    Thank you for posting this. I wasn't able to make it this last October, maybe this year. I always like getting info from different places, getting cards because you never know what you will need and of course you try to pass the information onto others.

    I have attended the York Tain show for many, many years. I also did many video productions for my school system during my 30 years in education. When you come up to a man at a booth you ask him for his story. What are you selling here. Tell us about your product and questions of that sort. Don' t ask the the question do you want to say anything to You tube. Ask them about their products, their company, how they got into their business. Questions such as that. I am positive that they will respond and you will not be able to shut them up. Try it next York. Then when thy are talking you slowly pan over their products giving your viewers a look at what is at York. you will get more subscribers as a result. ry it.

    Confirms my apprehension about joining the TCA. A lot of the vendors were not very helpful and some seemed annoyed that you would ask them a question about their vendor space, why be there if you really didn't want to be of any help or service?

      That's very true. There's a few reasons for it. TCA is mostly retirees, Young people aren't treated well by TCA members some times, myself included and I'm nearly 40, and large trains are expensive to own, run and build layouts for so younger folks prefer smaller scales. There are some things the industry can do to help the situation but I'm afraid it's a futile effort long term for larger scales.

    • @MRBenchwork
      @MRBenchwork  2 года назад +1

    The show halls looked like a ghost town. Why would any of the vendores spend their time and money attending this show? There might have been a lot of stuff to see but frankly I was somewhat shocked by the lack of people in attendance. Sorry to say this but Covid or no Covid I think this yearly train exhibit is on its last legs. What happened - the internet seems to have killed it off!

    • @MRBenchwork
      @MRBenchwork  2 года назад

      In 2019 the show was packed. Only one vendor slot was empty and that was due to an accident on the way to the show if I recall. As for visitors the isles were so packed at times it was difficult to see the other side of the isle. I went through more Literature at that one show than I had at my previous 10 shows (mostly florida) combined. 2022 will be a better show. This year was just a fluke. You also have to keep in mind that this was only one of 6-7 total buildings and it was recorded before the show opened on Thursday.

    • @burlingtonbill1
      @burlingtonbill1 Год назад

      This was a shocker -- this WAS an October show, usually bigger than April's. There were big gaps with no booths (@ 9:06, @23:00, @23:32, 30:21), suggesting to me, fewer vendors. This looked like early AM setup. The public wouldn't have been allowed in yet. The hobby looks to be in decline, in terms of numbers of vendors and buying public.
