This was a super helpful review! I was trying to see how the black leather wore over time before I made the purchase, at it looks great. Looks like I'll be ordering some saddleback products very shortly, thank you again!
I've had the large bifold in black wallet 14 years I think. My only wallet, carried everyday. The black leather doesn't show age much. The corners are a little squished and the edges are good and burnished. Overall has a little shine but goes away after an oiling. So I expect your bag to soften but the black don't crack. So for folks that want their saddleback leather to show age, don't get black.
Other than occasional sprinkles, not much rain. The sprinkles didn't do much to harm it at all. This bag has, however, been vomited on by a toddler, and the evidence of that has virtually disappeared. If it can take yack, I am sure it can take some rain!
It can take some rain! Lower quality leathers shrink in the rain because it’s been stretched. Not SBL. I own a front pocket backpack and have taken that thing all over. I abuse that bag. It does not need babying. And the leather has held up great.
Finally a review of one in black, looks gorgeous.
Great review and story, love this bag and to hear from a pilot. Give us a 2 year update! Subbed
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!

No problem, thanks for watching! I've been happy with how it is aging so far! I can definitely tell its feeling softer as it is used more.
Awesome bag …I own the DCB
No grommets on the back pouch where it attaches to the main body.
Is the bag wide enough to fit a Bose A30 headset you think?

Have you been caught in the rain with the bag? Wondering how the leather held up.

This will fit next to a 737 seat or airbus seat EASILY so you would be able to use it
