This movie feels so lived in, virtually every character could feasibly be spun off into their own sub-franchise. The kinetic energy, the humor, the banter, Tangerine and Lemon mourning one another, there's a visual and narrative symmetry to the proceedings. Such a joy to watch over and over again.
Lemon and then Tangerine finding their brothers bodies in turn with the tiny vignette of them as little boys during the first instance and the bestowing of the Thomas sticker after we learn Tangerine is the actual survivor in the second instance is genuinely heartbreaking and such good storytelling. I totally agree that they are the standouts even though I really liked every character in the movie.
"You put peace out in the world, you get peace back." Everyone has been demanding for a "Tangerine" and "Lemon" spin off series or film. Hopefully our thoughts will be heard! Also, I don't care how "good" this movie is because "Bullet Train" is probably the most continuously entertaining film of the year and it just keeps on getting better every time I rewatch it. Basically, people who hate on this film just hate fun.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry are THE best parts of this wild ensemble piece. The running line about Thomas (and Aaron's John Lennon-esque impression) are very funny. And the second best bullet train katana fight (1995's The Hunted still has the crown 😉).
Aaron wasn’t doing a John Lennon impression. He was doing a Ringo Starr impression. Ringo was the only human star in Thomas. It was a pretty iconic role for him. And Aaron’s impression of him was impressive and spot on!!
Lemon & Tangerine make me cry every time. Also, in my head cannon, Channing Tatum's Bullet Train character is Alan from Lost City, Brad Pitt's Lost City character, Jack Trainer, is Ladybug, and this is how they end up connecting at the meditation retreat.
Lemon and Tangerine's accents are East London. The Premier League team from that area is West Ham United. The teams theme song is 'I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles' hence several versions of the song are playing during their scenes.
So funny that so many people online and reactors say they want a prequel of Lemon & Tangerine! That was my first thought too and I can’t remember another movie that made me think that after watching it. They just really stole the show and Tangerine was also Quicksilver in the MCU and he’s just getting more and more handsome
Caught this one the weekend it debuted at one of my favorite theaters to visit and not only were we the crowd riveted, the servers bringing us items were stopping to stand in every few minutes. I love every rewatch of this one!
This is such a polished film, it works on so many levels and every angle & beat adds up so perfectly to the whole; I'm very glad you chose this for a reaction video and it was a nice change to see you both on a first time viewing. Please keep the content coming!
This movie is so amazing, it has SO much style and is unique, but the best thing in it is definitely Lemon and Tangerine. Everyone loved them so much some people want some sort of prequel series with them (wrote this before they talked of a prequel in the discussion). It sucks only 1 survived
I saw this one in Dolby Cinema at AMC. One of 2022's best, both for that summer and the year. Impressive cast, so many storylines. Shades of Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino's films. All over the place. Twists, turns and cyclones. I was so easily caught in this from the first trailer. "Maria Beetle" is the novel that the film is based on and the title character is played by Sandra Bullock (sounding and looking so good). Btw, Sandra Bullock with Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt were in another film, same summer, "The Lost City" (kinda fun). The director of BT, David Leitch did such a great job. You oughta catch the cold war thriller he made called Atomic Blonde (2017) with Charlize Theron.
Even though Emily isn't a big fan on Gory Violent deaths in movies this by far 100% is the only exception for a Gory/Violent death Movie to be Emily's Top Favorite Movie....My favorite Death Scene is when Lemon raises the guy through the Bullet trains Roof port hole and "Sign" out of the world of the living. 🤣🤣
the Cameo of Channing Tatum happened because of this Movie being filmed If I remember right during the same time as (2022) "The Lost City" with Sandra and Channing and Brad which was basically a Knock Off Version of (1984's) "Romancing The Stone"...Just saying...and Ryan's Cameo was Ryan returning the favor for Brad doing a short/quick Cameo in Deadpool 2
The girl assassin is Joey King. She's great, she's been in a lot of stuff, but I think I first heard of her when she played Gypsy Rose in The Act on Hulu
I enjoyed the connections between the actors. Pitt had appeared in a recent movie with Bullock and Tatum. Bullock of course had been in a movie with Reynolds, and of course the Deadpool connection.
Love this film, I saw it on a whim as I'm not much for big budget action movies. Absolutely loved it, couldn't stop laughing. Also totally agree about Aaron Taylor-Johnson! I really hope the rumours that he might be the new James Bond are correct
Not quite a comedy, but another one with a similar vibe (lot of unique assassins converging on each other) would be "Smokin' Aces (2006)" which also has a great cast of famous faces too.
I had the amazing luck to decide on a whim to see this without any idea of what it was about. I ended up doing a random, unplanned double feature at the theater with this and Barbarian and was really worried, after leaving the latter, that whatever I watched after wasn't going to be able to match up... Damn was I glad to be proven wrong. I bought this the second it became available on digital and have made it a mission to show it to as many people as I can. Fully agree about Lemon and Tangerine stealing the show, and wanting a whole show of more of them. This also made me about a million times more excited to see ATJ as Kraven, as well. He scruffs up damn good.
The weird thing about this movie is that I've been on this shinkansen, from Tokyo to Osaka (and back), the trip takes 4 hours on the slower train. It seems like they're on it all night in the movie.
I feel for Matthew when he gets a really primo viewer submitted nickname, like this time. He's kinda stuck with "I like it." It doesn't really give enough credit. But if he says anything more, than the other basic nickname providers know he's only being kind to them! 😄
Sadly, the 2 main asian actors, the ticket taker was Masi Oka, Hiro from the tv show Heroes, and the cart girl Karen Fukuhara, Katana from Suicide Squad and Kimiko from The Boys were kind of dismissed, but are some of my favorite surprise roles in this movie. I think of this movie as a somewhat sequel yo zthe Lost City
Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock must have made their cameos after Brad did his bit for them in The Lost City. Brad must have had a good time working with them and Ryan Reynolds because he doesn't work with people he doesn't like.
The "poor civilian" 17th kill...was the director.😂 Bryan Henree and Joey King put on RDJ level British accents...but I'm American so that's all I've got for reference, what say you Brits?
Actually pretty decent accent work - a little stereotypical, but NOT inaccurate. A London accent and an 'educated at a private elite school' accent. You can easily find people with those accents in England.
You mentioned the Ryan Reynolds sort of payback cameo for Brad Pitt but what’s really interesting is the Channing Tatum cameo a couple months after this came out Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock did a movie. I think it was called the lost city or something like that and Brad Pitt had a small part cameo in it.
Thanks for the reaction as always! Will check this out soon. Another one I need to watch out for is 1975's 'The Bullet Train' which is a Japanese thriller that inspired the story for 'Speed'.
Some great descriptions of the movie. 23:13 this movies just all setups and payoffs 37:16 Oops All Chekhov's Guns 20:20 did not know (he/)she was in this movie
You should follow this up with Lost City, starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. They agreed to do the small but memorable roles in Bullet Train in exchange for Brad Pitt doing a small but memorable role Lost City. It's a wild ride as well!
I love this movie! The only issue I have is the fact that Brad Pitt defies physics when the train crashes, but I can forgive that for such a fun romp. Loved your reaction. It was like watching it all over again!
This movie seems to have two camps, either people love it or they hate it. Now most criritcs hated this movie. I loved it and it's nice to see that most average people enjoy it as well.

