The privilege of knowing we're educating and entertaining anyone capable of connecting to RUclips (some, who's only avenue for education might just be RUclips), while adding a positive and beneficial variable to the human zeitgeist is reward enough to keep us doing this for the foreseeable future. Thanks as always, LaTavia!! Planning in trips to our home territory any the near future?
I don’t know what the hell is up with these ghosts. The LAST place I’d be haunting is my old job. I spend enough time there in life, I’m not hanging out in death!
As a person who’s lived in Portland for 10 years, guarantee the Hollywood Theater has ghosts. It’s so busy it seems out of place but weird things happen when you’re alone upstairs. I was alone in a bathroom stall and heard someone walk across the bathroom in fancy shoes ‘click clack’ slowly across the tile. Only to open the door and no one was there. Was pretty strange and scary at the time but downstairs was a full theater
I lived up there for a while (back in Central now) and yea, I would say like 99% of McMenamins locations give off serious freaking Haunted Mansion vibes! Have you been to any of our other listed PDX locations?
My friend had her wedding reception in the Benson and they catered it. Inside and the rooms always reminded of the beauty and luxury of the Titanic movie (1997). I was in awe of the wood and the details of the hotel. They even had servers in tuxes in lobby offering cigar's and after dinner brandy to hotel guests. I don't know if it's like that anymore because it was a long time ago but it was definitely extravagant. Whenever U.S. presidents come in Portland that's where they stay.
Salem 👋 Been to Portland more times than I could count! Been to a couple of these places. My moms been to the Benson. Neither of us had any paranormal experience. But we also didn't stay overnight either.
I have a friend who used to work at the Portland Rescue Mission downtown. She saw a ghost on a security camera walk down some stairs and sit next to a coworker. That coworker then came into the office afterward (where my friend was) and said she felt like a presence had sat beside her. My friend hadn't yet told her of what she saw. Freaky. I've also heard of other restaurants in Portland with haunted stories. And, of course, the old Shanghai Tunnels have a lot of haunted stories.
I digging all these uploads!! Either I'm way wrong, but looks like some more subs have been coming your way too! Im glad more people get to enjoy the brilliance of the channel! And The Benson sounds like my kind of place! I'll take the 9th floor.
I love the Pittock mansion!! So beautiful. One time I was inside touring and the lights turned on and off (btw no one was near the light switch) and even workers were confused
If only it was the VMAs from 1993 with Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love and the Baby Bean Frances. When Nirvana got an award. This channel definitely rocks better Though!
My Daughter and I have experienced several happenings at the Pittock Mansion. The very first time we went there we were bombarded by several things. When we first entered the mansion we smelled the scent of rose perfume indicating that Georgianna was present. When we asked our tour guide about it She said she also smelled it. Yet no one else on our tour seemed to. Second when we went into the musicroom/livingroom we heard the piano playing with no one around it and yet no one again noticed. Third and fourth things that happened concerned the elevator and Henry. When we stepped into the elevator with our tour guide and several other people we again had an experience. In the left corner was the shadow of Henry and we also smelled smoke. Again no one else in the elevator noticed. The Pittock Mansion is a beautiful place with wonderful views of Portland. We urge people to go and even if they don't have the experiences we did it's still worth the time and effort. ENJOY!!
The Baghdad has a really good local black cherry Ale. I normally dont drink brew, but it's actually a really smooth drink for a beer. I snuck onto the property of Pittock Mansion one night, and peaked into the windows of the rooms. That home is so creepy looking. I would really love to live there (the house is open for tour every Tuesday and Thursday from 12pm-4pm). I've seen several movies in the Hollywood theater; to this day it is one of my favorite theaters to go to (there is one from the 1940s down the road on sandy Blvd called The Roseway theater; which I know for a 100% fact it is haunted), when I had been there I have seen shadow people. The Benson Hotel is THE MOST expensive hotel in Portland (it's almost $800 a night), and when I had gone in there to explore it, the hallways give off a really eerie vibe and you feel like you feel like you're being watched the whole time. The White Eagle gives private tours and allows you to spend the night if you pay them enough; it's considered the most haunted bar/hotel in Portland. Ghost Adventures did an episode on it.
The Benson was a nice hotel.I'm going down in October, but not staying there this time.I was just researching in my last visit that it was haunted.I do have disabilities, but I have not experienced any paranormal on my first stay.Still had trouble sleeping though.😅
I'm born and raised in Portland. I've been to the bagdad, the Hollywood and the white eagle before the mcmenamins bought it. Never saw or felt anything. The only thing I remember was a band called the blubinos at the white eagle and how loud they were. We all gave up trying to talk to each other 😂 Good times...
I have no doubt the Roseland Theater has a ghost inhabiting the place. Murder usually is a catalyst for ghosts because of an untimely death coupled with unresolved issues. I hope he decided to remain on this plane to make sure those who visit the Roseland have a good time like a few other ghosts who haunt theaters that you mentioned.
@@FrightNightScares I wish I visited Portland when I was living on the West Coast. I only found out about the Roseland via a search and I have heard the theory from others online about the correlation between murders and ghosts. Actually I really have never had a supernatural experience which is strange because I’m the one in my family who strongly believes in ghosts. I used to visit Danbury and I never had any brush with spirits, same with Mark Twain house (supposedly a few people have heard papa which might be one of his daughters). I did hear from a Creepy New England video about the Brown and Hopkins country store a clear little hi and when I mentioned it the people who run it said that the spirits said to haunt that place are very friendly and playful. I don’t think there has ever been any murders committed at the store so that rules out murder victims. I wish I had visited the Brown and Hopkins when I was living in Connecticut.
Thanks for checking out this upload @brandyjean7015. We agree and absolutely love all of the McMenamins locations! Which ones are your personal favorites?
@@FrightNightScares that would be celebrating my birthday @ Edgefield in Troutdale! However, I live closest to the Olympic Club in Centralia, so that location is my go to.
This is so funny I live in Portland and have been to these places a bunch of times and had no idea they were haunted they were just places I like to go
I do agree with the White Eagle being number one. Spent one night there and had lots of experiences. It's a great place to hangout or stay - but may not be the best place for a good night's sleep....
@@FrightNightScares We had equipment going off all night, including when we asked it to go off or on. And around 1am we were just talking and all of a sudden the room got ice cold - like see your breath cold - and then the equipment went off again. McMenamin’s hotel in McMinnville is haunted or possessed or something like that. We stayed overnight and the mural on the wall kept changing. Creepy vibe - never been back there!
I've been to all of these places except the White Eagle, and I must say they are all pretty creepy. For me, the Hollywood Theater is definitely the spookiest though!!!!
Why does no one ever talk about the Avalon in Portland, the Edgefield, or the Kennedy School or Ground Kontrol formally Cisco and Panchos. Those places are also pretty crazy haunted
It's funny. I've been into ghosts all my life and I've heard about the White Eagle when I lived in DE. I knew how haunted it was and thought it was awesome. I moved to Oregon in 2009 and finally realized after working for Mcmenamins for a year that it's the one and the same I learned about as a kid. Definitely going to make a trip up there sometime to check it out 😊😅

What about the Shanghai tunnels?
Right! Those are way more haunted than these places.
Those should have an episode of there own probably.
And the Pizzeria that’s above the Shanghai tunnels
