With the compost try to keep the woody material out of it or keep the pieces as small as possible ,since we are going into winter try to put as much soil into the pile as possible and layer it you do not have to mix it until spring it really is not going to do anything the idea is to get all the plant debris in one spot.the weather will break a lot of it down. yes cut the asparagus down to 3 inches.or so and you can bring the peppers and tomatoes inside just repot them and cut off the tops to 2 inches the idea is to just keep them alive until april when you can plant them outside. You have the concept my sunflowers too are done and yes you can leave the stalks up for the birds to eat seeds.that is exactly what nature does. The idea is to clean up the garden you already know that is less you have to do in spring. Pruning is done in the cold season for trees and shrubs usually in march before the leaves come out.in your climate maybe earlier any broken or branches that crisscross are usually pruned out. the idea is to open up the center of the tree to sunlight and make the wood stronger. there is a lot to prune correctly and when the time comes I will walk you through it.this is knowledge you can take anywhere and you will never be unemployed if you get enough knowledge.i have many neighbors who pay me to take care of their properties.i am a spring baby born in May.

I've been growing things indoors since I live in an apartment. If you have any extra grow bags or pots let me know.
