In this Thailand Travel Vlog we decided to rent a scooter and go on a day trip to Doi Inthanon National Park - home of the highest point in Thailand! Carles had been before many years ago, during April (the hottest month in Thailand). So instead of looking up much information, we just jumped on a bike and went! When we left Chiang Mai it was soo hot outside! However, once we reached the top of Doi Inthanon we were FREEZING!!! We didn't think it got that cold in Thailand! Luckily we were able to grab some hot coffee and continue to explore the different nature trails and see the pagodas in the park.....however the clouds rolled in right as we got to the pagodas and we could not see much at all! This was definitely an experience that we're happy we got to do! However.....if you're going to go, try to be a little more prepared than us 🤣🤣

Rainy season in Thailand is same as hot season plus the rain. The best time to visit the north of Thailand is in cold season. Doi Inthanon temperature normally minus during the that season. The temparature you experience now is the ground temperature in Chiangmai city during cold season it even relatively warm compare to in few months ahead but it will get very busy up there for new year. Thai people will travel north especially Chiangmai Petchabune Chiangrai and Maehongson they are among the most popular in that region.
We've heard it's really popular to go to Chiang Mai for the cooler weather! I can't imagine how cool it gets normally during the winter! I actually really like the hot weather 😍 although.....Bangkok at noon in April might be a littleeee too hot 🤣

The top of Doi Inthanon in winter, the temperature is minus 2-3 degrees, the highest is -5 degrees, which makes it cold because of the wind blowing. 😊🤙

That would be amazing!! I'd actually love to go camping there and see the sunrise 😍 but there are still a lot of places we want to go in Thailand 😭
Most tourists come up to see the sunrise and sunset.
Trekking at Kew Mae Pan which is a semi-alpine meadow and see many species of Himalayan birds
See mountain cherry blossoms or Himalaya cherry blossoms (Mountain Sakura ) and winter flowers at Pha Tang and Khun Wang.
See Wachirathan Waterfall and many other beautiful waterfalls at this mountain.
See the beautiful twin pagodas
Drink Arabica coffee with hill tribe villages
Camping in the native pine forest
Visit the Chedi (Pagoda) Cemetery of the Lanna Kings used as the mountain's name.
Take photos at the highest point of Doi Inthanon and there is an observatory.
Those are all amazing things to do there!! I'd love to go back one day! 😍

It really was!! And thanks! That's the good thing about the rain here - it'll come out of nowhere, but it usually doesn't last too long! We hungout under cover with those dogs for a while and then we could drive home with no rain!

Normally, Doi Inthanon is cold for a whole year ,especially highest point but if both of you visit this place on Dec - Jan . The temp will be 0 or -1 C in the morning and you will see ice on grass leaf clearly.

Yesss - we really want to!! 😍 it's difficult because I work in a school here so we can only travel on holidays and weekends! (We took an overnight bus to Chiang Mai when I got off work so we were able to fit everything into one weekend!)
Great video.Great experience to go there by bike. In Thailand the top of Doi inthanon is the most challenging for cyclists to conquer once in theirs life and Kew Mae Pan nature trail is popular for tourists also it have 3 km. Long and temperature minus to 4 degrees Celsius in winter lots off stunning views points Don't miss it next time.
I'm always amazed when we drive up the craziest mountain roads here and there are people out cycling up them!!! 😱 but yessss - I hope one day we can go back when the weather is nicer! I LOVE a good viewpoint!! But unfortunately when we were there all we could see were clouds 😭

If you visit Chiangmai province. You will be visiting Inthanon Royal Agricultural Project which is interesting for many reasons because you eat fruit and vegetables fresh and distribute them to Bangkok and other provinces in Thailand. In addition to having you eat caviar from sturgeon fish and trout fish are fresh farm from here. Thank you for visiting and living in Thailand.

Inthanon agricultural royal Thai project open restaurant and open home for guest visit and rest on weekend and holidays. These restaurant is interesting and send and serve rainbow trout on November to April every year. In addition to eat caviar from sturgeon from Chiangmai to serve and one menu to people eat on Asia Pacific Economy Corporation summit or APEC summit in Bangkok on 14 to 19 November 2022.

If you find 18C very cold, you two must have gone "native", being acclamatized by Thai humid weather all year round. I could not imagine that I could live in a country with a temperature below 20C, but tell you what, I actually could acclamatize myself to the local weather in Athens, Ohio in the winter when it could get down below 0C and snow falls heavily in 1983/3 when I studied for my Master there.
Yes, definitely! I'm actually from Pennsylvania so you were really close to where I'm from! Getting used to winter isn't fun 😭 I don't think I ever want to live through a full winter season again lol I HATE cold!! I much prefer the weather in Thailand!

Hey hey!! you need to be carefully.during travelling in Monsoon season.The roads very dangerous.when you riding motor bike you need to going slow.In this time low season Thai people we do not journey for travelling.Have a good journey.Next station my reccommanded is Doi Ang Khang>>then >>>Chiang Dao town.

Long time ago like 40+ year Bangkok in winter morning you can see ice on the glass especially off center BKK. That is why most Thai women know how to nite sweater. My Mom she will nite sweater for me and my sister. All my friends in BKK wear sweater.
That's crazy that it would be that cold in Bangkok! 😱 I usually take a sweater with me when we go out.....but just because it's so cold inside all the malls and the BTS/MRT! 🤣
