@@thereagauze I think it's clear in retrospect Iommi had the most vision in Black Sabbath. Even in recent years, Iommi wanted to write a new album after 13 but Ozzy and Geezer didn't have interest.
I remember wearing a Live Evil shirt back in and somebody asked me if I was an Ozzy or Dio era fan. I said I'm a Black Sabbath fan and I even liked the Ian Gillan album (7th Star wasn't out yet)
I'm so glad they re-released these albums. Along with the Eternal Idol, these albums prove once and for all that Tony Martin was a hell of a vocalist and deserved so much more credit and praise than he ever got! Damn good albums!! Thanks Tony for putting these out!
Great comment I could not agree more, Tony M deffo know how to string an interesting melody together over Mr Iommi's supercool guitar riffs! Fantastic album no doubt!
I am a Black Sabbath fan of the Dio and Martin's(Ray Gillen) eras. I can count on my fingers how many times i listened to a Sabbath Ozzy Era song sung by Ozzy. So i can say that all of Martin's albums are awesome.
Totally agree. Dio and Tony are the best. I prefer TYR one million times than Paranoid. I can't stand Ossie whining all the time, he just couldn't sing, he was pathetic and boring, so he was, by far, Sabbath's worst singer ever. Ossie is the most overrated guy in heavy metal history. I had all of his Sabbath albums on vinyl and thrown all of them away
As a longtime fan of Black Sabbath from back in the 70's it does not matter who is singing as long as Tony Iommi is playing his guitar because I have liked them all, so it did not take long to like Tony Martin...his voice is a perfect fit.
Eternal Idol, Headless Cross and Tyr are emblematic albums. Where Black Sabbath achieves impressive sound quality and instrumental weight. The band's composition in these projects revealed the vision that Iommi desires, they are unforgettable and essential masterpieces in the history of Heavy Metal.
I've always had a thing for Ian Gillian (forgive the spelling if I got it wrong). I think it's more about the formula and the incredible creativity from the riffs to the lyrics to the underlying themes, attitude and style that thread through the original 8 studio albums and to a lesser degree the rest of the bands albums
Thank you Mr. Iommi for shining a big beautiful light on the Tony Martin era! One of the best metal singers ever! Probably one of my most anticipated releases ever with this upcoming box set. Thanks again! My brain and my ears cannot wait😊😊😊
LOVE THIS ALBUM! Cozy's thunderous, varied fills are majestic and Tony's vocals are sublime. Easily my second favourite Sabbath singer after Dio (I might've revised my opinion if Ray Gillen had stayed but I guess if he did, we'd have never had Badlands...). Hope Tony Iommi does something with Tony Martin again, a few shows or new music. Could even draft in Neil Murray and Bobby Rondinelli ❤
God this is Sabbath's most powerful song ever. The drums, bass, synth, guitar and screeching vocals, everything strikes as a sledgehammer and I love it
I really like the work of Glenn Hughes on Seventh Star too. And also thing that the game could be very different if Ray Gillen had more time with Sabbath, that guy could really sing
Bow down to the master. The heavy metal god, the one riffmaster to rule them all. And to the singer and lyricist equalled by few and surpassed by none. And to the thunderous rhythm section from hell, and to the inimitable provider of eerie atmosphere behind the keys. Bow down to Black Sabbath.
A great album and all the albums with Tony Martin are a delight to my ears, I love this stage of Black Sabbath and I had the opportunity to see the original line-up + Tony Martin in Chile greetings from Chile
hopefully, Iommi has one more go of it and has a final Black Sabbath tour with Tony Martin. the Martin era is ignored by so many Sabbath ‘fans’ but has some of the most powerful, well written material in their catalogue.
Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osborne are 50/50 co- owners of the Black Sabbath name unless three original members are recorded it will not be released under the name Black Sabbath.

I love Dio (as all metalheads do) but honestly…Tony Martin’s voice is RIGHT THERE in terms of greatness as far as I’m concerned. The poor guy had the unfortunate luck of following two iconic metal frontmen and at a time when Iommi was churning through bandmembers at a ridiculous rate (the coke didn’t help matters), but Martin gave 100% in the studio and contributed brilliant vocals to some criminally overlooked albums.
With his appearance in the band Toni Martin revived Black Sabbath, created and with his brilliant voice sang unforgettable songs. The keyboard is incredible.... the riffs too, but the drums are TOP!
Tony Martin's vocal range and performance on this album and Headless Cross is absolutely stunning.
He is also great on The Eternal Idol and Cross Purposes.