Oh, Brad Pitt Lady Bug Character is Both Good luck & Bad Luck. Bad Luck for anyone who try's to hurt/kill him which in turn Makes Brad's Character Lucky...got to remember the Lady Bug analogy story in how the Lady Bug spot's takes in and holds all of the bad luck so then good luck can happen...think about every time Brad bumps into someone or something that seem very unlucky to brad that's Him taking in the Bad Luck then The Producing of personal Good Luck takes into effect which is very unlucky for anyone around him but there is a reversed effect where if anything Lucky that happens to Brad then Bad Luck happens like at the end. which there was double luck that happened to Brad in a short span 1. where the White Death taking himself out and 2. Lemon luckily coming through and taking out the Prince with the Tangerine Truck... then it's Bad Luck's turn to take effect and that's when the power pole falls and lands on the car.
I'm telling you, Carver knew he was a marked man and ran for the hills, he was never sick.
That or he was just a lazy assassin, lied about being sick, and his laziness inadvertently saved him
Ok, given who plays him. . .I'd say that's more accurate. @@darthsader7089
I think that Carver thought a simple grab job was beneath him, and faked being sick.
Nah, it's just ladybug luck. I think Carver eat something and spend whole day on the toilet.
@@scover3
Lol that actually fits perfectly!
This movie feels so lived in, virtually every character could feasibly be spun off into their own sub-franchise. The kinetic energy, the humor, the banter, Tangerine and Lemon mourning one another, there's a visual and narrative symmetry to the proceedings. Such a joy to watch over and over again.
I think every major character is actually a reference to an existing franchise or style of assassin/underworld film.
i would not be surprised if Lemon and Tangerine got a spin off where they explore their past
It feels so small but "water? you want some water?" is one of the funniest lines ever to me for some reason.
This movie was so phenomenal - setups, payoffs, references, everything just WORKED.
The only problem is ladybug survived. He was the most annoying character.
Lemon and then Tangerine finding their brothers bodies in turn with the tiny vignette of them as little boys during the first instance and the bestowing of the Thomas sticker after we learn Tangerine is the actual survivor in the second instance is genuinely heartbreaking and such good storytelling. This is one of those movies where the actors are clearly having a great time
Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry are THE best parts of this wild ensemble piece. The running line about Thomas (and Aaron's John Lennon-esque impression) are very funny.
And the second best bullet train katana fight (1995's The Hunted still has the crown 😉).
Without a doubt. I'm hoping some day we'll get spin-off movies of their earlier adventures.
Was that Christopher Lambert? Holy moly, I remember that movie! "There's no such thing as ninjasaaargh!"
@@theaikidoka He likes 🐖 😉

