Great video. I like that you speak about how collective ownership increases affordability. This is the dirty little secret of capitalism. Another way to think of this type of affordability is something called 'production to scale,' which basically means 'cheaper by the dozen.' In capitalism, especially American capitalism, prohibits individuals and small businesses from pooling resources. Consider the fact that worker coops are so very hard to start up in the US compared to other capitalist countries. Only large companies and corporations are allowed to produce to scale and take advantage of the cheaper pricing that comes with this. The little person/business pays full price for everything. The net result is that only the big fish can be efficient, and it is they who sell the little fish all the redundant and/or unnecessary things that supply them with income and profits. We, through the forced inefficiency of American brand capitalism, find our income and wealth extracted from us to support the big fish, who of course is the 1%, or more accurately the top 15% (the shareholders). Intentional communities are a fantastic start to something that will hopefully catch on in all areas of life. Thanks for making these videos!
