shapefile and what each part means.
Not sure why you need a .shx, .prj, .dbf and .cpg file? Then this is the video for you (spoiler alert: you probably don't actually need all of them).