Might I suggest Shoot Em Up, another fantastic action movie with Clive Owen. Great reaction as always.
Smokin' Aces, Lucky Number Slevin
Oh HELL YEAH! Shoot Em Up definitely has this same vibe and satisfaction. A must see for Emily (and Matthew)!
@@jaxonrenick5536Oh most definitely they should react to that movie.
That gun-toting flick!! Glad you mentioned that one, it had numerous, non-stop adrenaline actions.
Shoot Em Up is great!
Lemon and Tangerine's accents are East London. The Premier League team from that area is West Ham United. The teams theme song is 'I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles' hence several versions of the song are playing during their scenes.

Yeah. I could use a Carver spin-off, too. I feel like Ryan Reynolds would be great in a Bullet Train franchise.
I never heard Matthew exclaim in a movie before! That was awesome!
'that was fucking awesome' 😂😂😂 couldn't agree more
Did anyone else notice that it was the same truck that nearly ran over Ladybug at the beginning of the movie, that Lemon used on The Prince?
I have seen this twice, once in theater, and once streaming, and a least 5 times here on reaction channels. I laugh every single time.
I watched it twice in a week. I don't re watch much.
There is an audience out there SCREAMING for a Lemon & Tangerine prequel.
My favorite theme in this was Brad Pitt constantly going on about his bad luck, when he literally was the luckiest person on earth.😂😂
I rarely buy physical copies of movies anymore, but this one was the rare exception :)
I love everything about this movie and I'm glad you guys loved it too! Brad Pitt was in top form here.
Watched this on a flight to Japan.....somehow riding the actual shinkansen never felt so boring....
You sooo need to see Grosse Pointe Blank and Smokin' Aces, same kind of humor and violence.
Hello fellow Grosse Pointe Blank fan!
Caught this one the weekend it debuted at one of my favorite theaters to visit and not only were we the crowd riveted, the servers bringing us items were stopping to stand in every few minutes. I love every rewatch of this one!
This was my most entertaining movie of 2022. And a definite surprise.
C'mon knucklehead, there were alot better movies in 2022
This is such a polished film, it works on so many levels and every angle & beat adds up so perfectly to the whole; I'm very glad you chose this for a reaction video and it was a nice change to see you both on a first time viewing. Please keep the content coming!
Sandra Bullock agreed to be the voice of his handler in this movie while they were working together on the Last City.
Saw this in 4d. That crash gave me so much whiplash! 🤣
The reviews were dismissive, but you have convinced me to watch Bullet Train for myself. Love you guys!
OMG that half day joke had me dying!!!
This movie is so amazing, it has SO much style and is unique, but the best thing in it is definitely Lemon and Tangerine.

