Great video. I have always had better results running kalk. Idk what it is but I get little to no coraline growth without it. I suggest watching the BRS video about kalk and the purity of different brands if you have not already. Some of the brands have a lot of extra crap that you do not want to get in that beautiful tank.

The hulk is looking great! Your sand is so clean! How often do you vacuum it and what's your process? I would love it if you did a maintenance video, everything from cleaning the glass and filters all the way to blowing off your rockwork and cleaning the sandbed! Thanks for the videos!

Happy new year! I've had this hear to watch and funny enough I use the Deltec Kalkwasser and also the Brightwell Kalk +2 (sometimes my Mg goes to high so i go back to the normal kalk) - I just does it too (don't have a stirrer). Tank looks great - Happy Reefing!

Good video, but its not true that using the airline will send the fiber into the tank. There is more contamination in the house where your tank stays and airline with the natural oxygen from the outside makes it either better or at least doesn't harm a tank. Opening the door/windows would harm the tank with that concept btw...

Hi Ryan. I miss your reef videos. Hope you are doing ok. I am wondering if you think that reactor is worth the 1200 US dollar price tag. Is the little motor and stirrer pretty robust? I have a 700 gallon system (also in canada) I watched a ton of your videos while I was setting it up and love the info you have shared with this community to help us with our tanks. Cheers :)

Um....a skimmer IS a CO2 scrubber! That's why it is also known as a FOAMING FRACTIONATOR. It's mixing O2 into the water it scrubs, therefore, scrubing out extra CO2.

Need your advice. My tank 240G and running Cr and media used rowalithW and ph out from cr was 6.2ph dosing 25ml per min and been running kalkwasser dose 600ml Perday still my tank ph stays at 7.8ph. How should I do? Increase kalk dosage? Cos my tank max evaporate only 500ml+ perday

Agree big time of all places to run it. Even outside we have to be careful. Neighbour is mowing the lawn, or if your having a bonfire dust gas fumes could get sucked in mowing the lawn. All kinds of stuff we have to watch out for. I know I am not running into my attic change out filters lol. Next we will see him hook up a Kalkwasser stir I bet you lol.
