Splendid. I had this Mass on a video cassette many years ago, and loved it so much that I wore it out. Am delighted to find all of it (albeit in pieces) here again when I am very old, with the same Vienna Choir voices. Max Emmanuel Cencic lived up to his great promise by becoming one of the best counter-tenors in the world. Am sad to think that all those beautiful young voices are now elderly people, like me! Such glorious music they made! My thanks to Mozart, to them, and to modern technology for the privilege we have of hearing this music again and again.
It surprises me how few comments are left after hearing this! ONLY a handful!
Such wonderful singing, and for me, now 82, it reminds me of when I was in Vienna aged
only 21 or 22 and visiting the Hoffburgkapelle from our Youth Hostel one Sunday morning.
No orchestra then though, but the building is beautiful and the occasion very memorable.
Also had previously spent 2-3 hours with the Vienna Boys Choir At Schonbrunn. However
my first contact with this wonderful was in New Zealand attending a concert when i was at
secondary school and probably only 15 or 16 years old. Now that I am old I watch on You
Tube and listen to CD's. Hopefully there will be a concert in Wellington before I die.

Why do they never give proper credit to the soloist boy in these records? This is an incredible record by Emmanuel Cencic and his wonderful voice !
You have to keep in mind that this was in the beginning of his career and also it was a Choir they have an egalitarian ethos and don't want to single out soloist boys to prevent jealousy and infighting amongst the boys. It's the Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson Problematique...
there are instances where wsk soloists are properly listed on the recordings - not sure of the inconsistencies...
Such a voice is truly a gift. I know the boys work diligently as well,... the sound & agility is truly beautiful

Supreme and sublime in hitting high notes, or any notes, so sweetly and exactly ~ though clearly there's hesitation in the trilling parts where he slows to deliberate and give the notes their place with equal confidence. Even so ~ we heard an angel sing ~ and, then, in the secondary Mozart part angels abundant.🙂

Ray Martin: i fully agree with your comment. Since the 19th of September I am 80 and still remember when I was arround 20 and I had the privilege of singing Mozart's Requiem in a Church Chorus in México City. Music just remember us we are membersw of only one community (Men kind)

They change, yes, but Cencic is now a wonderful counter tenor, and young Aksel Rykkvin is becoming one of the world's great baritones. So it's not all sad!