Kill Bill and Snatch vibes is accurate, plus I'm sure they also saw Martin McDonogh's Seven Psychopaths.
Reminded me a bit of Smokin Aces
"chekhov's armory" made me lol
Even Chekhov's water bottle
You did NOT mess that up, that was just fine! :)
Nobody went and saw this in theaters. That’s why we only get remakes, and franchises with 5+ movies.
1:53 We have bullet trains in the states too. I've taken the Acela from Philly to Washington DC. Nowhere near as fast as the one in Japan though.
I forgot how much i enjoyed this movie, it got ripped by critics, but it was fantastic in theatre
This movie was a gem. Loved every minute of it.
The guy who plays tangerine is the one who's Wanda's twin brother in the Marvel universe. Also he's in Kraven the hunter film.
I'm so glad they reacted to this movie. I loved Bullet Train yo.

I'm telling you, this is a live action 90s anime. If Tarantino directed Black Lagoon.
Yes!!! I love Bullet Train and I’ve been waiting for you both to do this one. Can’t wait!

lemon marking the son as percy is funny cause that actor played percy jackson in those movies 😂😂
One of my favorite movies in a long time. Was super hyped to see a new reaction to it.
I love it so much when a movie gives Matt the surprised look as much as Emily XD
Saw it in the theater. What a ride! Great reaction. Knew it would be.
I enjoyed the connections between the actors. Pitt had appeared in a recent movie with Bullock and Tatum. Bullock of course had been in a movie with Reynolds, and of course the Deadpool connection.
Brad Pitt had a small role in the Movie “The Lost City”, they were filming both movies at about the same time

We got a little snippet cameo from Ryan there because Brad got to show his face momentarily in Deadpool 2 ;)
This movie and Nobody were my favorites of the last couple of years.
Man, I loved this film, it was such a fun ride!
(Heh, get it, ride? Ahhh, you get it!)
I am sorry I didn't see it in the theater - because this is one of my favorite movies ever.
I never knew Sandra Bullock could have such a sultry voice, I barely recognize her every time.
The weird thing about this movie is that I've been on this shinkansen, from Tokyo to Osaka (and back), the trip takes 4 hours on the slower train. It seems like they're on it all night in the movie.

This is my 3rd viewing. I did not realize ladybug also killed people with their own weapons
Cracking film,,, so much better than i thought,, and so much better than most films out there,, fab film.
LMAO you probably know by now but just in case, the train serving-cart girl was Kimiko from _The Boys_ hehe 😆
Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock must have made their cameos after Brad did his bit for them in The Lost City. Brad must have had a good time working with them and Ryan Reynolds because he doesn't work with people he doesn't like.
Michael Shannon came a long way from his first theatrical movie appearance in Groundhog Day.
The attendant with the cart plays Kimiko in The Boys.
One of the funniest and craziest action comedy movies ever made!
It's far from that, it was a huge disappointment
When I saw this movie and would describe it to people, I made the same comparison of Kill Bill meets Snatch.
The "poor civilian" 17th kill...was the director.😂 Bryan Henree and Joey King put on RDJ level British accents...but I'm American so that's all I've got for reference, what say you Brits?

You can count on like 1-2 hands the good movies to come out in let few years and this is solidly on it just so we’ll done and so entertaining
Welcome to the Tangerine & Lemon fan club! We have heartbreak and hope for a prequel on the snack table.
I absolutely loved your reactions Emily!! It took me awhile to find a good reaction video to this movie. I loved giggling along 🫶🏼😂

We need a Lemon and Tangerine prequel movie!
She got isekai'd by "Truck-kun.
Such a great film, can’t wait for the sequel when it comes out. You’d probably love Gerard Butler’s film Cop Shop, it’s got a similar tone.
This movie is like a Quentin Tarantino movie and a Guy Ritchie movie in one movie.

tangerine & lemon, love them!! and yess! would love to watch a spin off of their story!
Love all the action in this. Great pick 👏 👌
Keep up the great reactions 👍. Thanks from pa USA 🇺🇸 😊 💖
I enjoyed both of your reactions. And also the orange-and-white death in the background, there.

I saw this in the theater high as giraffe 😼
Loved this movie so much that I bought it for my parents for Christmas. I called it a Japanese action Pink Panther movie.
i should buy that pillow for cats 😂 its looks so comfortable
Brad Pitt was so funny in this movie and yeah Lemon and Tangerine stole the show :)
Aaron Taylor-Johnson in this film sounds like Jay from The Inbetweeners.
Oh, Brad Pitt Lady Bug Character is Both Good luck & Bad Luck. Brad Pitt was an absolute gem in this film. Now I need to see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Pippin is so friggin’ cute.
Cool reaction as always Emily & Matthew, you both have a nice day
