My father was stationed at Landsberg Air Base from March 1955 to June 1958 and we went with him. My grade school was located in the Saarburg Kaserne in Landsberg. These photos are all very familiar to me.

Is it possible to view the photos in a larger format and higher resolution, for example in an online album? Of course only for your own use and not for commercial publication.

Thank you for sharing these pictures!
I was living in Landsberg am Lech from 1976 to 2020 and it is nice to watch these old scenes which are even older than me!
But there is a little mistake: At 0:56 min. you say we see the staircase in the so-called "Witches' Quarter". I know these stairs very well, because as a child I sometimes ran them up with my heavy school bag on my way back home from school.
However, the stairs in this photo are a connection from the "Alte Bergstraße" to the "Heilig Kreuz Kirche" and are not part of the "Witches' Quarter", as you describe in the text. The "Witches' Quarter" is located behind the house, which you can see in the back of the photo.
    Greetings from Germany! :-)

Thanks very much for your correction! (I doubt that's the only error I made in my 58-year [1956-2014] re-visitation of the original slides.)

@@curtclaus8673 Well, at least in terms of the city of Landsberg am Lech, I didn't find any further errors in this video.

Da war die Waitzinger Wiese tatsächlich noch eine Wiese...!

Heute donnert der Autobahnverkehr direkt dort vorbei.
      Ein Jammer...

@@curtclaus8673 All right, nice to know! Waitzinger Bräu no longer exists and I didn't even know that this brewery even existed. Now I found this: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waitzinger_Br%C3%A4u

I can't believe I am seeing these wonderful photos from where my family and I were living at the exact same time! You must be the young man seen a few times, by the tower and later with the VW. Were you stationed there? My dad was in the Air Force at the time and we first lived on the Kaserne just outside of town. Later we moved out to the Air Base. Your photos bring back a lot of memories. If you have more from around there I would love to see them. I hope you are doing well and thank you once again for uploading these images of a much happier time.

Yes, the AB. No longer that young man (88 now!), but many fond memories of Landsberg am Lech; other photos long lost.

88? If you take care of your health, you can easily get 100 and more. Good food is important. For example Schweinsbraten, Knödel, Brezn, Leberkäs, Weißwürste, Obatzda, Krautsalat... And of course bavarian beer. A lot of bavarian beer. Alcohol-free bavarian beer. Because alcohol is not very healthy, you should only consume very little.
