For this song to work with as few musical elements as it uses means that the ones it does use have to be incredibly well polished, and they are. Billie's control over her voice is shown off in this song really well, and even though Finneas's part is meant to be complementary I could listen to the simple melody of that guitar all day. Phenomenal Musicians.

The lighting and camera staff deserve as much kudos as Billie and Finneas. Notice how the yellows of the lights fade into the yellow of their faces, guitar, buttons, and the red scarf of Finneas blends into the red in Billie's outfit, and the timing of the steady cam circles matches perfectly with the flow of the performances with the ending closeup of Finneas guitar strings. Personally not a huge fan of all that "side-to-side" movement, but outside of that little jerk and a few other minor imperfections, the camera work was on another level here. Doing it all in one take on a song that is being recorded live makes it all the more impressive.

One aspect of human art so endearing is its non-perfection. I’ve produced hundreds of amateur RUclips videos and there’s a minimum of one flaw in each of them, thus my appreciation for professional productions that Billie takes personal responsibility for. Notice how the yellows of the lights fade into the yellow of their faces, guitar, buttons, and the red scarf of Finneas blends into the red in Billie's outfit, and the timing of the steady cam circles matches perfectly with the flow of the performances with the ending closeup of Finneas guitar strings. @@RIDESTHETICS Hey, good catch on that gimbal reframing. I bet you that Billie noticed it because she's a stickler for detail.
Personally not a huge fan of all that "side-to-side" movement, but outside of that little jerk and a few other minor imperfections, the camera work was on another level here. Doing it all in one take on a song that is being recorded live makes it all the more impressive.
@@lamosos Agreed, and another factor is performing all this steady camera work in silence without tripping, bumping, sniffling, farting, stomach growling, or scraping. One aspect of human art so endearing is its non-perfection. I’ve produced hundreds of amateur RUclips videos and there’s a minimum of one flaw in each of them, thus my appreciation for professional productions that Billie takes personal responsibility for. Her lyrics, artistic values match her voice talent. Go Billie!
