World Book Day Launch 2022

World Book Day is on Thursday 3rd March, and we will be celebrating this event throughout the day.
At Countesthorpe Academy we strive to bring the passion of reading to all of our students, grounded in our school values of respect, resilience and success, so that all pupils can ‘be the best you can be’.
As well as our usual reading opportunities across the curriculum, library visits for key stage 3 pupils, library lunch time sessions, intervention reading groups and literacy strategies within the classroom, we want to continue to support your child in reading for pleasure. To help with this there will be lots of fun activities taking place this Thursday in our school library to celebrate World Book Day 2022.
This year’s World Book Day theme is ‘you are a reader’. Please follow this link to view the presentation that will be delivered to your child during assemblies this week, helping to launch World Book Day in our school and inspire all to read for pleasure.
Finally, teachers and pupils have been asked to bring in their favourite book to carry around school to prompt discussions and inspire others to read for fun. World Book Day is going to be a great day and we can’t wait for everyone to get involved.
